The biggest difference is that people in Western Australia don't pronounce their i's like 'oi' as much, we sound slightly more English instead. There are a few stereotypes about people from Queensland too. But otherwise from what I see the accents really tend to be socio-economic-based and kind of performative? The broader your accent, the more working-class, down to earth, etc, you identify as. The more toned-down you sound, the more you want to be sophisticated. Source: I have no idea who I am and what i want out of life, and my accent varies wildly. In my city alone, there are all kinds of accents from people who were born and raised there.
