Spot on Sorrow is much dismissed by some in favour of Comfortably Num but in my book it is as good if not better.
The founder member of Pink Floyd was Syd Barrett Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, Artist and Poet.
Unfortunately he had some mental health issues and an addiction to LSD that he took in increasingly large quantities. He became extremely unreliable disappearing for long periods. So the band ended up bringing in David Gilmour and eventually parting company with Syd or it could have been the other way around really. Syd became a total burn out but did regain most of his mind and released some Solo Work. Syd Passed away in 2006 may he have found peace. Syd was the inspiration for much of the bands work the Album Wish You Were Here was really a tribute to him.
The Key Board player is Richard Wright another of the originals he passed away from Lung Cancer in 2008.
Rodger Walters Base Player and Singer, original member split with the band in 1985 and a massive legal battle ensued that he eventually lost. Still performing his solo work and The Wall.
Nick Mason Drummer, original member is still performing and has his own band Saucer Full of Secrets playing a lot of Pink Floyd's early work.
Floyd is a gift to humanity!
Syd Barrett, founding band member and original singer died in 2006. He had left the band in 1968 after David Gilmour joined

Same! I'm (only) 38 but I've known PF my whole life because my parents were huge fans. So I legit can't remember ever listening to them for the first time and I so wish I did! That's why I love watching first reactions. It's a little bit of a vicarious thing but I'm also genuinely happy to witness that discovery.🤩

The Pulse Tour is the absolute benchmark for a live performance for me. I saw Floyd only three times live, the Pulse Tour was the peak, with all the visuals, lasers and all that. I watched it in a stadium and it was like flying through space and time.

And more...Richard William Wright (28 July 1943-15 September 2008) was an English keyboardist and songwriter who co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd in 1965. He appeared on almost every Pink Floyd album and performed on all their tours. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 as a member of Pink Floyd.
Don't let the bozos get you down, mate. Some people are just natural a**holes. That being said, yes, this song is an absolute banger and probably my favorite one in this concert. One Of These Days from this same concert also rocks hard. The Great Gig in the Sky from Pulse is just heavenly and I highly recommend it. Makes me cry every time.
Look, even though you've experienced only a couple of Pink Floyd songs it's easy to see their music has hit you in that special way that the rest of us Floydians recognize. You're one of us, one of us, one of us!! 🤘🏽💗

Hey, great reaction to one of Pink Floyd's masterpieces. Richard Wright, the keyboardist, is the singer who died (over a decade ago). His playing was an essential ingredient to that famous Pink Floyd sound, perfectly accompanying the legendary guitar playing of David Gilmour. The older drummer is Nick Mason, an original band member along with Richard Wright (David Gilmour joined the group a couple of years after the band formed, replacing Syd Barrett, who had mental issues). Roger Waters, another original band member, left the group in the mid-eighties, I believe, and is not present for this great Pulse concert of 1994. He was Pink Floyd's chief lyricist and bass player. Unfortunately, he had a massive ego and left the band in a huff, declaring it a "spent force." He was so wrong about that. Pink Floyd put out some great albums after he left, and performed some of the greatest rock concerts in history. This Pulse concert is the crown jewel of their live performances. Some standouts you should still react to: Keep Talking, High Hopes, One Of These Days, and Run Like Hell. But really, all the songs from this concert are marvelous and worth reacting to.

One of the great things about Pink Floyd is they know how to pace a concert and use. Nothing is rushed, it's all precise and professional. A class act from start to finish.
i love sorrow. David Gilmour has said its his favourite guitar solo he's written and enjoys playing. underrated album which i saw played live before Pulse with the same lighting and quadraphonic sound system in the old Wembly stadium, it was incredible, you leave not knowing what else to do, you don't want it to stop, you feel elation and overwhelmed, and nothing seems to matter for a few for days it is profound experience, that's without drugs of any kind, never experienced that since at a concert.
Regarding the little rant I had at the start of the video. None of it applies to the people who have subscribed, like the video and/or leave positive comments on my videos. I appreciate every single one of you that shows your support and help inform me on videos I am reacting to. I’ll continue to make great reaction videos for you guys and I hope you’ll all stick along for the journey. To the people who leave pathetic negative comments, you’re also helping me. Your comments help push my videos into the algorithm and helps grow the video even more! Anyway… I hope you guys enjoy this video and thank you so much for all the support so far!
Any music reactor will end up with those subscribers who enjoy his style and expertise, and if he is unsuccessful in acquiring subscribers, he will either learn from the constructive criticism that viewers provide, or he will close down. The marketplace (audience) will sort things out. Certainly there is no reason (other than boorishness) for anyone to write insulting comments--if what you watch does not appeal to you and you cannot bring yourself to suggest improvements in a polite manner, just move on. We older viewers should consider that, just maybe, our reason for watching reaction videos is not to listen to a treasured song for the umpteenth time, it is to see neophytes experience the music that we feel is timeless.
You're doing fine. Try not to obsess on the negativity.

Just watched the U2 performance at the state of the art Sphere in Vegas and think Pulse, even though 30 years old, is far better.

Don't let complainers get to you. Pink Floyd had 3 stages, it took 3 days to set up and 2 days to take down so either they played 1 show a week or get more stages. They would play on one stage while they were tearing one down in another city they played in while building one in another city. They just Leap Frogged from one stage to another. I still have my Ticket Stub from this Tour. Sid Barret died decades ago.

I've been a floydian since 1969 and enjoy your honest reactions. 3 original members at Pulse-94: David Gilmour guitar, Richard Wright keyboards (R.I.P.), Nick Mason drums. Syd Barret had to quit in -69 due to mental illness, Roger Waters went solo after The Wall and Final Cut, still going strong.
A good advice: Try out "Echoes" live Pompeii part 1&2, 1972. Then listen to the whole album "Dark Side of the Moon" (-74) in two parts, were the second starts with "Money". -That's a nice beginning... Another good advice: When you pause the video, wind back five-ten seconds before you start over again, so we don't miss a cord! Good luck and enjoy both lyrics and soundscapes, you won't regret!

Greetings from Miami, Florida! David Gilmour is the lead singer and lead guitarist. He is alive and I believe he is around 77 years of age now. Richard Wright (keyboards) passed away in England in 2008. Nick Mason is the older of the 2 drummers and he is also alive. Claudia Fontaine (1 of the 3 background singers) passed away in England in 2018.
Also want to say I enjoy watching a younger person like yourself see this historical quality music and realizing it is something special. Keep going ! You’re doing great for a newcomer to Pink Floyd 😊

I'm an old man (a 73 year old fart, if you will), and I really like your reactions. I don't think your pauses are intrusive because I've already heard the song(s) 1000 times before you were born, so it makes no nevermind to me. Besides, your pauses are short and to the point. I kinda figure that if one wants to see/listen to a particular song then perhaps one should actaually LOOK FOR THE SONG OR VIDEO AND LISTEN TO IT! What I appreciate, though, is the way you really LISTEN to the tune, to actually get what it's about. Don't worry about the 'old man' comments, please. Do just what you're doing and you will go far, young man. You have my blessing, LOL! Rock on...............

Someone once commented that David Gilmour's second guitar solo on Comfortably Numb is mankind's greatest achievement. This solo from Sorrow ranks up there with it.
I’m 71 years old and from northern England I remember getting my 1st drum kit in 1966 and learning to play along with the records of the time, then in 1967 I heard a single “Arnold Layne” by a new band Pink Floyd. This was the start of a lifelong journey although when Syd Barret lead guitarist/ vocalist and songwriter left the band in 1968 due to I’ll health, I thought that was the end. But David Gilmour joined and his guitar and vocals took them to another level. To choose a favourite track is difficult they’re all great. Many will say “comfortably numb” the live Pulse concert . . . It’s hard to disagree also “ on the turning away “ Enjoy young man. 🤘

I'm new here AND I'm one of the older guys, but I love your reaction. Great to hear the younger generation listening to and appreciating these classic rock masterpieces! Your Pink Floyd journey has just begun I suspect in which case I envy you hearing this music for the first time written and performed by aliens from another world. I saw them live in January 1970 at Farnborough Technical College (as it was called then). Never got into them until later on in life and now they are my favourite band of all time with 'Comfortably Numb' being my favourite song of all time!
May I suggest another truly amazing number from this concert called 'Keep Talking' which features the famous physicist Professor Stephen Hawking - terrific number.
i'm just so glad youngsters are wrapping their sorry little heads around Floyd.... there's hope yet , maybe.

It makes me very happy to see young people discovering this great music from a great era long gone. She is far too good to be forgotten. "one of these days", "run like hell", "Time", "high hopes" are songs from the Pulse concert that you will definitely like.
Today's Plastic Fantastic so-called artist can't hold a candle to artist like Pink Floyd. Today's artist wears shinny suits with scantily clad backup dancers piddling about behind them to hide the fact that they have no talent. David Gilmour wears jeans and a plain black t-shirt on stage and blows the audience away with their performance. It's fun to see younger people go down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. Great Reaction.
The great David Gilmour lead vocalist and guitarist of Pink Floyd is alive and well and enjoying retirement. last toured in 2016 as a solo act performing many of Pink Floyd's greatest songs along with his own solo stuff. The original lead singer and co-founder of the band was Syd Barrett. Syd went a little funny in the head and was dropped from the band after their first album. However his ghost remained with them throughout their career, often alluding to him in song and concepts of their most celebrated albums. Give a listen to "Brain-damaged/Eclipse" studio version from one of the great concept albums of all time "Dark Side of the Moon" to hear an example . It's also among the biggest selling albums of all time. Good job. 👍

Take no notice of haters. They could easily find copies of the songs, without interruptions on CZcams. I'm 65 and I am really happy to see younger people reacting to the music I've loved for years. My own kids were never interested in my music, which I always felt a shame.

First time seeing them was 1971. Have seen them 4 more times since. I have seen the great ones from Hendrix, Airplane and such. These guys where the best band bar none. These guys take you on an emotional journey every song. No one comes close .

Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a David Gilmour show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.

As an older lady who's been listening to PF since they started, I love your reactions and am subscribing just because I like watching you young ones get Floyded! Just a bit of advice, IGNORE the naysayers in life and just be you. You seem to know what real music is so enjoy! We will enjoy with you, especially when your covering our music, 60s and 70s! You're doing great so ignore the idiots, they're always around but don't pay them attention!
The greatest live band by a country mile.
Pink Floyd is one of my all time favorites and I love it when I got to see them in concert. The last time I got to see them was in 87 and they had one of the best laser and light shows that I have ever seen. They have such a large number of hits and I would say that they are one of those bands that you can pick any album that they have and the whole thing is awesome and I have never heard a song by them that I didn't love.
Pink Floyd is my favorite band. I was fortunate enough to see them live in 1988 and 1995 (Pulse). David Gilmour is a legend for his guitar work. Not a lot of crazy fast riffs but he could make a guitar sing like no other. And like others said, he did not die. The keyboardist/singer Richard Wright passed away unfortunately.
I was at this concert, I was 5 rows from the stage. What you don't get from the video is the POWER! The low notes in the opening guitar solo made my teeth resonate, and each drum beat felt like I was getting slapped in the face. But an experience that defys adequate description. Think awesome turned to 11. Off the frigging scale.

Pretty much any song from Pulse is gold. High Hopes and Keep Talking are two more excellent examples of “newer” Pink Floyd songs from the same post Roger Waters era as Sorrow.

I am old and I like that the music I listened to in my younger years (12 and up) is still surprising young people now. The main difference is now you hear one song at a time. We would listen to the whole album as soon as we got it home from the store. Keep making videos.

Hey, I don't expect people of your age to be Pink Floyd fans. Heck learning is the fun of it. Enjoy it. You will learn. Richard Wright, the older keyboard player is the one who passed away. He is missed.
I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.
All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS

This is the 2nd Greatest Live Guitar Solo... Only because #1 is later in the show. I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show Syracuse Carrier Dome in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all. When the “Disco Ball’ was uncovered and the lights hit it….. WHAT IS HAPPENING was what I said….The entire crowd was held in a trace and our minds totally blown by what we witnessed.
I was here!....on this night....the whole evening was history in the making....but this song...this song....the sound was so loud and so clear and the bass and frequency was so so low that I'm sure my internal organs were rearranged!!!
The difference between old and new music is talent and respect for the audience.
Most new music "artists " can't sing or play any instruments.

Their song Shine on you Crazy Diamond is about him and is the opening song from Pulse but do listen to the original recording too. Syd turned up at Abbey Road studios when the band were recording the song, first time they'd seen him in years and probably the last too.

There are some people in this world that cannot take a step back and realize you don't know everything as well as they know what they're thinking! They would make bad teachers! When you react to something for the first time you're not going to know or remember the names of the musicians or singers, their style will be new to you etc... They just don't realize you're not going to understand like they do!!

I was in my 20 s when they put out "The Wall". Fan for years before that,, still had to watch the movie 3 times,,sooo much going on. Yes , the movie, more like a movie length music video!! Great stuff❤

Your face!! 🤘 Gilmore has found that sound, on his guitar, that just makes your hair raise! Sorrow, live, is my fav. Floyd song. Thanks for doing it! With pink floyd, every new song you hear tends to be yet another master class and better than the previous track, to improve your knowledge on the members of the band, and the meaning of the different songs, look on google or wikipedia, its all there and will improve your understanding of their songs.

Don't take any notice of the haters, we all had to get to know who's who, ive been listening to these bands for 57 years & still get their names wrong sometimes .

Sorrow is also a favourite of mine but there is another which you haven't played - "On the turning Away", they didn't play it at Pulse but there is a live performance of it around - absolutely brilliant.

Awesome reaction young man! I'll echo what's already been mentioned. If I wanted to watch videos uninterrupted, I wouldn't select reaction videos. Some people are miserable just looking for something to grumble about. To me it's a pleasure seeing next generation listeners reacting to timeless masterpiece classics. This is your gig... so do it your way. You've done a fine job here, just don't lose your confidence. To those that don't like it you owe nothing, except maybe the middle finger. Rock on!
David Gilmour is still alive; 77 years old this year. He last toured in 2016. I don't know if or when he will release a new album or tour, although I hope so; there was talk of a new solo album a year or two ago. He does have social media accounts, and his wife, the author Polly Samson, often posts pictures of David at home, playing guitar, spending time with grandchildren, etc. The singer/guitarist who died was Syd Barrett. Syd was a friend to the band but was let go in 1967 as he battled mental health issues. David Gilmour had been brought in as a guitarist in the meantime and replaced Syd in 1968. I think Syd died in 2006. David had produced some of Syd's solo work and they remained friends. The gray-haired keyboardist in these Pulse videos and original Pink Floyd member Richard Wright died in 2008. Also, thanks for reacting to 'Sorrow' probably my favorite live performance from Pulse.
I watch these reaction videos to see how the younger generations react to the music I grew up with. Igoes me soul good to see and hear how it makes you feel. I own all these songs and have listened to them hundreds of times. Ignore the critics of speaking your mind. If they truely want to just listen to the musi they could have pulled up the video you were reacting to. Keep it real and speak your mind.

I love reaction videos, particularly cold reviews, where someone knows absolutely nothing (or near to it) about the music they are reviewing. It's like turning a friend on to something new that you love. Are they going to hate it? Love it? Go down the rabbit hole? Sometimes they become more obsessed about a sound that I am.
Ignore the old geezers who don't get the point of reaction videos. I'm a 60+ yo woman who loves watching younger generations listen to music I know well, as well as explore new music that neither of us have ever heard. Exploring and learning can be a lifelong journey. I can't see myself ever growing tired of listening to reaction reviews. I want to hear the thoughts others have about music, whether I agree with it or not. I want to keep growing, and that involves be open to other's viewpoints.
I hope your channel exceeds your expectations. I see such a great future for you.

Yeah, thanx to the others before me, who already said it. I'm here to relive my first Floyd experiences. Discovered them off of a dog urine stained cassette on the floor of my buddie's dad's pinball game room. They left it there and called it "Pink Piss" lol. I was 11 then, 49 now. Enjoy your journey anyway you wanna ride on it, and thanks for letting us ride along 😊
