Fantastic looking stadium. I’m loving this push to build European looking 20-30k stadiums
The capacity of specific soccer stadiums should be increased to accommodate a minimum of 30,000 fans, as Nashville SC did in its own stadium, but stadiums of 20,000 are still too small, so the ideal would be for most stadiums to have an average capacity of 40 to 50,000, as in the major European and South American leagues.
European Iooking?
@@franciscomiguelrengelmoren7098 The good thing about those stadiums is the steel structure, and if it is necessary to expand it to an additional 10,000 seats, it will not pose a problem, as it would if it were reinforced concrete.
@@fivehundrediq5212 Ya, a lot of the recent soccer-specific stadium have clearly been built with influence from stadiums from the Big 4 in Europe, especially stadium's from the Bundesliga and the EPL
I want African looking stadiums built!!!
I love the passion the owners are putting into this team, and especially putting emphasis on looking for talent in underprivileged communities. As a Rapids fan, I DREAM about my club putting this much funding and passion into the team and stadium. Really wishing I was in St. Louis rn😂
St. Louis CITY SC Let's go our first home game !!!!!!!!
Would be nice if MLS scheduled each team to play every team once a season so every other year we could visit newer stadiums.
I think if they had divisions inside each conference so that they played their division opponents 2 times, then you'd be able to fill the schedule out. Otherwise, you have 9-10 games where you have to play someone else twice with no way to decide who those 2nd time opponents will be.
@@SuperHamrick94 I just say go to 33 teams then play everyone once. Give a trophy for most points then top 12 make MLS cup playoffs. Winner of league and cup play a charity MLS Super Cup match the week prior to next season kickoff.
@@johnglue1744 You know how big the USA is? It would be a logistical nightmare to schedule for every team to play each other once, and it would also be very expensive since most teams don't fly private. Adding in all the other competitions that go on throughout the year, the varying weather events, different time zones, makes it almost impossible. There is a reason professional team sports in the USA have East and Western conferences and leagues have over 30 teams
I agree! Major League Baseball is starting that this year, very exciting
@@SuperHamrick94 MLS stadiums imo some of them are slightly better than EPL stadiums
This is going to be such a special team in MLS. St. Louis deserves this. They’ve embraced soccer for so long and I’m happy they get to celebrate that with a new club. I’m a proud St. Louisan and I look forward to rooting for this team!
“Meet Me in St. Louis” 🎵
So excited about St. Louis City! Finally, an MLS club that I can passionately get behind!
Me too! I'm from Wisconsin, but St. Louis is my favorite Midwestern city. The club was founded on my birthday, August 20th!
Same actually, I agree! I’m also from the Badger state! I could never get passionate about the Chicago Fire or Minnesota United cause we hate those teams in the NFL 😂

im a nutral fan of this beatiful league since 2015 and im still hyped and amazed year by year to see citys like st. louis getting introduced to mls with an clear identity of how the club, the academy and especialy the city and fan community with a soccer passion like that, looks. i mean... lutz pfannenstiel has been a co-commentator on eurosport back than. its mind blowing to see how he made his dream come true at one point of his life. the message for me seeing teams like st. louis city: dreams come true if you really fight for it. more than a question of "will". Cheers from Germany
I am so happy how the game of the world is growing in the USA.
As a lafc fan st.Louis is my 2 favorite team
Beautiful stadium
What an amazing stadium. Thanks, MLS!
From St. Louis played in high school:-) , remember the ‘storm’ and watched Brian McBride when he was at SLU , lot of passion soccer in the city. Excited to watch this team grow .
The club wants to get away from the Pay-For-Play system for its youth system 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
YES!!! Love it!
What a stadium 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
that drone pilot is sick
St. Louis as a city actually has the second most Open Cups (after NYC) and had its own top-flight pro league in the early 20th century, so this actually sells its footballing history *short* somewhat.
Didn't know this about St. Louis however what astounds me is the fact that it took this long for them to have an MLS team
Which, as someone from the stu Louis area, I’m surprised about because I’ve only ever heard about baseball here (and somewhat deservedly so)
Vou ser um Torcedor do Sant Louis City
"You don't find training facilities across the street from the stadium in this league."
FC Dallas with their 17 soccer field academy surrounding Toyota Stadium: "Am i a joke to you?"
One big difference is that FC Dallas is not in Dallas itself, while St. Louis City has
its facilities on the edge of downtown, including all the team adminstrative offices.
@@vitameat good point i'll concede that, Frisco has lots of open space, or at least it did when the club started building. From that perspective yes, squeezing 3 professional training fields downtown is pretty impressive for any club.
@@magicwaffles586 yeah I do not like Frisco that much but the fields around there are nice. Toyota Stadium is a joke and it sucks that we have that field while other cities have brand new ones. At least can we get a canopy 😂
@@ecliqsly6585 Toyota is prob bottom 3 stadiums in the league but we were one of the first. I'm partial to it because it just feels great to be there, second home type thing, esp for a good game. A canopy is desperately needed. Personally i'd be fine with the same tarp canopy style from the HoF end and just do that on east and west end.
Ya they're talking about being located in downtown
this is probably the sickest stadium. wish they were in Fifa 23
Still wanna see the capacities go a little higher but man mls is starting to get these stadiums right. Congrats to the Lou
why you so greddy, it just soccer not am eggball
Nah, it’s good having smaller stadiums, especially for newer teams. It grows the passion between the newer fans who are closer to the field and makes all the sounds become amplified with how compacted everything is. I am hoping though that once the teams have established their presence and history, they do get expanded like twenty years down the line.
@@Khairan99 what the hell is eggball?
Looks beautiful. Whoever is in charge of branding for MLS clubs genuinely needs to be fired though.
Hope y'all, Charlotte and Austin wind up getting a real name soon.
Getting rid of the pay-to-play youth system gives St Louis a huge advantage for the future.
Good lucky team,,☘😍😍,,,from Italy😉😉
Pfannenstil did great work at Dusseldorf. He is straight one of the best if not the best Manager in MLS. I won't be suprissed if St Louis play strong seasons already to the beginning. Not like Cincinnati or Miami
They've started the year off on the right foot.
Just a reminder that he’s our Sporting Director, our manager/coach is Bradley Carnell.

I hope some teams that have stadiums outside the cities built ones closer to the city centers looking at LA Galaxy, Colorado Rapids, Real Salt Lake, FC Dallas, Chicago Fire, New England Revolution, both New York teams
there are still teams that play too far from the urban center of the cities they represent and it is a serious problem, they should urgently move to downtown anyway FC DALLAS from Frisco to Dallas City COLORADO RAPIDS to Denver and NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION to Boston that enormous distance becomes the teams with the worst fans in this league along with NY RED BULLS which, as it plays in NEW JERSEY, should change its name to adopt NEW JERSEY AS IDENTITY
@@franciscomiguelrengelmoren7098 I'm not sure why you're so focused on the urban center of the city. You pick the land avaialbe land. I'll wait.
Woa nice video
I like the design, but the stadium should be expanded to 30,000 in the future. Since the weather is quite strong and unpredictable at times, I’d like to see the roofing be raised to accommodate the new seating and extended as to cover more of the seats and possibly the touch lines of the pitch. Either way, happy to see football back in St. Louis; one that elegantly fits the timeline of the city and is supported strongly.
Cant wait till San Diego gets a team
how is it going?!you made nice done-=)
St. Louis doing it all right, meanwhile Chicago still can't get their act together 🤦🏽♂️
In the mls

"Nooo"
"Oh my Bad tear down the Stadium and dissolve the Club "
BUT YET NEW ENGLAND DOESN'T GET ONE, THE FINAL FOUNDING TEAM WITHOUT A SSS
28 teams.
I almost feel that the USA should create two equal leagues. An east and a west. Then you could expand further and have say 2 sizeable leagues. The USA is about the size of Europe as a whole. But in Europe each country has their league system.
OR
No more expansion teams. BUT have a promotion relegation system.
FCDALLAS has their training right next to their stadium as well
Respect from🏴 can they sell that out i didn’t think Americans fucked with football like that
Certain areas do. Depending on the level as well(Pro, college, high school, travel).
Yes it'll sell out. It seats 22.5k but there were 60k+ deposits for season tickets.
Guess you didn’t know the United States is about to host a second World Cup, Does news travel slow in England like it’s 1945?
@@fivehundrediq5212 nah but it’s not for that is it World Cup will surely be at the nfl stadiums n that
@@fivehundrediq5212 even if it is my point wasn’t anything to do with the World Cup they only build stadiums for purpose past World Cup they don’t just build them for World Cup so my point is will it sell out for normal football that clearly went over ur head and obviously I knew it was in America😭don’t think u realise how big football is here
Pfannenstiel Penang legend
I fear St Louis might need a bigger stadium if everything is true about everyone there loving football.
I moved here a couple years ago and was kinda shocked how big of a sport it is here.
They supposedly built the stadium with that in mind. They can add an upper level if needed.

So many soccer teams in cities without NBA teams. Soccer seems to be bigger than basketball
similar to Q2
I don't know how small such a stadium is, MLS must increase its capacity in the next decade by creating new specific stadiums of 40 to 50 thousand or doubling the existing capacity so that they represent a middle ground between the current small stadiums of only 20 thousand seats and the huge NFL stadiums that exceed 60 and 70 thousand seats
No These stadiums are fine where they are, it’s not about the fans in the stands, From what I’ve seen from future U.S stadiums these places will be multi-purpose entertainment venues, watching the game will become just an option
es estadio y centro comercial
only in America
Looks cool but I'm gonna be honest, 458 Million I expect more. The glass wall on one end of the stadium looks nice and the colors of the seats are incredible. The rest of it leaves a lot to be desired. The outside of the stadium isn't much to look at as it looks like a generic open-air soccer stadium. I think bits of the stadium are cool but when you compare it to TQL and Q2 stadium, I think this is a miss, especially for the price they paid for it.
Literally the same as Q2
@@surfhappens202 Exterior is not even close and also Q2 was 200 million less.
@@CJSouth_21 Whether they look similar or not. The idea is pretty much the same
I think a lot of the price is also for the facility across from the stadium, team pavilion across from the stadium, and the parking garage across from the stadium.
Until you see the complex-(stadium,training facility, team store, headquarters, training building, garage) that used to be a highway ramp yes it does cost more.
461 million?! what an absolutely robbery, Johan Cruiff stadium, Emirates stadium and estadio da luz were cheaper then that and have double or triple the capacity
Ever think of adjusting for inflation?
You can’t just build a huge 70,000 stadium anywhere you want, You forget about zoning cost, land research, + building a stadium that’s gonna be transportational & commercial friendly, That stadium is perfect & also you didn’t take into account what’s inside the stadium
@@ChuyEVC Everton’s new stadium will be 40 million more, will be double the capacity and more advanced

No
@@fivehundrediq5212 fine by me, that’s why the MLS will never have global or even continental appeal 🫶🏾
If there was pro/rel you would never in a million years have gotten this stadium. Relegation would be a synonym for bankruptcy in the US.
@@kingkai18 There’s no reason MLS should follow the European model,If anything the American sports model is a better ran system, No owner in their right mind would give up guaranteed TV money to risk being relegated, Pro/Rel is a very unstable system to begin with. The European Super League is based on the American model
@@duaneeitzen1025 not my stadium so I don't particularly mind, but I see your point. in terms of entertainment however I think most would agree that by the end of the seasons the battle to survive relegation is way more entertaining than seeing who gets a better drafting spot.
Sooz, a huge lose for the MLS...
Huh?
Zzzzzzzzzzz. The league's second "City" ripoff nycfc is called city
@@seltonk5136well that’s be because that’s what it’s called St. Louis city. There is only St. Louis County and St. Louis city two completely separate governments. Pretty sure there is also a small tax on it he the people of St. Louis city. Not sure tho

This is a new club! That’s cool! It’s nice to see the MLS growing, but please add relegation, that’s an essential part of football/soccer!
There'a a fucking memorial for a neighborhood that's long gone? Good grief (no pun intended). People are there to watch the game and to learn about the connections of the sport within the city/metro, not about some social justice project.
