Just love you and Hodgy having a laugh on BT sport mate
Crushing dreams of the A Group trackday riders everywhere
What are you on about!
He built his bike wrong and hasn't got a clue!!
I know this because I designed and did all the friggin R&D for 10 years
It's unusual to see someone so over qualified do regular stuff on CZcams.
You're cool as fuck and totally normal in the way you casually do your thing in which you are world class at. The fact that regular track day riders are your traffic makes it funny and adds real perspective for us regular riders. When I see onboard footage from a pro riding with other pros the difference to a regular "fast group rider" is only in my imagination.
Seeing it in real time and in real life is amazing.
It's so refreshing and makes for really great content.
Favourite bike channel by far.
When you make an advanced trackday group look like the novice group 😂
And they are probably all running slicks, while SG50 is on road legal tires.
I noticed this as well. It made me chuckle watching it.
Sure thing. A World Superbike Champion, with world level multi-series racing credentials, having been a Moto GP rider and now a test rider to a factory Moto GP team, has got to have lots of mad skills on a track bike! No weekend racer, no matter how good he is, will ever be able to race anywhere near the same level.
@@shaokahn983 No shit, Sherlock :D
I managed 1:56 on Ron Haslam's 1000cc bikes on my first attempt at Donington so I guess I shouldn't be too ashamed to be 22 seconds off his pace :D
Oh, look that guy wearing Guintoli's colors eheh, quite bold, isn't he? Darn, what was it? The Guintoli look-alike just zoomed past me like a lighting bolt! Man, this chap can ride, I would do some racing if I were him! I'm gonna give him some advice...
That's an impressive pace on street legal rubber. A good reminder that most of us don't need slicks and a bigger bike, we need training and track time.
Nailed it. Training and practice, best modification ever.
This guy is/was the Suzuki motogp test rider......fuckin quick on a 50cc 👍🏼😂
Slicks are safer
The ammount of time he gains in corner exit is mind boggeling
Exactly. Like the actual hell am I witnessing 😮
I believe having a well prepped enter gives a clear prepped exit vs coming in hot.
Videos like this show the true meaning of the phrase “there’s levels to this game”.
Seems fairly simple now.....brake 30 yards later, hold 20 mph more corner speed, full throttle at the apex. Easy. I've got it now.
Don’t forget to turn your “self preservation mode” OFF 😂👍
How was it mate? Did you try it 😂
@@jangabrielreyes4754 He flew off
This is a fascinating series. Watching the evolution of a standard bike to a track bike, by someone with top level experience developing a bike, is a treat. I hope we get to see the ECU work and how and why different options are chosen.

I can hear the pub talk now, about how they raced Sylvain at Donnington, but the go pro stopped working
At the Ace Cafe I once heard a fella state:
"I was entering the roundabout, backin it in, knee down........wheelie out". These words have stuck with me for years. When I hear fantasy bike bragging I always hear in my head "knee down, wheelie out".
Classic bullshit bike bragging.
Oh........and he couldn't ride for shit I later saw.
They used to say that V Rossi would lap everyone in a Donington fast group within 3 laps - looks like Monsieur Guintoli could likely do the same!
Wow,when a GP rider is on track then the entire A-group seems like going backwards lol🤩
Incredible gains on braking and even more on acceleration.
Sylvain, the thing I've really enjoyed about this videos of converting your road bike to track bike is that I don't have to throw a tonne of money at it and that for me and what I want to do which is track days that a standard bike with some basic modifications is all I need.
Unbelievable difference in skill level, made everyone look like they were on a cool down lap. Loving this series 👍🏼
Wow, this just goes to show that everything is relative. You're the fastest of all your mates, then comes this guy and smashes your hopes for life. Amazing content as always!!!
🤣
Imagine smashing along in the fast group on a track day on your track prepped bike thinking you're awesome and Sylvain comes past you still hard on the gas as you're frantically pawing at the brake lever 😆
Is a simple person, I see a video from Sylvain, I click like 👍
Holy hell does this guy shred on a bike. Those poor track day guys looked like they were all riding 125cc bikes.
Fantastic content, Sylvain. What a great bike development project this is! Thanks.
OMG that exhaust sounds epic!
Super stoked I get to view these special videos! Thank you so much for inspiration! ❤
Absolutely amazing video Sylvain. Thank you for doing this. I learnt something watching this. 👌
Amazing what a road bike is capable of and a testament of your skill level, thank you!!!
Thanks mate, another great video, good luck in all you do
Mesmerising to watch. The Akra sounds unreal, especially when you nudged the limiter on a couple of occasions. What got me the most was how much later you braked vs. old mate on his trick track day bike, and then the drive you get out of corners! Again a couple of the other guys who managed to get close (ish) mid corner get completely smashed as you exit and leave them for dust. A great lesson of how to square the corner off and stand it up on exit as quickly as possible. Loving the channel!!!
This is awesome and a clue of how technology advance, as a reference to the 500cc last years, with an absolutely stock bike you was about 4 seconds from pole on 1999 GP, but now you are chasing the last second to be on pole, against Criville and Doohan, just with the ohlins, akrapovic, ecu repro, and obviously your world champion skills!

Be interesting to see if anyone will every brake Barry Sheene's fastest ever lap record from 1977
@@Endurorodzndubz Obviously that means that the track was modified and it is different from the actual one, so no possible then to beat
That was me on the zx10 at the beginning coming onto the back straight, any chance you can post the video of the full session so I can see how bad I am 😂👍
3:08 almost caught an accident on the rear camera too, close to taking the guy in front out! Incredible riding and to hear that machine just sing, loving every step of this GSXR journey Sylvain!
Got these guys properly chopped! Un pur régal! Un grand merci.
Excellent video. Really enjoyed it. Thanks Sylvain. I suspect most of us would struggle to get anywhere near your road bike time even on the modified version of the bike!! Looking forward to hearing the outcome of the rest of the mods.
SG, it is a real thrill to see the Suzuki MotoGP bike in action- for sure, this program is receiving expert input. The GSX-RR corners as if it had thrust vectoring...keep up the fantastic efforts, team!
Was at Donington today on a much less powerful 400gsxr but used these videos as an idea where to put myself on track it was a big help for a total newbie thanks!
Thank you for being such a fantastic guide everyone!
Great to watch and listen to, as always.
And as for the 'mahoosive' difference watching the others in slo-mo...says it all 😁
Poor pilots... they just saw a bullet flying by
Love the content on your channel. The bike looks and sound amazing.
What is the end goal with this bike by the way ?
No particular end goal, just making it faster on track step by step, testing upgrades and most of all having fun 😎
He shoots... He scores!
That was fun... Bravo my bro!
Your bike and your riding is on another planet. I was on this track day with you in advanced group also with Tommy Bridewell. Thought I was doing ok with a 1:57 on a ZX636 you came past me like I was standing still. You are so quick. Looking forward to watching more of your vids.
OMG this is great. PMSL on every corner.. so freaking quick.
Absolutely nice information. Thanks!
Very good job and very nice analysis!!
Way to humble everyone else in the same riding group🤣, amazing content man, thank you for sharing it with all of us.
Great content and incredible riding! Amazing what almost stock bike can do in the hands of a professional.
This is an awesome video sylvain ... good job
great sound great bike great rider
Absolutely hilarious Guinter's slays all 💪
Loving the content
I applaud you Sylvain for your channel! It is very interesting to listen to your opinions on and explanations of racing.
Love your GSX-R project! Are you going racing with it, or just fun/trackdays?
Another brilliant Vid
That corner exit drive! 😯
Love ur content so much. Incredible riding what a privilege to share the tarmac with a motogp rider. Few egos put away no doubt 😂
Fast boys destroyer.Respect.
Fantastic video
LOL love how the advanced trackday participants are essentially "traffic" ... incredible.
awesome video again Sylvain. The standard bike on top speed and mid corner is super impressive. Assuming the same brakes the suspension allows for much deeper braking it would seem
I was at a track day at Snetterton in June, and so was Scott Redding. "On another level" doesn't do it justice...!
SUPER!!!!!!
This like an NBA bench player stepping on the courts of a competitive open gym session and then casually wiping the floor with everyone who said he sucks. Absolute demolition. Lol
Excellent !!!! Thank you
woh Champ, take it easy, you make them look like they are on static
Amazing series, look at that G force!
She can take it 😜
Amazing to see the different lines and outcomes from a GP and a non-GP rider. Question: this track with its deep apex's appears to favor a strong engine-brake setting. Can you explain in more detail engine-brake tuning and perhaps adapting to an 'optimal' bike setup vs. a bike setup to your riding abilities/style?
Great stuff! Keep them coming!
Awesome content!
Awesome. Thanks 👍 🙂
I guess the rest of the group quit riding afterwards? Amazing talent and informative video!
Pro rider.👏👏👏
Your exit of Melbourne loop is even more impressive than watching it track side.
Geez man, some of these guys look so slow. I know Sylvia is world class, but damn!!!
Cause some of them are. A lot of people on trackdays think they're better than they are.
@@JamieW5024 but surely they need a full on bsb bike for advanced group racing. A crappy gixxer won't let them realise their awesome potential 😅
A very professional content,.
Cool vid!
Bikes looking good 🔥
Its crazy because it sounds like you are going full power out of the corners but i didnt see the bike whellie even once...nice laps 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Power is high on the GSX-R1000 but delivery is smooth with VVT system. + the electronics help too 😎
Racechrono is a great product indeed, still have a n old Nokia with 5Hz bt gps for my random track days.
Great!!
Thanks a lot Sylvain great vid as usual. Just one remark about the data comparison, seems to me that x axis is the actual position on the track. Not directly related to time thus the time spent in a corner can not be compared for the road and track version of your bike as easily. Most probably there is another way to show the data with x axis related to lap time, but because of the lap time différence the corners will no more be superimposed, and the fastest lap will of course end before your road version time.
Anyway always a pleasure to see a French pilot riding as fast, and taking the time to explain us all those things. Thanks again
X axis is Distance, good for basic compare with big time difference. With Time the data would have to be shifted all the time as you said 👍🏻
That's a great educational tool. I also use racechrono pro, but how do you get the data to overlay on the video?
You make everyone look like they are on a sighting lap
*Guys on track* Man I'm going fast!
*Sylvain* Make way, coming thru
Are you including the footage of you talking about the bike at the end in a separate video? I was in garage 35 and walked past the camera several times 😂
Would love to see the dash view for if and when traction control is kicking in as your blazing through....thx for the vid
Great, congratulations for the video, always very exhaustive and professional, I really like the changes you made to the bike to adapt it to the track .... a curiosity....what are the differences in times between the TC On or Off??
In pure lap time it would be close with a professional rider onboard, but it’s much safer to ride with it ON. That safety net would also help 99% of riders go faster 👍🏻
One of the best riders in the world vs the 'fast' group 😂😂😂😂😂 made them look silly, bless..... awesome series of videos this
What I would be interested to know if the difference in lap time from the road tyres to a superstock tyre like a Supercorsa SC2
Everybody thinks they are pretty fast until the MotoGP rider shows up 😁💪
Great vid....but I'm intrigued as to why no mention of the differences between the Cup2's and the stock rubber.
Hi Sylvain! It's me again :D all the way from Texas. Great video as always! I have a really random question for you, I currently have a 2020 R6 for trackdays, a KX65 minibike for kart "training" (though it's really just for fun), I was wondering - what do you think of a Moto3 bike for trackday riding (for learning and for fun, of course)? There are opportunities in the US to buy retired Moto3 bikes and after looking at them, I'm highly intrigued. 180lbs 48-50hp, sounds like a ton of fun.
A reminder to us all mere mortals when we think we are at the limit.....only our own limits :-)
Loving the series, appreciate you doing them for us! Are you still running standard braking setup ? (eg pads/ fluid ?)
In that video yes
@@SylvainGuintoli note to self, more training needed, not more trick bits 😂😂😂 keep up the vids, they’re amazing
Is Suzuki thinking of going to WSBK or are you just having fun with the series? Love the videos!! 👍
That onboard is ridiculous 😂😂
It looks like you're running the michelin power cup 2s. I just got a set to try out this weekend. Any advice?
Great video!! How is it you can do these times with the ABS and almost every review on the bike says how bad the ABS intrudes on the track?? Is it the way you apply the brakes, bike set up or a combination of both? I am really keen on the GSXR but am unsure with all the bad brake performance comments from tests and reviews. Cheers
Hi, I have no issue with the standard GSX-R1000R brakes, I can feel the ABS when riding hard on track but can still pull 1.5G deceleration so you can still brake hard! It’s mainly a difference in feel on the lever.
PCR Performance just did an “ABS delete” on my GSX-R so will soon found out the difference on track 👍🏻😎
What's the lap time difference between TC on and off? Can you feel when traction control reaches the limits?
I used to race in the 90's, so I can say great job there! Back in the day as I am sure now, it's all about money. I have a question please. So for 3 or 4 seconds those mods cost about $20,000 dollars?
Of course sub'd and T-up
I can't believe how much time he is gaining under braking and corner exit, just in sane.
I been doing the same thing, but for drag racing! I prefer the straight line! I’m a big person so never gonna be a good track/closed course rider, to heavy, to tall! I weight as much as the bike, but all this muscle helps in a drag race I can man handle and stay on a big powerful bike no problem, just can’t get around corners as hard as say Rosso could! It’s just simple math more weight=less traction, especially at full tilt! The extra weight might even help on launch! I can put pressure on the pegs and keep the front wheel down, while still making forward movement! I have a 2016 Suzuki GSX-S1000 it’s the naked more street version of the GSXR! We loose top end for low-mid end torque, which is what you want for drag racing! Your not loosing much power your just using it differently! Like the GSXR has a 42 tooth rear pulley our’s has a 44! But we only wind to 11.500rpm the GSXR winds up to 13.500rpm I think it is! We win the drag race but then the GSXR blows by us like we are tied to a stump! But I love my bike, it’s all I need it does exactly what I want it to do,and how I want it to do it! Only thing I’m changing now is 43 tooth rear pulley, as it’s geared to low for me! It’s has massive torque but runs out of gear so quick, feels like your wasting time shifting, when you should just be going! But I have turned the power up and Maid the bike 30lbs lighter! I have a short header and drag pipe, power commander 5 with auto tune, custom ECU flash by Detroit speed, pirreli Diablo Rosso corrso 2’s tires! Shorty adjustable levers! I took off the rear foot pegs and brackets! Changed valve stems to nice 90 degree metal ones! Installed an emergency kill switch for my wrist! Track makes you do that so if you come off they bike doesn’t keep running! It’s isn’t a dead 160mph bullet if I get knocked off 😳 let’s hope we never need that feature! 🥴
I only got overtaken once but it was Sylvain Guintoli honest, it was, on a moto gp bike
Hi sylvain would you ever look into doing a superstock race on this bike, thanks👍
Are you running stock electronics or have you messed with the TC/Wheelie Control/etc.?
Sylvain can you sneak out a set of carbon brakes from your Motogp testing days, it would be fascinating to see the benefit on this project from a guy that knows how to use them.
