Demar Derozan is better than jimmy butler. If we Land him Miami Heat fans will finally get to see what an elite talent on the court really looks like. Butler has been spoiling the fanbase over the years to the point they don’t understand why they have different rank systems in basketball. Outside of both Demar and butler scoring in the midrange and paint. Demar elite scoring is on a different level compared to butler. Butler gets most of his points from steals , foul shots, layups/ dunks and corner 3s. This would be a good pickup especially if butler wants nights off. You can really utilize Demar. I also want people to know just two years ago Demar Derozan was 4th in MvP voting scoring close to 30ppg where butler is only around 19 ppg.
Get better guys that fit Bam timeline let Demar go to the Lakers and assist in the trade . Do a 3 or 4 team trade .

Get in on this trade not necessarily to get Demar but to move Tyler . You’d get cheaper ,healthier,and more athletic. Also, recoup some value by getting future seconds . The moves I mentioned shore up two immediate needs scoring next to Bam and POA defense in the backcourt .
Still have Duncan,Terry,the kids and future first(s) to play with we’re not THAT far off IF they make a necessary move and trim the fat .
Salary dump Duncan maybe for assets or no salary in return .
There’s still targets they can find a cheap shooting/reclamation projects that’s available.

At this point, I’m going after Demar. Demar can help us out in the regular season. He is also pretty durable having played about an average of 75 games for the last 3 seasons. So he can take on the offensive load in regular season and come playoff time when he starts to struggle, we have Jimmy

Those teams are willing to pay massive amounts of luxury tax because they are either champs (Celtics) or think they can win next season. Arison and Riley are also willing to pay the tax but not for a team that wouldn't clearly contend for a championship.
What moves this offseason would have made the Heat the favorites to win a title? Overpaying the corpses of Paul George or Klay Thompson, when they're already hesitant to overpay an aging Jimmy Butler? Doubt it. The way forward was to bring in a player who could make Jimmy the third option on the team, but their realistic chance of doing that ended when Donovan Mitchell re-upped with the Cavs.
The Heat also doesn't have appealing trade assets that they are willing to move. Other teams are mainly interested in Bam, with some smaller level of interest in Herro. Trading Bam is a fire sale move, not a team building move. Flipping Herro wouldn't get you a better player back. No one is going to trade for Jimmy without an extension, and Jimmy wants the max, so that's not happening. There's not a whole lot else left to do there.
They're stuck between being philosophically opposed to breaking down the team and rebuilding in Sam Hinkie style and not being willing to move their only appealing assets. So they have to hope for a healthy team and significant contributions from the rookies.

Wassup Amthony. I couldn't disagree with you more about the need for floor spacing. The only way you can play Jimmy, Bam, and Demar together is by having 2 snipers out with him at the same time, and since Jimmy and Demar will be wings and Bam in the front court you'd need your point guard and Venter to be the snipers. You might get away with it a bit in the regurlar season but come playoff time the opponent will make the Heat try to beat them from the 3 point line. Furthermore, without floor spacers, the midrange game of Jimmy Bam and Demar will suffer.
Kevin Love/Herro/Duncan are your snipers. Martin if he comes back too. Plus Jimmy misses ALOT of games and isn’t known to take regular season serious. Demarr would probably be more of a failsafe for injured Jimmy and I’m certain this is his last year. Pat isn’t too happy with him and is fine letting him walk at the end.

It's time to go to rebuild and tank. Trade Jimmy and get 3-4 first round picks, clear cap space, and next summer draft and free agency is great. Spurs, OKC, and other teams could could offer 4-5 first round pick. You add Duncan, Herro or Terry clear the books. The Heat do bad for this season but you get 2025 first round pick back if its a lotter pick. You have an amazing young core, Jaime, Jovic, Pelle, Keshad, Kel'el Ware, and Bam. You have a chance to get Lauri and/or Fox next summer.

With no state tax in fl compared to the heft state tax of cali 12% the money may not be that much of a factor, its more about the possibility of winning, and Laker are NOT AT ALL making it out the west. Heat have a much better chance to make it to the finals than the Lakers.

Does our FO not know that we need a point guard? Are we really going to rely on undrafted g league point guards? What does Pat have against proven talent? He couldn’t give Kris Dunn or Delon the vet minimum? Tyrus Jones, Dennis Smith Jr, and Spencer Dinwiddie are not CP3 or Magic but they are still available..why aren’t we signing anyone? Gary Trent, Isaac Okoro, Simon Fontecchio, and Lonnie Walker are also still available.
We have Rozier but we definitely need another PG. The thing about Riley, he wants to secure his big fish first, before adding depth.
We'll see what they make of this.

He does not fit in Miami, losing assets in order to get him would be a mistake.
He is another mid range shooter, and he does not perform in the playoffs bc his game is very predictable and good teams can stop him, specially in a 7 game series.
We are in the situation we are bc we traded our assets for big names just for the sake of making a move, and that is exactly what this would be.
He can thrive in the regular season so Jimmy can thrive in the playoffs 😂

I hate to say it but the Heat should try and trade Herro and a 1 rdp for Kuzma. His contract is only 20 mil and then we could get Miles Bridges and we would be better prepared to compete.

I guess I’m the contrarian in Heat Nation. I don’t believe the Heat need to make any major moves. Terry Rozier is going to provide everything that people expected Damian Lillard to. We have our big three of Rozier, Adebayo and Butler. Spo needs to start Duncan and make Herro the 6th man. I think Jaquez is going to improve too.
