I agree with Colin sometimes and sometimes I disagree but this was the worst take ever. If I am not mistaken, Serbia lost. Jokic can play his game for Serbia. Embiid is not use to this Lebron system they are running. Embiid is missing shots he makes all day long; hence, why he has been the leading scorer for the past 3 years. The whole USA team is centered around Lebron so that he shines because he is forever chasing MJ for the GOAT status but it won't happen. What they are running is not Embiid's game and they also better hope it wins them the gold. They didn't even play Tatum and they left Brown off the roster because this is all about Lebron. It is for Lebron, Steph and KD to look good. I guess for their last time.

I think the biggest stat from yesterday was Serbia was minus 26 in the 9 minutes Jokic didn't play. With him on the floor, Serbia was even with the US.

I think the problem with Tatum is that because it's "his team" and for some insane reason has had a push for being the face of the league he's looked at the same way we look truly great players like Kobe, Iverson, LeBron, or Steph when he's really on that next tier down with guys like Klay, Carmelo, or Jaylen Brown. No matter how good we recognize that they are at what they are good at, there's degrees of separation between them and the true legends. Tatum just isn't on that level and when debated against the opinions that he is, any criticism comes off as hate. If Jrue Holiday doesn't get any minutes nobody cares. We understand. But Tatum doesn't and it's a topic. It wouldn't be a topic if he were as old Steph, LeBron, or KD but he's not. He's just a guy.

This past season he told the team even, that he was not able to go into the 4th quarter, but they couldnt take him out because his +/- was insane when he was off hte floor the 76ers got destroyed vs the Knicks

Joel Embiid was a joke yesterday! He was one of the reason that the US started so slowly.
He was -20 at some point. He was playing when they went down early, and then when he came back, the lead USA had shrank to mid-single digits. His minutes were VERY bad for the team.
Embiid cried for his MVP and finally won it. Fact of the matter is that he barely shows up in the playoffs and is always injured. Hes 30 now and I doubt he’s going to be any healthier than before. I’d give it a year or two before his contract becomes one of the worst in the league.
Paired with “Playoff P” it’s fairly obvious what’ll happen in the playoffs this year. Both will either be injured, ramping up or underperforming.

Jokic gets more calls, and no calls from refs than anybody else. Jokic can go through you , push out of the way, no calls. When it comes to refs in NBA, Jokic is the king of refs favoritism.

The only two players in his ENTIRE CAREER who have a negative net rating when paired with Jokic: Emmanuel Mudiay and Facundo Campazzo. That's it. Every single other player he has ever played with has had a positive net rating paired with him.

Ive never thought of it this way... but I can't agree more with Colin here on Tatum is B+ at most in every aspect of the game. He might have overall higher skillset than a lot of other plyers, but there's not a single thing you can pinpoint on Tatum and say he is A/A+ in it.

@@tyriantaylor711 that's true - but that matters less when it is a team of STACKED players. you have players who might have deficiencies, but they are A/A+ in 3 other things. so you put that player next to another one who is A+ in the deficiency of the other one.
e.g. Steph is A+ in shooting, handling, court spread, passing. But is a C at best on defense. That why you bring Drue who is A+ on defense, court spread, game mindset but has deficiencies on scoring etc (He is still a solid B in that regard)

Embiid isn't overhyped, he just needs to find his use. Tatum is being outplayed by D White, who was just added to the team, and Jrue Holiday, who both played better than Tatum in the Finals with the exception of the final games when Boston was up by 20.

Embiid is just getting over a serious injury. We can't read too much into his Olympic performance. He has torched The Joker numerous times in head to head battles, and last season he was the best in the league statistically before suffering a season ending injury.

I agree that Magic, Jokic, and LeBron are 3 of the most effective team helper players in history. But there are others that were equally as lethal.
These include Bird, Nash, CP3 and Isiah Thomas. All extremely efficient at scoring and getting teammates involved. Nash is the only one without a championship, but he does have 2 MVPs. It is never said and should definitely be noted that in his prime, Nash experienced fixed game calling from refs especially vs the Lakers. The Blazers and Kings also had holes put in their ships by these same refs vs the Lakers.
Oh... and I think we are forgetting Doncic.
They all run the Point! This make your team better criticism of shooters/scorers started with Nash and should not be considered the same with players that don't run Point. The media wanted to give him the MVP over Shaq, Kobe, and others. Before Nash, true Points were all floor generals whose job was to make the offense run better, be the 2nd most efficient scorers, emergency, and 2nd or even 3rd scoring options. Next thing you know "everybody" especially the best players, wanted to run the point. Lebron came into the league at Point Forward, and he and position-less basketball took over the league.
I think you're exaggerating the Tatum dynamic quite a bit. And frankly, the LAST thing they need is another "A." Why DON'T they need a guy who's B+ at everything? That's exactly what they need.
Brad got rid of Marcus Smart because he's not nearly a good enough offensive player. He got a BETTER offensive player... but this somehow works better now. Why is that? There's a flaw in this logic. There's a hint of truth to it, but it's not nearly to the level you're saying. Besides, the entire "Alpha" thing is as much mythical as it is fact. If you doubt me, look up the SCIENCE on it.
Tatum's a VASTLY better player than Haliburton or Booker. And God knows he makes better decisions than Ant. No, Kerr just hasn't figured out how to use him, and it's exacerbated by him playing Embiid and Booker.

His first team all NBA 3 years in a row the only person on the Olympic team All-Star MVP All-Star record scoring five time All Star champion let his team in points rebounds and assist for the last 3 years running has the highest Boston Celtics scoring average one of the youngest players ever to 10,000 points and is the all-time leading scorer in the playoffs for any player 26 or under over Kobe Bryant LeBron James Steph Curry and currently tied with the most 50-point games in the last 5 years again tell me how he's overrated or do people just have some reason to try to hate on it

Kerr is known for stupid lineups. Every Warrior fan in the last two years knows this. Kerr loves going small. Kerr is the same guy that almost refused to give Kuminga good minutes until it became impossible for him to not do do. In the World Cup last year Kerr's rotations were bizarre.
The United States clearly has the most overall talent and it is not close. If the United States win the Gold it will NOT be because of good coaching by Kerr. He 'f'd up the World Cup team last year, but it will be close to impossible to eff this team up.
