    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 5 lety +22

      pretty much... Most other RMCs are pricier because they're all custom and require demolition of some kind and all track is different for each. Here all the track is (suppose to be) clone-ible and obviously is a ground up ride with very few footers compared to other rides and requires just the one rail versus two.

    This has to be one of the most unique coaster designs ever made! I truly hope that in the future more parks will add these! I'd love to have one in Florida -w-. A good place for one here would probably be Bush gardens. Perhaps SeaWorld. Also just wanted to let you know. I saw a lot of people telling you to get a new mic. I think that's completely unnecessary. All you really have to do is record in a closet or under a sheet or something, or just lower your background music. No need to pay for something that isn't necessary.

    Damn this looks like a hell of a ride... And this is the first. Imagine after a couple years. RMC is changing the game. I wonder how Intamin and B&M are gonna respond.
    I mean RMC has what 17 coasters and almost all of them are either considered the best ride at their park, or 2nd best....

    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 5 lety +3

      Yeah, I think their response has been just to go to other international markets where RMC isn't. (Yet.) But yeah with the lost cost of these rides and the potential for high returns they're definitely going places. Also, they haven't been very busy now that their conversions or builds like Zadra are finished for the most part so it begs the question where are they and what are they up to? My guess is Six Flags. Cedar Fair seems like more of a one off, but RMC basically owes their existence to Six Flags so perhaps when they call they perk up and listen "hey we want X amount of this coaster." Word on the street is that this gap year was to develop the next bigger, taller, faster, longer raptor for great adventure and the rest of the chain eventually. Come on Aug. 29th, get here faster!

    RMC came in with the idea of improving old wooden coasters and then made enough revenue to pursue their own ideas on wooden coasters and exploration of other track type ideas.

    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 4 lety +1

      @@AmusementLabs they did everything right that intamin did poorly.
      Intamin = general motors
      B&M = Mercedes
      I just hope RMC doesn't let success go to their head and start phoning it in.
      I absolutely loved Goliath in great America and pine for the chance to ride trail Blazer and other original works and their reworking of classic wooden coasters.
      Intamins issue was they were innovated but spread to thin and moved too fast, not perfecting what they created, just moving on to the next biggest and bestest thing while B&M and now RMC innovate and then perfect and master what they present to their clients with the confidence and fortitude for a long term relationship with these clients.

      I mean it might be doable, but quite the task of trying to keep it from slowly pulling itself apart since it wouldn't have another beam to hold itself to. It also would likely develop bumps. Additionally there's a factor of cost and if it really is worth it versus just paying for steel (which will probably be used in the supports either way) and not have to retrack something like this every few years.
      It's definitely possible, but realistically unlikely.

      @crooked-halo Před 5 lety

      It is smooth, however the entire ride has a regular, rhythmic bump, bump, bump as if the separations between track sections is too wide. Combined with the ride's intensity, I found this bothersome.

    • @mandowarrior123
      @mandowarrior123 Před 5 lety

      Track separation needs to be huge to account for heat expansion with this style of track, making it very uncomfortable i hear. Has no ability to "ride" over the bumps either due to cheap carriage design, and no suspension.

    Since the TRex trains are already made for the Trex tracks maybe they should make one that's wider so it can fit 2 people in one row. Maybe an Allo (short for Allosaurus) train or something.

    Thoughts on possible making T-Rex invert coaster?

    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 5 lety

      Sounds like quite the undertaking, but perhaps in the far distant future. I'd like to see that, but a suspended swinging single rail coaster, that'd be super neat in my book.

      I totally agree I have yet to ride a T-Rex but far future is doable. That would be a amazing site. Thanks for the thought!

      Think skateboard wheels and single seat, possibly lay down coaster to reduce the strain and you only need a moderate garden. Launch from a tree house or upstairs window xD

    Does anyone know if any parks in the UK have this type of coaster?

    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 5 lety

      No parks outside of the US currently have one. There are only two at the moment: RailBlazer in California and Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster in Texas.

    • @mandowarrior123
      @mandowarrior123 Před 5 lety

      Yeah, many have monorail rides.(not this brand) Usually used in the kids sections and so on. In the uk it is only worth building a proper coaster if it requires large construction equipment. These mini coasters are good for the us and canada where they put roller coasters in shopping centres and so on, with low throughput. They aren't suitable for full fledged parks, except small cheap rides.

    The way you described the brakes they wouldn't be fail-safe, allowing the train to just rush by in the event of a fault, like an electrical outage. I'm sure that wouldn't be the case. So does somebody know the actuual principle of these brakes?

    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 5 lety

      They're essentially sealed all the time in the up position along with tensioners. The system basically removes air to lower them.

    The only problem with the RMC single track models seem to be capacity. I know the T-REX is 2 abreast but the Raptor only has 1.

    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 5 lety

      Yeah, that's ultimately the downfall I'd say. I've always wondered if they'd do two across, but in a B&M wing style. One person on each side next to the rail with no floor.

      It is a "cheap" design for smaller parks with smaller attendance and smaller budgets. This way they can add a power-punch "top billing" quality coaster....within their price point.

    Is it possible to make a miniature costum designed model of this ride?

    • @AmusementLabs
      @AmusementLabs  Před 4 lety

      Oh I tried, itd be far too large. There would have been nothing miniature about it. Perhaps a much shorter layout, but I dont really have the room at the moment.

      userphilman the T. rex is cost effective? Making the single beam lightweight shouldn’t be 2 hard and then supports can be spread apart since it’s a single beam
