  • Hey everyone, in this video, I discuss what I believe are the most intense roller coasters located at Six Flags Magic Mountain, in order from least intense to most intense. For the purposes of this video, I mostly interpret intensity as having a feeling of sheer speed, considerable positive G forces, or moments that make you feel like you are gonna be ripped apart from the ride. Keep in mind that this list does not reflect my overall opinion of each ride, and that these are also all simply my opinions. I would love to see what you find to be the most intense roller coasters that you have ridden are as well!
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the video, if so, then please remember to like and subscribe! :) Thanks!! :D

Tatsu is the only coaster that has made me contemplate my mortality. It all started during the climb to the top. The steel beams looked huge against the tiny trees that grew tinier by the second. Panic set in as I dangled vulnerably from the sky. Once we took off, my mind asked questions like, “What if it derails, and we go flying off the track?” Next thing I know, a hysterical woman is screaming expletives and phrases like, “WE’RE GOING TO DIE!” and “JESUS, WHY?” As the train pulled into the station, it was with profound humiliation that I learned the truth: I was the hysterical woman.

SAME. Good God that was AWFULLLL in the most greatest way! Sooo intense and terrifying feels like your just gonna fall right out. I ain’t gonna lie I shed a tear on the way up then had to just put my mind in another world the rest of the ride 😂 I didn’t realize it faced straight down till after waiting 2 hours in line so I couldn’t back out lol and when my friend that never really gets scared on them and the GROWN man next to me was repeatedly saying on the way up “oh my god oh my god oh my god” it was gonna be terrifying lol but I do NOT regret getting on! Made me feel like a bad ass. Amazingly awful 10/10 and worth the wait

yo so before i ever road Tatsu, I had a dream I fell off of it and flew into the trees after the first drop. It was soo weird, because even tho I had never ridden the ride, my dream was legit somehow seeing exactly how the ride operated. The dream took place at night, and so i avoided riding it at night out of some fear it was premonition for the longest time. When I eventually did ride it at night, it felt like dejavu (not the ride but damn do i miss that one!). Thankfully i didnt fall off of it, but i know somewhere in some other universe, I must have because g-damn that fall was so real. Pour one out and RIP to my other self

Some rides you kind of feel like “wow I waited so long in line for this?” But not with this. REGARDLESS of having it break down while I was waiting in line and riding it.
I loved it and it was great!
The fastest one I’ve been on is twisted colossus and it was insane! I did not like it
I mean maybe cause I did not expect it considering my friend said it was a “chill ride” I seriously did not expect it and felt absolutely sick. I loved the feeling of adrenaline after. But something I need to note is that it doesn’t feel very safe and you definitely you feel like you’re gonna fly out of your seat but if that’s what you like then go for it! Tatsu was the first big roller coaster I came to love, and part of the reason I could overcome my fear is for some reason I find the superman position calming. I find the pretzel loop very relaxing, it pushes me back in my seat and feels like a nice weighted blanket on me :D

now i haven’t ridden either coaster in about 3+ years and definitely haven’t ridden the gci retrack but you are 100% correct in the fact that the overall pacing of apocalypse is great/much better than ghostrider and provides a more intense experience out of the gate, plus it suits the theming by focusing on speed and laterals. however as an orange county native, throughout my entire life riding ghost rider from my first ride in kindergarten to my most recent night ride during knotts scary farm, it murders apocalypse in the intensity in regards to airtime and headchoppers. i think they both offer different rides and when people think of top coasters people tend to think of flashy air time moments or drops rather than a whole experience start to finish. while i would agree apocalypse is overall a more intense ride ghost rider is a significantly more impactful and memorable ride.
P.S. if you haven’t gotten the chance to ride ghostrider at night do it it’s absolutely insane

Thanks for the input! I have similarly been riding both of these coasters ever since I was about 5 to 6 years old. I have ridden both in the front and back, day and night, rain and shine, and for me, I have always seen Ghostrider as a more relaxed ride, with the larger, more drawn out elements. And of course my video explains my thoughts on Apocalypse. Both are great coasters and I don't dislike Ghostrider in any way, I just feel that Apocalypse gets overlooked upon because of Ghostrider, even though it is a very solid coaster. Either way, I'll be riding El Toro in a few weeks for the first time, so I'll likely have a new top wooden coaster soon!

The first drop on Goliath into the tunnel made one of the discs in my back compress, I literally felt it ‘squish’! • @M-NL2

So the only cost to ride stuff at this park (and pretty much all major amusement parks in America) is an admission cost, whether it be a single-day ticket, a season pass, membership, etc. Once you are inside the park though, pretty much everything is free to ride! There are a few additional-fee attractions such as slingshots, go-karts, and skycoasters, but other than that, you can ride as many things as you want with no extra costs!

I always go left for Tatsu, X2, Sunday: The Ride, West Coast Racers, Apocalypse, CraZanity, and Riddler's. The main reason is because skip-the-lines are not usable for X2, West Coast Racers, Sunday: The Ride, or CraZanity. I later use my flash pass skip-the-lines on Full Throttle, Goliath, Twisted Colossus, and then usually another Tatsu or something else.

X2 is awesome.. My last ride was in the very back seat and it made all rides before on it feel puny LOL. It was so intense I had no idea what was happening and loved it all the same. Tatsu's pretzel is insane, again I find that to be a back seat ride for sure. But you are correct, the rest of the ride is graceful and more scenic than anything. However that pretzel is enough to really stand out and make it a desirable multi ride. Goliath is the weirdest hyper coaster ever. It does nothing for the first half then slams you in your seat for the second half and the only coaster I have ever greyed out on. Every ride. I only got one spot of air time on it, ever, in the very front row over the camelback. It's also the only hyper I know of that doesn't have a single spot of airtime in the back. I kind of hate it overall to be honest and keep hoping beyond hope it's replaced with a B&M hyper. Apocalypse was closed last time I was there, which was usual for me LOL. I don't really like GCI woodies, I much prefer the old CCI and now Gravity Group layouts, but I will definitely ride it if it's open next time. As far as Scream, I am 6 ft 3 and yet still have had some nasty ear bashing on that ride which I never got on its clone Medusa at SFGA. I find Riddlers to give me a headache every time, there is this kind of rattle in it that vibrates my head the entire ride and even made me feel sick last time. It's not rough in any way, it's hard to explain, it's like a vibration. I adore Batman and it's one of only two coasters that makes my legs literally feel full of pins and needles in the end helix. Full Throttle is underrated and has great hang time and a crazy spot of airtime at the end. Viper is a nothing to me and always was, I don't feel intensity or pleasure on it but have ridden it maybe 10 times in both front and back. I hate the brakes brining you to a full stop (although I am thankful for that on Goliath's mid course lol) but it's not THAT rough for an arrow multi looper. I preferred the GASM at Great Adventure. I missed Ninja in this list and find it to be an underrated ride. I do agree with most of the ratings here but Twisted C was being built when I was last there so I haven't ridden that nor West Coast Racers, obviously. I am glad in a way that I waited as next visit will mean my first RMC single rail as well. Three all new steel coasters I have never been on and one woodie, so it will be an amazing trip.
