    Because I started racing at 25 years old I did to the number the exact same thing my first time. My youngest niece who was 9 at the time was like uncle Trevor go faster. She’d been racing since she’s 6

    Racetrack is NOT ready to be ran on hard, period. Anyone that's ever been in a dirt late model will tell you that. Don't think the guy/girl did a bad job on such a dry track. Put a few hundred gallons of water on it, have a group come out and pack it and THEN let him/her turn it loose. That shit's MUCH harder than it looks. I can Guarantee that. Better to take it easy than junk a new ride because the track is crap.

      Alan Underwood when i started racing micro sprints the same thing happened but the track was way more dusty and dry and on a dry track like that you can spin out very easily but when the heat race came by and they put water on the track I came in second out of 10 cars

      It's a closed practice how much water and expenses should they put in it for a practice session sure it's dusty and dry but it's not prepared for a regular event so relax before you call the track a piece of crap

    • @alanunderwood7936
      @alanunderwood7936 Před 4 lety +2

      @@sillygoose2508, help me out, where did I call the track a piece of crap. Trolls were giving the driver shit. I've been there and done that, so yeah I stated that given the track conditions the driver did not do a bad job. As for how much expense should someone put into a test session. Well, assuming the car is a brand name car (even an old Rayburn), the car, motor, tires, etc. probably cost at a minimum $30K. I'd want to do my real testing on a track that was prepared properly. So another 45 mins of track prep would have been well worth them money. As for relaxing.... bless your heart

      @@alanunderwood7936 the very last words please look at what you said the tracks crap okay let's look at this from a economically point of view do you know how much it costs to drop not only hundreds of gallons of water but generally thousands of gallons of water and to pack it in for a regular event that's cool it the price of doing business but to do that for someone that what's to shake down a car unless they come you with a fist full dollars it doesn't make sense if you want to shake it down under race conditions do like most newbies do take the tail of the field and when you hear the pack coming up on you don't trip and please let me restate what I just said don't trip

    Anyone who put a "Thumbs Down" is a jerk! It's drivers like this, pushing themselves to move up, is where the future of the sport is. I liked watching a new driver get their first experience with that much performance AND...he kept it off the wall and it didn't cost anyone a repair bill! Good for him and all the best, on track.

    East Lincoln is a pretty short track but it makes for real good short track racing! have been there 3 times in the last 2 months and I have enjoyed the action so far. Went 2 weeks ago and the track was real wet during hot laps but by the end of the night it was starting to get pretty dusty. Will be there this Sunday for the Race City Steel Fall Brawl!

      Scrabbling for traction, maintaining proper torque, determining braking zones, sliding the car around the corners without losing traction, and being cooped up tightly with many other drivers. (There’s way more to oval racing, people. Just because you don’t turn right doesn’t mean it’s easy racing)

    Good job man i been racing sonce i was 8 started in a very fast 4 cylinder mustang mini stock on asphalt and dirt woth same car the series ran and my mom raced against me as well. My forst race was asphalt small quarter mile and had probably 5 laps pf practice in before then showed up couldnt hot lap due to clutch slipping so dad had to put a new clutch in made the heat race juat in time to finiah second and i eneded up winning the feature and lapped the whole field up to the 4th place car there was 21 cars that started. And we lied about my age back in 03 you had to be 11 to drive ministocks with track owners digression and series as well. After my heat race the aeries promoter and track owmer said well I guess your now 11 years old bud. But i remeber my forst ever dirt race was the following season after i got more experience and man was it fun and a blast. I looked like a monkey humping a football out there i spun out 4 times in a 10 lap heat but by feature time I had it figured out and placed 2nd in my forst eber dort feature and got track champion at three tracks and rookie of year at three amd series champion amd rookie of year both years cuse forst year there was only 2 dirt races on schedule and we had to drop two worat races so I could skip the dirt races the first year. But my first time in a dirt latemodel I learned very fast that you gotta stay up on the bars and faster you go easier it is to drive it was way different then my ump dirt modified to its awsome feeling in a 800 to super latemodel on dirt

    I have a question. Every time I'm at the track after the cars race they always blip the throttle (usually twice) while coming off of the track. Is this because you are downshifting or are you just reving for the fans?

    • @allenelswick6961
      @allenelswick6961 Před 4 lety

      When late models became modern you have two shift levers. One is for reverse and the other shift lever is to go forward, only one forward gear, no shifting, you do still have a clutch pedal and you will do a lot of braking. With one car on the track you can hear when the driver lets up on the gas just as he is starting to enter the turn and then he will jump back up to full throttle to get the car in a slide move. This is only a part of what go's on out on the track with your car.
