Resistance bands are great. If you are training with them long term make sure you have many different increments of weights so you can apply progressive overload and increase the weight over time.

rubber bands is good for techniques training. I use this for uchikomi and fix the techniques with it.

I look at Elastic Bands just like another tool in the tool bag. We've got Kettlebells,Steel Maces,Dumbbells,Weight Vest, Bulgarian Bag, Medicine Ball,Sand Bags, etc..... Many many tools to choose from. Most of them are to work build. Towards the main lifts. Like Squat, Bench, and Deadlift. Like a Trap Bar. Another amazing piece of equipment. That puts you in a better center of gravity. To perform a variation of a dead lift or a squat. It's not saying stop doing Barbell squats or deadlifts all together. It's to build the main muscle movers/motor recruitment involved in these lifts. While at the same time keeping your low back etc. fresh. Like a Safety Squat Bar beautiful piece here. So you can perform Squats,Good Mornings, or Lunges. Build all of these muscles involved. While keeping your elbows fresh from a standard Olympic barbell. Also bands are amazing when you combine them with them with Bench, Squat, Deadlifts. The elasticity changes eccentric aspect of a lift. Increasing more neuro muscular kinetic chain muscle fiber recruitment activity. By applying accommodating resistance. Louie Simmons(RIP) from West Side Barbell. Is famous for bringing this to light.
