Why do headset reviews always forget the inline mic quality test.

    • @nielzdg
      @nielzdg Před 6 lety +1

Well I can tell you the sound quality from in-line mic is very muddy and unclear sounding, and it's exceptionally good at making background noise come through very loud.

So I got my E10C a week ago and here's what I think of them.
    Pros :
-Powerful yet tight, controlled and precise bass. The bass is simply the star of the earphones. The sub bass is also present but in miniscule amount. The bass is hands down the best I've heard so far, making these earphones far from accurate, but a lot of fun. The bass hits you hard, but never seem to overwhelm other frequencies. Not basshead quantity but its presence is definitely impactful. Some quality bass I'd say.
-Crisp highs. They were sometimes ear tingling but after burn-in, I can safely say that the highs have become pleasant to my ears.
-Wide soundstage. You can really listen to sounds and instruments from different parts of the mental space in your head.
    -Airy quality to the vocals.
-Little to zero sibilance. (you know, the emphasis on the "S" and "T" sounds).
-The instruments hit hard and sound sharp, giving you a very lively listening experience.
-Good noise isolation. Blocks out ongoing conversations around you, but loud noises are still audible.
-Good build quality. Looks gorgeous. Inline remote works perfectly. Plenty of eartips to choose from.
    Cons :
-Lackluster mids. On some songs, the mids are good. Vocals are pretty forward and there is some detail. On some songs, however, the vocals sound like they're coming from a distance. And it's like the vocals are sandwiched in between the loud, powerful bass and crisp, sparkly highs. Sometimes I can barely hear the singer, so I have to crank up the volume. Imagine watching a live performance whereby you have a hard time listening to the singer's singing as the instruments are much louder. On songs focusing on the vocals, the earphones perform well, though.
-Requires a lot of burn-in for the earphones to perform well. When I first listened to them out of the box, I was beyond disappointed. The vocals were extremely thin, like they were just air and have no body. Sibilance was prominent, and the overall sound was muddy and very unclear. After a long, 32 hours of burn-in, they finally sound amazing. You can download the 1more assistant on play store to burn-in your earphones as there are resting periods for the earphones at intervals during the burn-in.
-Sharp edges of the right driver housing sometimes push against my inner ear, leaving a very uncomfortable feeling when listening to songs, so I have to readjust it a few times.
-May cause fatigue after a while. On some songs you have to crank up the volume so that the vocals are more forward. As a result, the already loud bass gets louder, and that can be pretty fatiguing.
-Mediocre instrument separation. On some songs, the instruments get mashed up and it's hard to tell them apart, but I personally don't care.
So who are these earphones for? If you're looking for a pair of earphones with stellar dynamic range, a fun, V-shaped sound signature with excellent, quality bass, good build quality and a universally compatible inline remote, then you can't go wrong with the E10C. Don't judge them too quickly out of the box like I did. Thanks!

I have been using the Soundmagic E10 for nearly 2 years now. They sound absolutely great on all my phones :
    i) the oldest Sony E1 : The quality of the bass through the 'clear bass' setting of its equalizer is superb on the Soundmagic E10.
As a mobile, the Sony is in retirement owing to its small display, low internal storage, and the very unfriendly Kit Kat O.S.
But it is still the phone that i love to listen to music though the E10.
ii). the Micromax Fire 4 armed with the Wolfson- Cirrus Logic DAC Soundchip. Produces crystal clear treble on the stereo front speakers and heart-stopping bass on the *E 10.*
I also found that the dedicated DAC on this phone really extended the treble end of the sound spectrum which the E10 could easily handle. I found it while listening to Def Lepard's Hysteria, where, during the guitar interlude, the cymbals sounded much clearer and discrete through the *SM-E10*.
This mobile too is in retirement because of my migration to 4G.
iii) the Lenovo K4 Note with its Dolby Audio capabilities. The *Soundmagic E1O* simply thunders under the Dolby settings.
Thus while these phones are from different generations, the *Soundmagic has been superb* on all these phones.
But if there is one feature of this earphone that I would like to be improved, it is most certainly - the cable.
In order to make it tangle free, the outer sheath has been made of a kind of plasticky shiny material ( China make), instead of a textured rubber.
After a year of use, the sheath *simply flakes off* every few inches along the cable, leaving the inner wires exposed.
The astonishing thing is that the phones still work marvellously, though it will only be a matter of time before the wires break in one or more of the exposed places.
This design may not be suitable for the *tropical weather conditions* here in India, where the heat could cause this flaking away of the plastic.
I wonder whether the E10C has seen a design change; for a more rugged rubber in place of the flaky plastic.

I just got a pair of the E10C's and have to admit that I am not overly blown away by the sound quality.
I think I might have expected a bit too much - due to all the good reviews everywhere.
The sound just sounds a bit - plasticy - if that is even a word.

These are not that good as people say. The bass is like theyd put a hard limiter on the lower bass frequencies. Mid and hight bass is ok. The membrane is pumping in your ear but is not producing rich bass. It just all right.
I could recommend it only for people that do not like bass.
And dont give me that crap about linear sound... A bass is like any other frequency. You need to hear it ;)

the clarity is so much better JVC's nice for bass but they did have a way of killing the clarity.. soundmagic E10c have a lower volume but a much purer sound, much better than double the price headphones..

I brought Soundmagic e10C. But it has no bass. I can clearly feel the diference even if i compared it with a cheap sennheiser earphone i have. I dont know what is the problem. I want to know whether the one i got has some problem or it doesn't have bass in general. Thank you.

    • @cliff1745
      @cliff1745 Před 6 lety +1

The bass that we notice the most is the sub bass and low bass, and if you're talking about that, then yeah, the Soundmagic E10 only have a tiny tiny amount of it. But there is plenty of midbass which makes the vocals sound very warm and slightly muffled. It doesn't have that bright sound or neutral tone as compared to other earphones.

I'm still wating for my 10c's, ordered them from amazon; but I already had a pair or nrg 3.0 and I must say that althought sound quality and crispness are great if you isolate them or tweak them from the bass, overall the bass gets all over the place. Nice sound, poor pre tune up. Not suitable for rock or balanced music. Might be good for EDM or hip hop I suppose. Hope this helps.

Aman Khan I am a not sure what your experience with headphones is, but if you’ve never had a higher end headphone (not from Bose, Beats, and other large name headphone brands), then you might not be used to the “lack” of bass. It may be that the bass is normal, but you are used to bass-y, bad headphones
