I think the reason why Swing hasn't popped off as well as expected is because it's already based on Ball's dual mode, just that you can do it with 2 player mode enabled. It's got a niche reason to exist for most demons
The 2.1 swing was really hard to implement smoothly tho
No, id say it's more because hard swing sections are super annoying. It is near impossible to tell which direction you're going, which means without memorizing clicks spam sections can be luck based.
I like to imagine it's like the ball and the ship combined into one gamemode... and people will get used to it eventually. We've been used to the same seven gamemodes for around seven years, it'll take some time to get used to the new one.
I used it in my level and I think it’s cool because of how it interacts with orbs

0:06 was probably the most fire in the hole in a level that I’ve ever seen
At first I thought the exact same things about the copyright and Nintendo stuff...but another video taught me that every rated level is endorsed by RobTop and he has the permission for the copyrighted music on them (what he didn't have with the art from god eater and Woodkid) so if I go from that...I'd expect RobTop to actually have permission to use Nintendo's content or other franchises and that would honestly be a genius move.
I think all of those references are great...I mean, doom swingcopter, portal gun ship (maybe the elephant cube is inspired by "this is the only level"?) Etc etc...i really love these references.

2.2 is very crazy I was hoping to end of 2.1 with a rate level which would have led to plenty of likes finishing the 50 likes steam achievement completing all steam achievements but when I sent my level to a mod they said about sending it and they forgot 💀💀💀💀 oh well I could always start a new level. Also let's prey we don't get another God eater situation that would be bad! can't wait for the year 3079 when 2.3 comes out.
RobTop says he's planning to release 2.21 in 6 months, and to release updates at a faster rate. We're more likely to get 2.3 in early or late 2024 / 2025 than late 3079. At that point, we'd just have something like 10.0 for the past 900 something years at this rate of updates. Oh well. (I know it's a joke, don't r/woooosh me, for anyone replying.)

On a more serious note: Nintendo never took down Geometry Dash before, despite it including Super Mushroom, Shy Guy, and Kirby icons; not to mention the Clown Car UFO and Super Mario World-inspired background!
I guess the icons count as fair use, in this case.

i absolutly love the swing. it is a bit hard to work out but after that you could make very hard gameplay with like 10 saws.

As a veteran platformer I am definitely switching my demon hunting to platformer levels. It is quite shocking to think I can beat something like "I Wanna Be The Guy" while I struggle to beat a regular GD Hard Demon (still haven't) or in some cases Easy Demons or Medium Demons. I have yet to beat HeLL by Serponge, and that isn't even considered a Hard Demon by RobTop apparently.
You could make the argument that the community isn't used to regular platformer levels, and I get that. I also get that I will milk the heck out of them orbs and moons while they catch on >:D

I think the problem with 2.2 rn is really just the slope physics. I really, really hope that rob either fixes them or at least has 2.1 and older levels run on a legacy mode

Just imagine a straight swingcopter fly with random gravity, ×4 times speed and time wrap trigger on max (2.00), screen rotate trigger being abused as heck and invert and glitch triggers set to 999 strength-
2.2 is literally one of the best updates a game could receive
2:46 Just no. Item Edit allows you to make basically any math equation like ever, which is essential for games with complicated algorithms and shit. You can make a funcitoning AI with it. gradient trigger is purely visual.

One of my favorite parts of 2.2 is the new robot animations. My favorite gamemode is also the robot (unbiased) and these animations are just too much
I think platformer mode is quickly making robot a lot more popular. Its the best gamemode for platformers imo
