For the past two centuries, New York has been the largest and wealthiest American city. New York always meant possibility, for it was an urban centre on its way to something better. Being both foreign and fearsome, a place where turmoil, arrogance, incivility, and cruelty tests the stamina of everyone who enters it.
With a population of 8.6 million people Consisting of 5 boroughs, Manhatten, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. New York is the most ethnically diverse, religiously varied, commercially driven, famously congested, and, in the eyes of many, the most attractive urban centre in the country. No other city has contributed more images to the collective consciousness of Americans: Wall Street means finance, Broadway is synonymous with theatre, Fifth Avenue is automatically paired with shopping, but if you are someone like me who balls on a budget, the high quality bootleg apparel they sell on canal street is pretty good. Got myself a plush PSG Neymar Jr. jersey for 20 bucks and Harlem evokes images of the Jazz Age, African American aspirations, and slums. New York has more Jews than Tel Aviv, more Irish than Dublin, more Italians than Naples, and more Puerto Ricans than San Juan. Its symbol is the Statue of Liberty, but the metropolis is itself an icon, the arena where people of every nation are transformed into Americans
a conglomeration of local neighbourhoods that provide them with familiar cuisines, languages, and experiences. New York is perhaps the most fitting representative of a diverse and powerful nation.
Art: New York is just sooo damn huge, with so much to do with what ever tickles your fancy. Sports is just a blip on what this town has to offer. Having 2 teams for each major sport in America. You see the dilution. The game is thursday, so that means I have short week in New York. To do and see all things I want, i gotta have that New Yorker Hustle and Bustle. Early Mornings and Late nights to run through everything. I love seeing sights as much as the next person, but I naturally travel through food. So you know I went on a culinary journey.
Narration: #1 on the list… New york style pizza, a no brainer. I was staying in queens so I hit the streets for the italian Eats. The first pizzeria established in America was in 1905 by Gennaro Lombardi. I pull up to Sunnyside Pizzeria, and they did not dissapoint with their slices.
Art: I head to Chinatown for Chinese food at Spicy Village: A small quaint restaurant where I have a spicy beef udon noodle dish.
New York City's Chinatown, the largest Chinatown in the United States located on the lower east side of Manhattan.
Art: Now time for dessert…. Cheesecake. I went to Eileen’s Cheesecake. They have been trapping out these creamy delights since 1975 and by many publications are touted as one of the best, if not THE BEST cheesecake location in all of NY.
    (talk about eating cheesecake)
Can’t forgetthe All-American New York Dog at Time square and the Nathan’s dog on Coney Island. While I was up in Coney Island, I decided to walk the boardwalk and put my feet in the ocean, giving me a chance to reflect on the trip thus far. The team has had a rocky start thru 5 games. going 2-3. People are nervous that we may not turn it around… but I have faith that we will. Ring dreams are still alive and well. and by the way…. the atlantic ocean water is sooo much warmer than the pacific!!! felt so good.
