Pilot Mountain, North Carolina

We first visited Pilot Mountain in 2016 on a road trip. We only had one night, and always wanted to return, so we made the effort on this trip to spend a couple of nights in this log cabin in the woods. It's not quite as creepy as it looks, but you definitely don't want to be watching too many "they went into the woods to stay for the weekend in a log cabin" type horror movies before visiting. It was a very peaceful stay, as you can see in the video we did very little - visited the small town of Pilot Mountain (great antique mall), walked up the mountain, visited the larger town of Winston-Salem and went for a row on the camp lake.

Hmmmm............ I've seen a few of those slasher movies where unsuspecting cabin dwellers get harassed by 'not-right-in-the-head back country folk'!! Or mum's on a revenge trip! Gulp!

@@brendonjudd4944 yep, I’ve seen a few too many of those movies too … wasn’t venturing out after dark (let alone the giant bugs that would probably also bite / sting / maim you) 🤣
