well, I went up to NH 3 times to work on the Bus rescue ....that is 24 hours of driving / gas , 3 vids so 20 hours editing , cabin rental , food, and 20 plus hours of digging and jacking ...I stopped counting at $1500 and that was a while ago lol....oh and the cost of the Bus :). I love it up there so it's all good👍
My back started aching just watching that, bucket boy!! Thank God you brought 15 jacks!! Way to show us how to get it done! Good stuff buddy! I wonder how much of it ended on the road when you got pulled over..
I was yelling at my computer screen to put the come-a-long on the winch cable and pull it to the side of the trailer to change the pulling angle. Didn't you hear me? HAHAHA Nicely done. An amazing amount of hard work to get a rusty pile out of the woods. Why is doing this stuff so enjoyable? I know I love it, and my friends do, too.
My god man. That was an incredible amount of labor to pull that bus out! What a rescue. Damn that had to feel good when it was finally on the trailer. As I watched you and being in my 50's, I thought, "I'm too old for that shit". lol. Great job rescuing the bus!
Oh wow, that camper-body is just falling in on itself near the bus there... XD What you needed to rescue this bus was a bulldozer with those long forks they use at the car-yards! Slide under the whole dang thing and deposit it on the trailer... That you got it anyway is mighty impressive!
Guy!!! I'm so happy you finally got that piece of bus OUT!!! Now what are you gonna rescue from this??!!! Good Luck with whatever you do with it,you deserve it!!!
I’ve said it before J. Amazing. Wasn’t sure if you were getting this one home but you got it done. My hats off to ya. 😄 If I find a four leaf clover I’m definitely sending to you. I think you need some good luck! Thanks! 😉
👍👌👏 Okay, Sir, you really did it! Stubbornness, toughness and ingenuity paired with a good portion of masochism solved a herculean task. Because this rust bucket isn't blue, I don't know if your wife will be proud of you. 😁 ;-) Best regards, luck and health in particular.
@@5150mxVW in Lu of an comment close to mine , the bus exist and was going back into the earth … so in my eyes 👀 that one like most all of my saves are worth it ,

Awesome job man, determination is your middle name, glad ya got it,glad ya made it home safe, and even tho everything seemed messed up,atleast the chainsaw started up and ran good, lol awesome video
Great watch love watching from England in Cornwall. Hats off lots of hard work there. Magic moments magic memories. The VW life for sure it's the passion that drives us on.
SOOOOOOOO happy you won the battle! What a one-man effort and a never give up attitude. Thanks for sharing the epic battle, can't wait to see you get that one back on the road based on what it took you get it out of it's grave.
I gotta give a lot of props for getting this thing out of there, but I can’t imagine how much of this bus is actually usable. I hope it’s worth all this effort.
Well my friend for determination you get 10 out of 10 but what will you be able to do with it now you have it home I am so curious to know your dedication to rescuing these VWs is great best wishes Andy.
That was a day you could really have done with a rescue buddy.!!!! Surely one of the hardest recoveries? Massive respect from the UK, Jason. In awe at your tenacity and ingenuity. Hope the bus can be saved after all of that.
I think by far this was the hardest rescue that I've seen you do!! I admire your Yankee ingenuity and never give up attitude!! I hope that your able to some day get the camper van back on the road!! Thank you for saving a piece of automotive history!! Sir my hat is off to you!!
I'm actually jealous about that 😊, I'm also in love with this model😍. Many years ago I drove this model for a travel agency to take English tourists to and from hotels here in Ostend Belgium, now I can only dream of that😕.
Well done Sir Jason! Great perseverance and a watchable set of videos. Looked like the van had a smile on it's face as you towed it out at the end in the dark. Emosh!
How impressive is that! All alone, camera set ups doing a seemingly impossible rescue. Hats off brother! I hope it turns out to be rewarding for you. You earned it for sure.
Well done again Jason ! That was terrific. I felt the pain !. Will you do another video on the state of the bus and what happens next ?. It was very worthwhile rescuing that, a restorer will rescue it. I think the twin cab Mike Fn Garage did two years ago was in about the same state as that one, he rebuilt the frame and all body work. It’s now back on the road - bright orange bucket truck. Looks superb.
was thinking that trailer could use some accessories like they have on flatbed wreckers. Maybe a snatch block with a hook that can grab on the side to pull from an off angle. You could augment that with a piece of 2x4 square tube stuffed into one of the stake pockets, then weld a series of hooks at different heights to pull low or high using that snatch block. (weld an L brace on that so side punning levers against the floor) Also carry an old rim which can be used to raise the pulling angle of the winch cable... and it will roll along the bed.
Enjoy your rescues definitely more fun than restoring them. I had a sissor jack with a welded nut and a 1/2 drive ratchet with cheater pipe. You could make have easier time with the drum puller that way.
Jason, I have to give you credit! Jen as well! I cant imagen what she thought when she saw that on the trailer, and thank goodness the law was kind to you! I cant imagen what motivates you but I admire it so much! I love watching everyone of your rescues each and everyone is epic! Hope you have a great vacation with the family! Thanks for doing what you do!
Great job! Marines never give up, never give in, AND never willingly accept second best. That was you. You earned my subscription, mate. Semper Fi. Semper Paratus.
Never Give Up, Never Surrender. Commander Taggart would be proud. The parting shot of the bus face fading into darkness was classic. Nice job !!
You never quit. You did it. WOW!
You are an absolute bloody star 🌟 🤩 I still cannot get over the fact that you did it!! Congratulations from Cape Town, South Africa,.🥳🥳🥳
