Yo, could you imagine? 😂😂😂 I'd be getting size men 6s all the time or size 10s if the GX2 was men's sizing and the Luna2 was women's. It would have been a confusing nightmare!

Great review, and as always appreciate the “4 annoying things” part of the review. No boot is perfect and it's good to have a little bit of criticism thrown at them so that you get a full view of what the boot is.
The cyclone soleplate is probably Nike’s worst tooling ever. I’m so disappointed with this change. The GX1 is an instant classic and the Luna was a complete flop, why would Nike decided to continue with it?

Are they for wide feets? I can't decide, phantom gx or Tiempo 10 pro or vapor 15 pro. I bought adidas copa 2.1. They seem comfortable when I wear them, but they somehow numb my feet during the match. I want to sell them and buy something else. @@rareretroboots
And just like that all of Nike’s marketing spiel about the Luna being a women’s specific boot designed “for her” has been quickly swept under the rug 😂
So much for the cyclone plate being specifically designed & researched to accommodate the female anatomy and prevent common injuries in the women’s game… Now they’ve slapped it on the GX2, massively contradicted themselves & made a potentially worse boot also. Quite shameless from Nike in my opinion.
Since all i play on these days is AG its nice that you comment on the AG version and the differences there. I prefer a stiffer sole plate but do love my GX1. Based on this I will maybe see if i can get a pair of these in AG on discount sometime down the road. But not a day one purchase for me
I recently brought the GX2's. Extremely comfortable and great for passing and shooting.

I’d say that in comparison, the phantom gx dfs were way too tight for me. Happy with the decision. I’d say everyone try them on for yourself before making too many judgements!

That’s interesting. I was wondering how they were going to do the AG plate for this. Definitely helps sell this one a bit more for me, but the GX1 upper was just too good to change already.

At this point we should just all buy Mizuno’s MIJ. Not that big of a price difference anymore yet the quality is drastically different.

It’s definitely something that will split opinion, yeah. I like the forefoot area a lot but that soft midfoot isn’t really my jam either. Would have preferred the GX 1 tooling if I’m honest, even with the soft midfoot on that as well. /Jay

are the studs on the fg variant as long as the luna 1's? bought a pair to use for soft ground that I just don't get on with, they were always wayyyyy too long to play on turf and my ag gx's are my turf babies for as long as they hold together. Considering the predator 30's as I was raised on tongued preds but alsoooo maybe just thinking sg pro gx's?! also someone please help me make my mind up xo

The GX 2 will take over from the GX 1, so there won't be any more new colourways from that and they will stop production of GX 1. /Jay

It kinda reminds me of Nike Mercurial Vapor 14 Elite AG-PRO Blueprint the boots that were my favorite but that i broke, i needed a new pair so i got nike phantom gx1 in green. But the downside of that was i think the lack of my power and think that blue fit’s me more weel. So i think im probaly gonna get one so i can feel more comfortoble, but remember if you want to do it better you have to get out of your comfortoble zone or die trying….
does anyone know if the gaping on the ankle of the low cut gx will eventually mould to your foot? i have them but there is a lot of room and it’s really putting me off
Wonder if I’ve made a mistake going for a half size up as the websites recommended a whole size up 😬. They arrive this weekend so hoping it fits well (I went for the lunas)
I got mine one size up and they seem to be a bit big but I can still defiantly play in them let me know how u feel about yours
@@aahansuniverse3962 for me half a size up worked great, leaves just under a pinky worth of room but my old boots were about a 1/4 size too big so its more 3/4 a size up rather than anything

Personally, I prefer the GX DF for the tighter fit in the heel and the fact that the DF collar means you get less rubber bits inside the boots /Jay

Would you say the soleplate or more or less flexible than the GX1? A complaint I had with GX was on softer grass the flexible soleplate had a sluggish feeling that I don't feel with more stiff plates.
Actually they’re quite similar in that regard - both have a soft and slightly sluggish midfoot in my book. I find the Cyclone tooling to be a little more responsive in the forefoot than the GX 1, so that would be my pick if you’re after something that offers a quick snappy power transfer… but honestly they’re both quite soft and flexible so might want to look at other boots entirely if responsiveness is what you’re after.

usually it is but he made a review before and said the shoe kinda shapes into your feet perfecetly so it will be as if your playing with your feet plus better grip

No, it feels just as grippy - in normal and wet conditions, but it's just on drier surfaces like AG pitches that you feel the difference. /Jay

recently bought a pair perfect boot shap very comfy only critism is the soles, i have wide feet but theirs a part of the sole where my foot is wider, i had to swap out my soles since this was uncomfortable for me personally.

Yeah I think they would have appealed to more people by keeping the GX 1 plate. I like Cyclone 360 for what it does, but would probably also have preferred to stay with the GX 1 tooling - even though it had its flaws with the soft midfoot in my book. /Jay

To clarify there WON’T be a GX 2 with the GX 1 tooling - at least not for the FG boots. The AG-Pro outsole from GX 1 is being carried over and will also be on the GX 2.
