From one grieving pet parent to another, peace.
My dog died in 2017 at the age of 20. He was, of course, the best dog in the world. He died in my arms and his grave is in our garden. I miss him every day 🌈❤️

Putting my dog down was one of the most painful things I've ever had to do. Been 3 years and I still haven't recovered. Don't think I ever will. They are a special kind of family. Truly a gift from God.
You won't ever fully recover but in a few years, the pain and guilt will fade. You did nothing wrong putting him down, but it is damn hard to tell your soul that.
I've learned so much from this very thing. The very best thing you can do is run out wrigt away & rescue another dog in need. It may feal like a bad thing but wow it's the total opposite. They help you so much with your pain & healing & you dont suffer near as bad when helping another dog in need & it's a wonderful way of honoring your lost pet by giving another one a loving life because you will be rewarded more then you even realize. This is the gods truth to.
Dog spelled backwards is GOD .. And they truly are sent by Him.

We have a memorial to our pet Thomas, who passed away on 12/23/23, but to be honest, I want to build a wing because we loved that guy more than life itself. Ted, I lost a dog of 20 years last July. I’ve put down many over the years, but this one was hard. As I was praying for God to heal my misery, He told me “Boy, go down to the Animal Rescue League and get you a new dog and shut up”. I went to the animal rescue and asked them for the dog that was not going to get adopted and they gave me a beautiful hound dog who is named Alex. Teaching Alex how things roll in my house has been a treat and Alex learns very quick. Praise God for his mercy and grace!

Sorry for your loss Mr. Nugent, I have had dogs for 60 years and they are part of the family. Also thank you for fighting for our Freedoms and exposing the traitors, God Bless.
We have had no less than 10 dogs and cats in our household for more than 20 years. They've all been strays that find their way onto our farm. We've buried more than our fair share over this time. And based on our experiences I can profoundly say the best way to recover from the loss of burying a furry friend is to open your home and your hearts to another furry friend who is in desperate need of love, care and a family to be a part of.
So sorry for your loss. You're a great patriot.
Bless you and your family!! I completely understand the loss of a beloved Fur-baby!! I recently had to bury another one of my senior felines in 3-25-2024. ( 15 y 7 m old) One on 7-17-2023, he was 15 y 3 m. A third on 1-7-2022, 12 y, and on 9-13-2019 she was 14 y 3 weeks. They all leave paw prints on our hearts!! They all get their wings and are waiting on the other side of the bridge for us, happy and healthy!! 🐾🐈….
I’ve had life companions (Dogs) my whole life. I’m 50 years old now and currently have 2 amazing dogs. Every time through the years I’ve had to bury my loving friends, they take a piece of my soul when they go. And every time I find a new friend, they bring a piece back. I believe that is the connection between Man and K9. Their souls live on, and find you again.

I didn't even know him and I Love Happy! God Bless! My dog Baxter Jackson has been by my side since losing my wife to cancer in 2019. He also wakes me up every morning when the light comes in the window ready for his morning walk. And he keeps me moving, won't let me lay around.... He's the Best Friend Ever!

I used to grieve every pet I lost for about 3 years before I get another dog/cat. But, I lost my last pet about 7 months ago and told myself I'm too old to wait three years to get another. I went to our local sheltter and adopted a dog right before Christmas and I'm blessed by her every single day!

Our loss of the beloved animals in our lives, is one of the most traumatic things in our entire existence. My husband and I have lost 3 dogs, and 4 horses over the last 5 years, and we're still grieving for them. No amount of time with them would be enough. ❤
One shouldn't get over their dog that soon. Love our dogs.

I'm SO sorry to hear about this Ted ! My beloeved Mikey disappeared into the woods in Northern Alabama a week ago after being chased by a stray cat. Mikey has been my best friend for over 4 years since I rescued him at a month old. Searching every day, putting fliers out and nothing but crickets. I'm going nuts without him. I get it ! Please pray for my cat , Mikey and prayers for you and Happy ! God bless.
Dash our little Dachsund passed away 2 years . He lived 15 years. And was treated with love and respect . He was family .We never went anywhere without him. My wife and I are sorry for your loss. God says we will be able to lay with lions. So I'm sure he's looking down and still loving you both.

I understand 100%, the pain is real because the love was real. Not something you just get over. His spirit is still alive in your heart and always will be.

Uncle Ted I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I am a dog lover since I was an Indiana farmboy back in the 70s. I find it incredible you named your pup Happy Jackson. My Brother Mark (RIP), and I always called each other Jackson and some of our childhood friends. That goes back to a joke our Dad told us back in our youth. Oink Jackson is the punchline.
I have two puppies. One is 9,0ne is6 . They are brother and sister. They are truly a blessing and they always have my back. They love and protect my family. Thanks guys.

Growing up I had a Boxer named happy he was at home waiting for me to return from the first concert I ever attended, I was 13 it was August 1977 in Seattle the opening bands were AC/ DC and Cheap Trick. I will let you guess who the headliner was! Thank you Ted for providing the soundtrack to my youth and all the years afterwards!!!!!

I've had to have many animals, horses, dogs, cats, and I dread the day I have to take that option for my 15 year old bestest dog ever, Gizmo. He is my heart!
