The opening riff to Stranglehold is one of the best that came out of the action packed 1970s. Whatever you think of Ted, when it comes to rhythm chops, Ted is legit. "Look at this right hand." Yup. Finally, chapeau to Ted for acknowledging Bo Diddley. Good sportsmanship; so to speak.

Ted is my hero since 1977 and just like me an old guy that refuses to get old. I will see Ted in July on the exact 45th anniversary of my first Ted concert and am sure it will be just as thrilling as the first. The Motor City Madman live is as high energy as it gets
If you've never seen Uncle Ted live, you need to! Nothing like it. Saw him in 1977 in Shreveport, LA as a 17 year old. Saw him in 2010 in Tulsa OK at Cains Ballroom. Same level of blistering guitar chops in both shows. Uncle Ted for President!!!!

I think no guitarist has truly embodied the attitude of your typical rock and roll stereotype more than Uncle Ted.
Even to this day he still has the kickass, in your face approach to playing, and speaking. He's definitely one of my favorite guitarist personalities.
This is what I love about JRE podcast. Ted Nudget just being free and comfortable to go back in time and tell his story on the origin of Stranglehold and of his young years and influences in rock n roll. I could listen to this all day.
I wish I could hear the stories of the young kids he diddled.

Hearing Ted play 'Stranglehold' a bit was cool. It took me back to pro wrestling hearing Kevin Von Erich come out to it to go to battle with his brothers against The Freebirds.
