Oh, I agree with you guys 100% about Queen Charlotte, I was literally nodding my head to every word you said! This was so much better than Bridgerton in every way conceivable (and I'm glad this is a popular general opinion). Bridgerton is like a guilty pleasure I would hide from everyone, but Queen Charlotte is something I'd proudly recommend and would nominate for awards, because the quality is incredible. Like you said, the writing, acting, depth, story, chemistry, emotional impact (Melissa, I hope you already watched last ep, one of the best TV episodes for me, had me *weeping*). And the young actors are all newbies and these are their first roles!!! Except for India, who was a child actor, but is still just 21 yo! incredible young talents.
A couple of interesting trivia about the subjects you brought up: I've been binging their press tour, because this cast is insanely good and fun and adorable and their interviews are as fun as the show itself lol, so during their interviews they mentioned how 1) Golda did indeed use a neck-brace for some of the heavier wigs; 2) since there's still no firm decision about real King George's mental illness, apparently the production made a purposeful choice not to diagnose him in the show and not to have the actor play a specific illness.

Oooh! I had no idea it was purposeful to not diagnose him.

This podcast has felt like a prescription for me of sorts. I'm going through illness and it gets me down so much and I accidentally discovered this podcast. It seems like I became a fan overnight. While this can't physically remedy my autoimmune disorder or my medical conditions. It certainly makes me happy. It allows to to take my mind off myself and my pain. It calms my brain which more times than not, is my own worst enemy. Y'all are hilarious and so dang entertaining. Thank you for helping me and many others. 🙂

They (Shondaland) never declared that King George suffered from bipolarity. Ever.
Also, the woman who claims that since she "knows" a person dealing with bipolar disorder that Corey's portrayal isn't something that actually happens is wrong. Not EVERYONE who suffers with bipolar disorder behaves exactly the same. This isn't a one-size-fits-all deal.
Also, there's Bipolar w/Mania and other diagnoses at play. Again - it isn't a one-size-fits-all which is one reason why mental health treatment is so difficult.

I don’t just know people with Bipolar disorder, I lived with my own mother who struggled and unfortunately lost her life in part due to her illness. I also happen to have many friends and other family members that have been diagnosed and cope with it everyday. I would never claim to be an expert, but based on my personal experience the mental struggle in the television show did not match up with the suffering of those around me. Thank for sharing your perspective. This is simply mine.

France abolished their monarchy and has great tourism. Is England so boring that losing the monarchy would lose all their tourism?

Please can you make an episode on the hard times in acting. Did you ever think you wouldn't work again? What does it feel when you go to an audition and they say no. Do you ever worry about money? When your at home do you think when is my next job? Whats your longest break you've had? Have you ever thought about doing something else as well as directing. Is it more money acting ? I love the behind the scenes stuff as I use to acted but couldn't handle the lifestyle sorry for all the questions. You've done so many movies and 5 TV shows now. Which is amazing

You can't make money appear out of nowhere but yet you can somehow come up with 250 million pounds for a Coronation while your country is in one of the worse economic crisis of its time.

It’s BUSY. It took me a minute to see what was even going on and in that time scrolled on. I really hope this helps, I love seeing women reviewers!

I completely disagree about the Queen Charlotte series. I don't think it was bad, I just didn't enjoy the story or feel good at all while watching it. I liked Bridgerton for the escapism. There's just something hopeful about Bridgerton all throughout. QC was depressing. The acting was good, but I also didn't feel chemistry between the leads either. Loved the Brimsley story though and wish we got to know what happened to Reynolds.
