Holy fuck. Making Minsc kill Jaheira was brutal.
Same vibe as Zalbaar killing Mission back in the day
it's just like turning in the nightsong to lorroakan, after that bringing isobel to her and kill her infront of her
that was brutal
That was the most heartbreaking moment I've seen, especially after playing Bg1 and 2 D'x
@@jedi_connor3030 - Fucking Hell… I had put that out of my mind so long ago. It was so wrong 😖
I think you meant to say "fckin' HILARIOUS". ;-D
Making Minsc kill Jaheira must be the most evil thing you could have done no way
Bhaal approves
Well you can always kill Shadowheart's parents immediately after releasing them from Shar's grasp. That's pretty vile too.
@@quaestor856 yeah but mind controlling someone to kill their best friend is worse
Zaalbar welcomes Minsc to the club.
nah. giving nightsong to that one lorrok mage is worse.

I like Minsc just as much as I despise Jaheira.
@@thisisaname5589 REAL
I think Minsc killing Jaheira is the most insane thing I’ve ever seen, I did an evil Durge run and I didn’t even know that was *possible*
sadly jaheira killed herself on my durge playthrough in moonrise, so i couldnt see her til the end, really regret that seeing how she seems to be now.
She left for me after she agreed to help me kill minsc
Everytime I think I've seen the most evil thing you can do in this game it gets worse
This is so sad. To think that Jaheira and Minsc watch over you when you sleep the night you found out who you are, gave you all those pep talks, put in so much trust and support to encourage you to be better than what the dark urge made you. Just to be betrayed and ended like that. It is so sad. Even if I am playing Evil durge, I don't think I can bring myself to do this to them ; _ ; This is worse than letting Jaheira in Last Night or Moonrise.
First time I tried to do an evil playthrough I gave up after act 1 and the recruitment of minthara. It’s genuinely difficult to put yourself through it 😂 I suppose that’s just good writing through, when the evil playthroughs are just that. Evil.
@@TheStanDudley I killed minthara after killing the druids AND then i killed all the goblins, Surprisingly, your party does NOT treat you as evil, if you kill the goblins after killing the full druid camp o.o So strange.
@@TheStanDudley I played evil durge on my 3rd playthrough, legit had to quit the game because I so devastated after betraying Zevlor, I remember almost every Tiefling that I was striking down. Had to take a break and go back to my good playthrough for a few days :(
I’m in in I n n in in i
@@omgwtfbbq11111 I did a good playthrough and I felt bad just seeing those who died in the Shadowlands because I had talked to them at the party the night before (I put off the party until everything else in act 1 was done). Like damnit why was there no option to accompany them and help protect them 😕
Achievement unlocked: Ligma Bhaals
Who the hell's Steve Jobs?
OMG.... that Minsc stab! You made Boo cry!
Its Boo's turn next 😈
Durge played the loooooong game, held off on killing Isobel, won Jaheira’s favour and rescued Minsc. Just so it would hurt them so much more in the end 😂
I killed Isobel and still managed to have Jaheira join me!
You can still recruit Jaheira after you kill Isobel. She stands with you as all of the last light residents turn undead, then questions you to which you can reply "wasn't me mate, no idea what happened."
Something tells me, and this is just a hunch, but something tells me she's won Bhaal's bloody blessing...
Jaheria died in Moonrise towers for me. She ran right into a group of enemies alone. I healed her a few times but she seemed dead set on dying
Yea seems if you don't have her in your party, she falls on her own sword repeatedly
She didn’t die for me but she did run right through a wall of fire. So did many of the harpers though
Gotta use sanctuary if you really wanna save her. Thanks to the patch 4, the allies now try to avoid dangerous AOE areas so make a good use with the AOE spells.
You are supposed to go back to moonlight inn before going to the tower@@pantheracheaxb747
Like someone else in the comments here pointed out, if you really want someone you don't directly control to survive, Sanctuary is a great way to do it. But timing it correctly can be tricky, so watch out for that. Still, this is your best option to make her survive the fight, if she happens to be overly aggressive. Throwing things like Shield of Faith on her also helps.
In my personal experience, I've found that the best way to keep Jaheira alive is not by healing or protecting her, but by offering a strong opening offense move, thinning the ranks of the enemy before she can act more than once. The more enemies you take off the field, the less they'll have to spank her with. Focus on taking out the weaker guys first, just to thin their numbers and if the stronger dudes start beating her up, then you can switch to healing and protecting after. Always worked for me. Come out swinging and keep a close eye on her health at all times. Pray that she shifts into an animal form sooner rather than later, since the damage she suffers while wildshaped doesn't carry over to her normal form (except for the superfluous damage that broke her shapeshift).
The first time i played as dark urge i completely forgot about Minsc (to meet him) and just went straight to Orin for the epic duel. After i became the Slayer she was waiting for me, but there was no Minsc and she STILL TALKED TO HIM lmao😂 like she was talking to herself, it was really funny.
I thought she got dementia because of her age😂
Of course, she is ancient - but she still has work to do.
@@joelkorhonen3170 I mean she's only ancient because she's a half elf. If she were a full elf she would be young, sprightly, and just easing into adulthood. Minsc was a statue by the way. That's why he's alive 100 years after BG2. Probably the same for Boo as well (he was part of the statue) but I'm not so sure. I don't know the average life expectancy of a miniature giant space hamster...
@@cmwinchellYou say that but the fake Viconia hasn't weathered the last century all that well either.
@@cmwinchell yeah they hinted at that story (the “stolen ranger statue”) right from act 1, I thought that was a cool detail to add in. There was a letter or poster about it and how there was a reward for finding the beloved ranger statue.
I assume he was in a preserved state like those frozen statues in the Underdark and was released with a basilisk potion 🤔
@@elenalizabeth Minsc was released from petrification in one of the D&D comic series "Legends of Baldur's Gate" by a wild magic surge of a sorceress. Since he was no longer a statue, the people of Baldur's Gate believed the statue of "The Beloved Ranger" had been stolen. Acc. to Forgotten Realms Wiki, this happened somewhere in the 1480s DR, which means it's been 12 years since Minsc up and walked away by the time BG3 is set. Either the rewards poster is old af or a relic that survived the ages far from Baldur's Gate.
during this fight minsc wasn’t there, and i had never played jaheira, so she was a level 1 druid with 10 health.
She died instantly.
This could’ve been an amazing confrontation if Minsc and Jaheira
We’re actually strong as they are meant to be by the end of BG2. Level 20 characters with epic abilities would’ve made playing an evil durge a challenge
Keep in mind that over a 100 years have passed since then Jaheria comments that’s she is not as strong as she once was, and that she has been hoping a new generations of heroes would come and take over for her. And in Minsc case I’m not really sure if being frozen in time while encased in stone impaired his abilities at all but it wouldn’t be strange if it did
@@audioapegaming3334 As for Minsc, he got tadpoled just like the rest of the party who's banter all indicates that the initial tadpoling severely limited their abilities for a time while they readjusted.
The funny part for me was that I never used Jaheira, so when this happened for me she was still level 1. The fact that game doesn't make either of them an NPC again and level her up to be a threat in case you don't take the time to level up companions you never use is hilarious.
Yea. Seems like heroes of old but died pretty quickly under my smite crits
Actually, end of tob is 8M exp, level 40. minsc is arguably the worst companion bar Wilson, you might get past him, even tho I seriously doubt it. Jaheira on the other end… let’s put it simple, I don’t think you could hit her realistically, and she can cast Druid hlas, lvl7 Druid spells (dolorous decay) and have access to +4/5 weapons. Good thing it wasn’t Edwin or Neera or any arcane spellcaster, they would evaporate anything in bg3 with a horrid wilting/incendiary cloud
Making Minsc kill Jaheira = Biggest UNO card reversal of all time
Nobody else talking about how gale's just holding out hope? Truly the most loyal companion
he’s kinda iffy on us being bhaalspawn but astarion was that guy, fuckin it we bhaal
late comment but it makes sense. a durge isn’t TOTALLY evil if gale was allowed to leave the portal
I can imagine a different way this plays out as a conniving, mastermind Durge.
A Durge that loses all faith that they can resist Bhaal... So they plant Jaheira and Minsc nearby, to ensure that they will be destroyed by the pair of heroes before enacting Bhaal's will.
Thats a fantastic twist! I hope the devs get ahold of that and weave it into a future update cause that's brilliant.
oh gosh thats so beautiful and so sad
Oh, this is good. :D It's on par with the character concept that the DUrge is also Evil, but secretly resents Bhaal's "hand on the wheel" as the Urge, so to speak. You have no true control over who and what you kill; you're just a vessel for Bhaal's whims. So after you reject Bhaal's blessing and Withers resurrects you, you bask in the congratulations of your companions for having "beaten Bhaal", but inside you exult in the satisfaction that none of them realize that you were complicit in the killings all along.
Oof. Gale's "I can fix her" towards the Dark Urge is like Tav's "I can fix him" towards Ascended Astarian. Both are facing an eternity with their abusers.
And thats why Gale is forever Bae
3:30 Wow. Literally gasped at making Minsc do... that.
some games struggle do have a good dialog in general, this game have multiple good dialogs depending on the players choice
This is the one part that made me reconsider going full Bhaal route. I could never bring myself to kill granny Jaheira and Minsc.
Dark Urge : "You really think you can kill me ?"
*Jaheira & Minsc regain their true power from the bg2 era, when they were level 30 demigods*
Dark Urge : "Oh f*ck..."
Kinda wished there was an option where they would immediately off you after confronting the final boss. Kinda like the ending where you turn into a mind flayer and choose to end your journey earlier than the others.
Wouldn't make any sense. I mean, there's the option that DU would do it themselves if they defy their father at the last moment after the battle, but it would be foolish of Jaheira and Minsc to trust someone who, as far as they knew, was hell-bent on being the psychopathic killer that does Bhaal's bidding
@@munchkintaker4263 we got a level 99 check for the brain, it's not impossible
@@magic_cfw Bad example. Ability checks do not allow to do everything, DMs usually do not even allow to roll for something like that since it is a zero chance of success, the game explicitly states that the evolved Elder Brain can't be subdued by a non-mindflayer. The Brain's check is quite literally an impossible check, the critical success gives you only a certain advantage in the final battle. Critical success only gives you the best *possible* outcome, even though DnD all this time did not even allowed crit success on ability checks in the first place, and under the new d20 test rules - crit success/failure matters only up to a point.
In other words, Jaheira isn't a fool - it would require her to become suddenly dumb and defy her common sense to make them trust you to not control the Brain.
"We have slain queens. And gods. And one time, a giant. But never before... a friend."
Noooo, it's such a sad phrase! 😭
Gale no honey, no you can't fix her.

i didnt get to minsc until after this so when i tried to knock him out, i just got told by the emperor that he cant be saved.
boo later came over to his body and had sad and angry squeaks.
i threw boo. xD
So you were high on emperor's koolaid
@@kitten_with_bad_breath no if Jaheira isn’t alive there is no way to convince Minsc that you are the good guys, or at least that’s what I’ve seen
Yeah you need Jaheirq alive to recruit minsc
You can end the world, lay waste to countless innocents, but making Minsc kill Jaheira?
That's too evil for even Bhaal himself
I've just finished an evil run, and like... there's a lot of bad shit here. I've now raided the Grove (dreadful), ascended Astarion for the first time (awful, I hate him in this form and he was my first romance), DJ'd Shadowheart... you name it's been harsh, but also like really interesting? I never ever play games evil but I love this game so much that I wanted to try it.
... But amongst all the nasty shit, THIS. This broke me. I had to walk away and do something else for an hour man, and I didn't even get Minsc to kill Jaheira. The fact that what is a last stand for you against the villain with your powerful friends is now them taking a last stand against YOU... chills. Actual chills. Masterpiece of a mood-setter, walking out in your bloody Chosen triumph to this horror show. Proud of you for that one Larian, you bastards. 😂
this is why i can never do a fully evil play through, i love jaheira and minsc way too much to even think about hurting them.
I loved Jaheria tbh, her voice, her accent.
maybe because we interacted with her more than others. the inn, her house, her background, harpers, the guild, Minsc...
she good old women, stronger than she look.
The other truly evil thing you can do is take Minsc and Jaheria when you meet with Sarevok and offer them as a sacrifice to Bhaal
I was fine with killing the grove, last light, the night song but god this part hurt as she’s been my favourite character since bg1 and I had had her in my party 90% of act 3
Minsc is amazing, I love him 😍😍😍
None shall stand in my way sounds gives me vibes of
non shall that the throne
Gale is a real one for staying loyal even if you’re as evil as you can be homie gale doesn’t leave your side.
Lore wise they would 1000% kill the durge but unfortunately for them we are main characters
Gale is such an enabler, since the goblin party, but i love him nonetheless
"And one time a giant!"
Boy oh boy, I betrayed Jaheira and give her to Saverok yesterday and thought that was satisfying but THIS is perfect. Worth to reload and keep her alive abit longer.
Seeing Jaheira backstabbed was truly a thing of beauty. Thank you!
I expected this outcome in my durge run when I gaslit Jaheira into thinking I had nothing to do with the shit that happened at last light.
Damn, I let Jaheira live just to betray her here, but I never knew I could go for such an evil option.
Then again, my Durge didn't use illithid powers as he thought it was beneath someone of his stature, so he still wouldn't have.
I love Jaheira. This is so sad
Well that stab was satisfying.
It would be awesome if endgame had PvP like DOS 2 did, it just makes so much sense.
So sad. The last vestiges of the party that defeated Bhaal's plots in games past, dying to Bhaal's latest spawn and dooming the world with their failure.
Your Durge looks like Jade McSorley from Britain's next top model.
I never saw this on my evil playthrough... because I let Jaheria get mauled by the harpers after I let last light fall.
I did get the achievement "Early Retirement" though.
Kinda prefer doing it my way, considering I never personally needed to fight her.... I just pretended I totally didn't do anything and mosey'd back to camp.... lol
This happened to me but jahiera lived the last light inn fight and then I passed an intimidation check for her to just leave. Eventually in act 3 she just showed up in my camp like we were good buddies.
she didn't last long as I was doing durge things lol.
I cant bear watching my girl jaheira get killed like that.
There’s something much more heartbreaking about playing a Durge that starts off trying to do good (or decent) and then embarrassing Bhaal
I just played yesterday, I became Bhaal's chosen and they just went away... No fight...
If in party they leave your team, but you will still see them on the bridge
In all her self-righteous indignation, Jahaira forgot one very important detail; someone still had a tadpole in his head.
She is definitely going to regret that later. Emperor only saved Minsc because of us
I killed Jaheira my first playthrough I didn't feel bad because my first playthrough I missed basically the whole game and alot of items and cutscenes as well. But after doing 6 playthroughs I always end up being an Good Urge it feels so much more rewarding even though I want to be evil you aren't rewarded enough and miss out on A LOT!!!!
To be fair, only 1 of the 3 main evil Durge rewards isn't laughably garbage (Deathstalker Mantle is so brokenly OP...while the Slayer form is a joke and the 1-time-use Power Word: Kill is hilariously weak with its 100 hp limit) to the point where the epic redemption arc story of a good Durge blows away those meager evil rewards out the water.
When this happened on my evil run I didn’t use Jaheria a single time so she was level one and died instantly
Lol, they show up with 2 people + some random militia dudes and a hamster and act like they gonna kill a dude who just murders avatars of gods left and right.
"random militia dudes and a hamster" LMAO
You really made me laugh with this one !
I tried to convince them it wasn’t really my choice… then Jaheria got thunder arrowed off the bridge and minsc got dominated. I didn’t kill him. Because he was considered an ally while dominated, I just left. I couldn’t deal the final blow.
Honestly, I don’t want to hurt Minsc in any way
now i am playing as an unhinged Urge and it is soul breaking :|
Dark Urge looks so cool but idk if I have the heart for it honestly lmao
You can do a redemption run durge.
To think I let Jaheira die at last light and ignored Minsc all together, would of been a beautiful end to make them turn on eachother ah well, already made sure a certain barbarian wouldn’t be the head of any major corporation, sacrificed a blade to booal and yoinked the arm off a wizard
Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but if you reject your god and die, doesn't that mean you get consigned to purgatory forever? I mean, at that point you didn't know that Withers was going to intervene.
With that in mind it would be fairly reasonable to accept, hoping that you would have a better chance to free yourself later.
My dark urge run except I made sure my character looked the part. I made him look like Kazuya Mishima 😂.
i did this fight last night, i didnt even level minsc up and he was level 1 💀
My headcanon is that Minsc made mincemeat out of Durge after they made him kill Jaheira. Theres no way he wouldnt turn absolute unstopptable berzerker mode
Too bad that obviously can't be what happens, since the only way for Minsc to be there in the first place is to get his ass handed to him and spared by Durge.
Minsc owes Durge his life, it's only fitting for him/her to get to collect.
Whats required for this scene? It didn't show for me on my durge playthrough
So if you go evil Durge, and embrace the gift after beating Orin, this happens? There is no way to talk them out of it? You have to kill them?
I would have thought you'd be able to talk them out of it and say that you plan to betray Bhaal after killing the absolute, even if that's a lie.
my game bugged and i didnt get this fight. jaheira and the harpers just stood outside the temple of bhaal and i couldnt interact with them, so i just left.
Do you need to have them in your party to get this cutscene?
W8, is this a standard encounter for Durge?
Edit:
Ah, ok thats after killing Orin and taking Bhaals blessing, right?
how can you get this scene ? jaheira n misc be alive at act 3 and ascend as bhaal chosen ?
Bruh idc I killed them, I wasn’t even gonna use the brain for evil and they turn on me using LEGENDARY weapons I got for them? I killed both with no remorse.
You didn't show what happens failing the wisdom check to control Minsc
What happens then?
@@elenalizabeth I don't know, but knowing the game, they probably have considered you could fail the check and usually there is an unique scene for it (or at least a line from the narrator), and even if there is notthing (and the dialogue procedes as with a different option) the video could have shown it
@@97Zexion97
"and even if there is notthing (and the dialogue procedes as with a different option) the video could have shown it."
Goodness, what a little monarch you are. The video creator opted instead to showcase one particular way things could play out because they felt like it. They don't owe anything more than that to you, no matter how much you feel like they "could" do it. You *can* find out yourself, instead of going around critiquing artistic labor of others based on whether they could have made it more precisely to your own subjective specifications.
And then you fight them and they’re still level 1 🤣
everyone there hoow?
Never had this scene how to get????
Lol i offered them to bhaal at the tribunal
For the durge playthroughs I've been involved with I never encountered Minsc at all.
For this to play out do Jaheria and Minsc need to be recruited and kept at camp while we go off to complete accept Bhaal's blessing?
No, if you bring them with you they'll leave the party and wait outside the temple.
Jaheira I think you’re a few protagonists short to be confronting this party violently.
… ya know this is reminding me of a lot of games where you can do this whole evil omnicidal thing. Then your companions or at least some try to stop you… and suddenly people who were decently on par with you and whatnot become fodder…
Was hoping to see you fail the roll as well.
What do you even have to do to get this
It sure is cute that Jaheira really thinks she can take on Bhaalspawn despite being like a 5-6/10 companion in the old games. She ran support in all of my good playthroughs and was outclassed by a bunch of evil companions
Actually Jaheira was pretty powerful in BG2 (more than Aerie or Viconia for referance). Also - if the game sticked true to the previous ones, she'd be like level 40 and dual class xD.
@@Rarian92 Aerie wasn't useful very much, that is true, but my gal Viconia was a backbone of my party sometimes even in good playthroughs
@@Rarian92 She does say that she's not nearly as strong as she used to be and was hoping for future generations to take over for her, so chances are she's EXTREMELY rusty
@@Andriej69 You high? Aerie's access to both Arcane and Divine Magic made her an absolute BEAST. I will acknowledge that she grows slow, but the amount of versatility and raw spell slots she gets makes her insanely powerful.
@@luminozero Making Aerie a "beast" took a fuckton of min-maxing, and I prefer to bother with it only when it comes to charname, if at all

I think you should be able to deceive Jaheira about her children to force her to leave you alone and abandon the city if you met her family, minsc will follow as usual. tell her you already sent bhaalists to take a visit.
More ways of addressing the break with jaheira and Minsc would be good. But your idea would backfire horribly. Going after her kids would motivate her more to go after Durge in that scenario
How does one trigger this cutscene?
Play as Dark Urge, embrace Bahl's Blessing after killing Orin, and have Jaheira and Minsc recruited before you do so.
Can someone give me context
Jeez making minsc kill jaheria was horrible
Game her my strong weapons maybe i shouldn't have 😂
My old friend at Adventurers League warned me about 'The Harper Faction' being Evil in his eyes...
I guessed he's correct after all.
Lawful Stupid, am I right?
yeah. like she really expects us to die just because she thinks its better than to be chosen? fuck such friends and allies. let those shortminded idiots rot
Man... I wish that you could just imprison Dame Aylin and take her immortality as your own in the game lol... It'd be ao cool lol...
I h⁴t³ Jaheira :D This is epic!!!
I kill Jaheira in act 2
Kkkkk
Videos of evil playthroughs always seem immersion breaking as hell to me. How the fuck are Gale and *WYLL* of all people on your side? Next you're going to tell me Karlach is there too. Do you have to brainwash them in order to be with you at this point? I would expect a team of Astarion and Minthara, not fucking Gale and Wyll.
For the most part, parking them permanently in Camp is a good way to keep them around, their camp lines offer enough free approval to offset the major decisions if barely. So long as you don't kill the druids, you can have anyone there, even Halsin has lines for being a Baalspawn ally (although he does his damndest to convince you not to go through with it before and is dismayed after).
I really don't like that they made Jaheira and Minsc much weaker than they should be. Lvl20 minimum. Because lvl20 is limit for mortals and heroes of bg2 bypassed that limit long time ago. Lets hope that Adrian and Imoen are still alive. And they are not a joke.
And please don't tell me about bg2 novelisation, its stupid book. In it all journeys of Adrian and Imoen are for nothing.
Well i guess thats why in every forgotten realms games we have open final and heroes goes on adventures among other plains and we never see them again, meeting only their companions. Remember Dikin? From nwn 1. He is the only one from that game who we meet in nwn 2. Besides lord of Neverwinter of course. Because hero of nwn 1 beated Mephistopheles. In a duel. 1 vs 1.
Yeh I abuse Jaheira in every game. In BG1 i was mostly rude to her, in BG2 I left her in Irenicus dungeon at the start of the game, and in BG3 I betrayed her at the inn and helped Marcus abduct Isobel. So this ending will likely never happen for me. Not that I have anything against her I just like to be as evil as possible.
