I just got the troll cannon on this tank. Sometimes the AP shell with 286 mm of penetration bounces off light tier 6 tanks!
Yea it can be pretty random sometimes. I've bounced off of tigers and su-100. It wasn't even at a super steep angles.
+7777anonymous I bounced off tanks with 25 mm frontal armor! You know what they say, the troll cannon trolls you as much as the enemy. After I shot a hull down Lowe three times on the turret and bounced, I went to its side, tracked him doing no damage, was killed and rage-sold the tank. I can't go higher in this line because I have standard account and tier 9, 10 games are a huge loss of credits. The game is a money sink.
+Barren Plains That's pretty shitty, I've never had it that bad but that's why I carry a few APCR. It can't troll too hard with those.
I stopped at tier 8 because of the money issue too. I'm just stacking my crew with tons of perks instead of moving up tiers.

I'm talking about real money. Premium account or premium tanks cost ridiculous amounts of money. The owners of the game came up with all of ways to empty your wallet. If you have "complex equipment" on one tank you will have to "destroy" it if you don't have gold. If you go to another tank your crew loses %100 if you don't use gold and you should say goodbye to that sixth sense you desperately need. The owners of this game are just too greedy.
+Barren Plains The micro transactions are done really well in this game. Complex equipment is cheap to remove and you shouldn't even need to if you get the right equipment (rammer and vents most of the time). Premium tanks aren't straight up better than standard tanks plus like you said they're extremely expensive so no anyone can just pick one up. Transferring crew isn't that big of a deal. If anything the shit stock on some of these tanks have are the biggest problem.
I find the extra 25% view range makes you less dependant on other tanks and use it in nearly all my tank destroyers.

Haha! But what he doesn't tell you is that getting the BL 10 is one of the worst grinds in the game!
Grind is perfect on ISU, cuz you can equip your 152mm stock gun and in high tier games (8-10) just derp heavys or tds in the face for about 300-500 damage with HE shells, damage modules and stuff, get loads of cash and xp. In some cases you can even peneterate like Bat chats and other frenchies even with HE shell.
I agree! It was such pain to research the BL 10. I was going nuts because of so many losses I have suffered and so many tanks not killed due to smaller alpha. But once the Bl is obtained, the ISU becomes a completely different SPG, and this is when the fun time begins on this tank destroyer. So save up some patience and research the BL cannon! It is absolutely worth it!
TheTheEdga You do more like 200-300 damage with non-pen HE, and nobody's scared of the 152 at that tier so you can't stall enemies as well, and sometimes enemies have too much health to 1 hit without the BL 10 so you may shoot them before you die but they'll get you anyway. 152 has so many disadvantages for tier 8.
Glorious Gamer Maybe try to play 152mm gun and make your facts better because it everytime rolls 300 and more. Somehow me and my friends who play WoT and specifically su-152 and isu-152, we play 152mm only and have nothing to worry about in tier 10 games. You can do reliable damage, like in other hand BL-10 gun really struggles to do anything in tier 8 and so far without gold ammo which is insanely high costs. AND i was talking about grind not the top gun tbh. AND you CAN stall enemies because you damage opponents modules, sometimes shooting heavys or mediums to the lower plate it WILL penetrate them.
TheTheEdga Idk why the BL 10 would ever struggle in tier 8, since it does 750 av damage with AP and has 286 pen. If you ever end up in a tier 10 game it can still easily pen most tier 10 heavies if you get weakspot shots, otherwise you could shoot HE and it does more damage than the 152. Also the 152 is good for the grind, but the fact the BL 10 is around 70k xp to research and you have to research the 10k xp tracks first, plus it's so immobile without the top engine, the grind is terrible.

Wow, found this after getting my ISU152 eight years after this vid was released! Amazing to see how young QB was and he is even responding to video comments too in remarks. He's come on a long way since then. Shame I haven't!

Have you seen the tree fall at 10:30? I haven't finished watching the video yet, my instincts tell me e75 actually is trying to overlook his own base.
Haha so I'm not the only one who noticed that. I actually wasn't paying attention, since I was watching QB in the lower left corner in just that moment but I still noticed the movement on the screen. :) Btw it's also possible that it was the Hummel felling that tree.

Very nice battle,are you also looking forward for the 8.6 patch QB?From what i've read it seems to be a nice patch,especially because of the xp and creds buff for TDs and arty,they will earn the same amounts like regular tanks,which is nice.

Thanks for the video. The ISU is a blast with the 152; my second most played tank in the game.
You didn't discuss what equipment you use. Because of the inaccuracies of the gun, I use a GLD, rammer and vents because you have to get closer to the enemy, and not snipe like other TDs. Which is a trade off, because you can't always survive with no armor and low HP. A very situational tank. IMO.
I found that the turning speed on the JSU-152 on medium or soft ground is greatly reduced. Scouts and medium have no problem circling you.
Ah, I understand. I guess I've found those types of engagements where the 3s static + 400m+ range to be more rare than the ones where I see myself needing that faster aimtime. Also watching this clip I noticed a few oppurtunities where the egld might have been more helpful, hence the question.

If you check out the shells in your garage, it will show you the range of variation in both Pen and Damage. The listed alpha is the average, and your results will be within 750 +- 25%. That should mean about 940 damage maximum one-hit potential. Tier10 TDs have over 1000 potential and so on, but the garage lists the range for you appropriately
I am happy about the 8.6 arty rebalance... At the same time I feel bad about my tier 3 StPzII not being OP anymore, well... Have to use those prem(OP)shells while they last. And I'm looking foward to seeing your happy face after the nerf :)

I find it interesting that they never touched that tank's gun properties. They always tweak here and there on a variety of tanks but the ISU always got away. I dot not find it unbalanced at all, love this machine.

Good idea! I think I should get the ISU-152 in my garage tomorrow since I am already at the SU-152 and only 1064 XP away from that beast of a tank. I will try my best to get the monster good Bl-10 troll cannon!

Don't know if your question got answered, but alpha damage mean initial damage, one shot dmg basically. A gun might have a massive alpha damage but due to being inaccurate and/or having a ungodly slow reload only have average or poor DPM. DPM meaning damage per minute, i.e sustained damage. A gun with lower alpha dmg can still achieve a high sustained DPM due to high pen, ROF, and accuracy.

I LiveStream T8 tank companies with QSF every Tuesday. The S-51 was 30% off last weekend and I had it unlocked so I brought it.
I will play it in the T8 tank companies to provide the viewers with a little variety. Else it is me playing the IS-3 over and over again for 15 games every week :)
I don't see using artillery in tank companies or clan wars as much of a downer.
Isu can sometimes be frustrating because of the low accuracy. But I still love it so much

Quicky, you totally need to do something on the object 268. Like something new, I know you did something with it a long time ago on the test server.
You have the removed speed governor on for most of the game. I assume the ISU has good HP on the engine then.
Rammer, Vents and binocs. my default TD equipment as well.
Ok I must say I had no idea you can go to the highground from the little pocket on the western side... :P again learned something new :)

Not sure actually, but I think in your position at the end, I might have tried to ram the E-75, not for hoping to do any significant damage, but just to try and trap him on that hill, thereby making him an easy target for friendly tanks. Thoughts?

At about 10:30 in the video, when he is trying to find a spot for an ambush, did anyone else notice the tree fall in the distance? I checked the radar, and there were no allies where he was looking. Nice stealth Tiger...
Great game QB :) I love my Soviet TD's, the ISU is my most played out of the lot (i just dont play it as well as you :( ) and going to the 704 from this... I like the 704, its a good TD but for some reason the ISU keeps drawing me back even though the 704 is better in all the other departments. Sounds silly I know but there is just something special about the ISU 152 :)

It should still fair okay. That said, the Tier 10 new German TD with the 155mm auto-loader will be an absolute beast. Can't wait to see QB's review on that one when he gets on the test server.

Working on my second skills for the ISU fantastic TD and my good games in it far outway the bad, buying OBJ704 very soon while its reduced 15% and I can put a 100% crew on it also discounted, because I too am keeping the ISU
Always worth keeping specials like KV-1S / FV-304 / GWPanther / ELC AMX / Centurion 7/1 etc

Yeah, the 152mm stock derp on both the SU-152 and ISU-152 is what QB recommends you grind the ISU-152 with until you get the BL-10.
I feel like he use to film these in a library but no great vid

i knew that Russian gun which is same used by the Obj. 268. at tier eight, it's pen, and damage is unchanged only it's aim/reload time is bad, and maybe traverse range
I liked the ISU-152, but I'm finding I prefer the Objekt 704, the extra HP really helps plus the extra armour (mostly) and the gun is still absolutely evil at tier 9.
There is a function it WOT options that you enable, Called- Enable Battle Recording

I have had the ISU-152 unlocked for a month or so now, but haven't bought it yet.
He does that for certain subscriber marks. And there is that old saying in war, "To know thy enemy." If you can think like a scumbag, you can easily kill one, or be able to hide from one effectively.
I started colleccting the russian TDs, because of this special tank, that gun is very, very powerful!
How does this TD compare to the Borsig? using both the 15cm and 12.8cm....

I rly like isu as well. Personally I prefer the Ferdinand because it cannot b penetrated by tier 6 and most 7s.

I agree w/ u. Platooning, especially when you can Skype while doing so definitely helps win games, but if he was to take a look at his stats on noobmeter, they're really good and can't be a product of platooning. Too many people (especially unicums) place too much value on wn7/WR, not as much on actual recent performance. Obviously he plays well, regardless of posting his better/best games. His damage, kills/death ratio, etc are great. Platooning doesn't help you shoot better and play smarter.
You said this gun is "OK" for tier 9.
Saturday night I did 10,000 damage with that beast in a tier 10 battle.
