I use this one for (a) small 3-5 day trips, (b) going to coffee shops, but also (c) for international flights but then alongside a 60L luggage (the Aer Fit comes with me in the cabin with laptop and a shirt and underwater in case luggage gets lost, which is about the same amount of clothing for gym). I’m generally very happy with this bag, but it seems to be a bit big for the coffee shop and a little bit small for the 4-day trip.

Do you think it would be comfortable to carry this as my "personal" bag on a flight and then another 35L backpack as my overhead/carry-on? In other words, if I strapped the overhead to my back and wore it like a backpack, would it be comfortable to carry the FitPack 3 by hand like a duffel bag? Is the handle comortable enough? I'm trying to avoid buying a large roller wheel suitcase, just not sure if two backpacks is a good alternative or if I'd be better off buying a large duffel bag as my overhead and then I could just wear the FitPack on my back.

Great review! AFP 3 is definitely a lovely hybrid bag, it has a few things the modern dayfarer (the bag I own/use) doesn't have; love the duffel opening which is perfect to separate towels and maybe swimming gear, and the sternum strap. However it is on the small side for me especially since I would use the shoe compartment, and the tech access is hindered.

I would love to use this one alas I carry too much stuff :/ so I have to have a dedicated gym bag that I can just toss around without worrying about damaging my laptop, and another backpack for my work stuff/lunch. I’m currently using a Carhatt Legacy 24in Duffel bag (brown) and let me tell you it is PERFECT and sexy AF; I can fit a pair of shoes, a towel, change of clothes, toiletries bag, and more. It has a “rubberized” base so I can just toss it in then trunk after working out and forget about it.

Got this bag, but after 2 weeks I decided to ditch it for the City Pack Pro instead. The lack of space after stuffing a pair of shoes in the shoe compartment meant that I had to squeeze in my other stuff like clothes, small items through the main and front compartments, which I didn't like. Great review! I've been watching a ton of your videos, very in-depth. Currently I jog about 10 min to the gym from my house and would like a comfortable but light backpack. I carry my 13" shoes, 2 tricep pulldown ropes, medium size towel and a camelbak water bottle. I'm 6' 4". Would that be pushing things too much or should I get the Duffel Pack 3 for the extra room? I don't want something massive while I'm jogging, but I have heard that the Duffel Pack's long design is good for taller folks. I do like that the Fit Pack 3 can stand on it's own, which is important for dropping it on the floor at the gym while working out--as I'd like to keep the bag with me while working out. Thanks!
PS I've also seen that there is a "X-Pac" version for both the Duffel and Fit packs which give "YKKÂź AquaGuardÂź zippers for all major compartments"--so this would ensure the top tech compartment is waterproof.

Using this back as a semi regular EDC at the moment - I personally am fine with it but the lack of space can’t be emphasized enough. I have a laptop, one small charger, one pair of gym clothes, shoes, water bottle and one notebook. And you almost dont realize it until you use it every day that this really is kind of 80% full already just with that. Want to bring your own towel? It won’t fit well. Want big bulky headphones? Once the shoes are in best you can do it kinda fit it on top over the laptop. Have multiple tech stuff? Get something else.
It’s great for me because all I need for my work is the computer and all I need for the gym is shoes and the change of clothes but can definitely see how it would be niche. I also always wonder if it would be better to have a regular EDC and then just shove the shoes in its own shoe bag to keep it separate from the rest of your things, but then you probably have more backpack functionality.
