    HOW I REVIEW:
As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:
A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.
    AFFILIATE LINKS:
No matter if I like or dislike a product, I want to make it easy for you to check out the product yourself. Therefore I include a link of the productpage. Expensive.. but I love Aer products. I have their city pack pro and it's fantastic. Been over 2 years now and everything is still holding strong. And I'm not usually very careful with my bags. One thing I want to see in all future Aer bags, is a secret compartment for AirTags or other trackers available in the market.

I believe the holes on the ends of the handles are attachment points - for a carabiner or luggage tag.

My god I absolutely love the color! Papaya orange is my absolute favorite! The lock is probably for when you're on a train and you don't want the suitcase rolling away while you sit. I hadn't seen any other reviews (first impressions )and yours was excellent. It would be a crime to buy it in any other color except this one 😂

@@Youknowthebo July makes great luggage. My wife has the carry on in navy and it's great. I think it would be a good comparison between it and the slightly smaller Aer carry on.

I got an orange hard side spinner-roller suitcase, I like to see my suitcase among all the black suitcases only downside is my suitcase doesn't have a parking brake, but then I only paid $70.00 USD for it. 🤣
Is the zipper resistant to poking by a pen or similar tool? but since it's a carryon I guess that would negate that concern.
My Mom when she traveled put pink ribbons on her suitcase handles.

You're right. But I like to nit-pick when analyzing a product. Because I believe that we all use items differently and just because something might not be an issue for one person, for another person it might be a huge deal.

That color is a near exact duplicate of the reddish orange color of the Lojel Voja, which IMO is also a significantly better designed polycarbonate clamshell suitcase with a much more secure clasping mechanism. I like Aer bags, especially their X-Pac material but for suitcases at this price point ($320USD) you're definitely paying a hefty surcharge for the AER branding. Heck, at this price you could even start looking at the cheaper aluminum suitcases that are knock-offs of well known brands.

Always appreciate constructive feedback. Can you please elaborate? My last review videos needed a lot of production and time to be made. So I assume you mean effort in this video. This is an unboxing, so I am not sure what effort you are looking for in this type of video. But I am happy to improve my videos, so I am looking forward to hear what you are looking for in unboxing videos in the future

I may have an idea what cody1124 means. A little bit of information about the product here and there instead of "I am not sure what this is for" or "I wonder what this function does" - like if you go to a brick and mortar store, you can ask the staff all of these things, right? I mean, I check out your videos for information about the product. I want to know more about the product and its features and no speculations...
That being said, I do love your videos for many years now and alone the quality of the videos and your passion for bags and EDC is a joy to watch.
Btw: the compression divider is not really made for a laptop but to compress your clothes evenly, the zip pocket is more of a bonus. And the locking mechanism for the wheels comes in handy when you are at a slanting area and you have to let go of the handle because you quickly need both hands (maybe you unload the trunk of your car or quickly want to buy some snacks). I think this function is brilliant! The holes in the handles are seemingly for the luggage tag - nice detail.
I am looking forward to the in-depth review because there are some nice features I think.
Regarding the colour, I like it but am not sure if I am bold enough to pull this off.
      Keep up the good work!

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  Před měsícem

Thanks, Katrin. I appreciate your feedback and constructive criticism. I get the point of wanting more information. Moreover that you can ask staff for more information. But in the case of a first impression and unboxing, I see myself as the customer and not the sales person with all the information. So IMHO in order to give you the viewer an honest first impressions, I "need" to be uninformed. If I go in informed but just talk about the features that I just like you can gather from the website, and can not give you any review experience because I haven't reviewed it, what's the point of a first impression? If I only recap the features you could just go into the product page. That is why I rather go blind into an unboxing and first impressions so that you can see my real reaction to the product.
I hope that makes sense. That being said: I get yours and Cody's point that you would like more information, but that's what my reviews are for. And I hope you can both still enjoy the first impressions and my reactions to the product.
Thanks for watching and the valuable feedback
