The M4A1 Block II: GWOT VIBES

- This is my (non clone correct) Block II build. 14.5" SOCOM profile FSP carbine barrel from Colt, and the RIS II rail, with the front sight post cut-out, are, for me, the most iconic and important features of the Block II. As some of you suggested, I added more shooting footage throughout the video, and there is additional shooting footage at the end of the video as well. Hard to go wrong with more pews.

Im one of those guys who dont care if its "CLONE Correct". My approach is to build an AR that will closely resemble the Issued ones with as much correct (if i can afford it) or better parts on it. I just got done with my MK18ish build using Midwest Industries combat rail and a PSA lower like yours. i like it better than my 16inch AR that i assembled using mostly AERO parts and BCM.
i am also a huge fan of m4a1 SOPMOD Block I and II with or without FSP and that will probably be my next build. just deciding now if imma go FSP or Non FSP. ill check which is more cost effective as i do not have deep pockets as well.
Exactly. I was mostly ocused on the 14.5" SOCOM barrel with a carbine length gas system, and a RIS II rail, as those are the two core things that make the block II just slap in my opinion. The rest of the build is going to be built around what I want to accomplish/can afford.
I have a mk18ish build also, lol. 11.5" rosco barrel, 100% my main squeeze. Love that gun.
Hey brother great rifle, mine is similar but it's a DD complete upper M4A1 FSP on a LWRC ambi lower. I'm running a LaRue MBT in mine and for $89 it's a great trigger, feels very similar to my SSA-E.
I just installed the Larue on that build a few months ago and I love it. Like you said, very similar to the SSA-E.
Just realized A2 isn't long enough to get 14.5 to 16...😳 BRB need to change something😏

Nice build , but brother get rid of that knockoff MRO and get an eotech 512.. I know dam well you can afford that considering you have the DD ris rail and a surefire light and a Colt Socom barrel, don't trust that cheap optic
I'm just running that optic for shits and giggles to see if it's any good or not for what it is (IE, is it is a good budget optic, or just junk). I'll do a video on it in a bit, but yeah, ultimately will run something different on this build.
So question cause I’m also on a budget but I’m bout to build out my first high end gun… I’m on a budget so to speak so I only get on shot at this but I’m on the fence… would you choose the m4a1 build over the mk18? I’m debating which one I’d want to build because it will be a while before I could build out another so I wanna choose wisely. I love both though
Man, that's a great question. I would do the 14.5" Block II build first, for a couple of reasons. 1.) if you pin and weld and extended A2 birdcage from Bravo Company, it's a legal 16" barrel length, and thus is just a regular rifle, and you don't need to submit a form 1 to register it as an SBR. 2.) when you're ready to build your Mk18, fill out your form 1 and register that same lower, and then just build the Mk18 upper, when the tax stamp comes in from the ATF, you'll be able to swap your Block II upper and Mk18 upper back and forth on that lower, and you'll save cost only having one lower reciever. That being said, most of the cost is in the upper reciever set, but going this route will let you have your cake and eat it too, and help you avoid all of the nonsense with pistol braces going on with the ATF right now. Also, a 14.5" length just has WAY better ballistics and is good out to 500yrds, and a mk18 is almost exclusively a CQB weapon with terminal ballistics pretty much tanking once you get past 50 yards.

What rail is that? Did it require modification to work?
PSA will not ship anything to Massachusetts, no optics, parts, uppers, barrels, grips, bcg's...nothing. 😔

What rail is on your rifle? It _looks_ like a RIS II FSP but it's different than mine.

Matty, it appears to be an airsoft rail.
I ask because it's clearly different than the one I have. Did you pay full price for it? I ask because the genuine rails have 4 holes, not 5, ahead of the front sight post and the side 1913 rails start at R17 and L17 with a blank behind in the 16th position, there is no 15th side slot, nor is it marked on the genuine rails. Also, on the lower piece there are no holes ahead of the sight block on the genuine rail.
I'm hoping you were aware at time of purchase and paid accordingly. Your rifle looks good and performs well too, that's what matters most.
@@burtlandcastor8359 you just don’t have the front sight post(fsp). There’s different versions of the block II. The 14.5 with the fsp, 14.5 without the fsp and the mk18 that is a 10.3
@@Abolish_The_ATF I have the M4A1 FSP RIS II. I also have the MK18 RIS II. Both genuine DD. The one in the video is clearly different than any of the genuine RIS II rails. Look closely at it.
@@burtlandcastor8359 Yet, the rail does in fact look like an airsoft clone, the holes are off, the shinyness and color is also classic airsoft (EMG, Madbull etc).
Trash custom poverty build, wouldn't call it a block 2. Save your money and stop buying cheap guns and gadgets, that way you can afford a real block 2.
