A Trader and Businesswoman from Begoro, Ghana recollects her experiences of using the Mammy Lorry in the course of her work during the 70s and 80s.
I was interested in the way that the Mammy Lorry appears and functions in Ghanaian creative imagination. And also the role of the lived experienced in cultural memory. The visuals are made up of entirely archival and found material.
The short film was a project for a visual anthropology class.
