- Hello! I'm so sorry this has taken so long for me to put out! I always struggle with whether to make longer videos that show more or shorter videos that gloss over details. This one seemed to be getting too long, so I am going to put out a "Part 3" to finish up, but I would LOVE to hear which you prefer (longer with everything in the same video or shorter videos that have one topic broken up into parts).
This is Part Two of my series on how to make a senior black lab (mix). In this video, I will show how I start to create the actual color of the dog as well as how I make my eyelids and ears.
If you are a beginner to needle felting, this is for you! Actually, even if you've been needle felting for a long time, I'll bet there might be something here for you to learn, too. And speaking of learning, I'm always open to your thoughts and feedback, so please feel free to comment!
I'm Jules, and I'm an obsessed needle felter who loves making whimsical miniature versions of people's pets. I still think sculpting with wool is magic.
The core wool in this video is from Farm Girl Arts: www.etsy.com/s...
The heavy duty black-tipped needle I use to make the initial eye-holes comes from Felt Alive (my favorite place to buy needles!) feltalive.com
5mm glass eye kit I use in this video

The felting kit the awl came from (this kit also came with black plastic eyes, noses and a bunch of other useful things):

The glue (which I love because it dries quickly and is not messy) aleenes.com

I made this channel to document my needle felting journey, and show you all of the tips and tricks I'm learning along the way. I REALLY want to learn and do better, so please hit me up with comments and feedback! I'm constantly learning and I also follow a bunch of felters on CZcams, and I think you should follow them, too! Here are some of my favorites:

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Beautiful video, lovely seeing how you get the ears right, I always find them so tricky, thanks x
Ears are the worst for me! I struggle with them so so much.
Great video, I love the focus on the ears, it’s such a difficult aspect. I found that my greyhound ears are huge, but then I fold the base a bit and it gives them a whole new depth. I have leaned an even better way today, thank you for that!
I hank you for taking the time to let me know!!! I’ll work hard to get the final video done in a more timely fashion.
I always find your videos interesting Jules, thank you!
Thank you for checking them out!!
Bravo!! Great video!
Thank you thank you!!!
