He is a very skilled forward with elite speed and an amazing wrist shot. This fresh start could be exactly what Jakub Vrána needed to get his career back on track.

I think he's going to be a stud with St.louis. Him and Kapanen getting a chance to revive their careers are very low risk, high reward gambles for the Blues. Should be a fun team to watch.

As a Red Wings fan, I’m still pissed they traded Vrana!
I feel like Yzerman could have gotten more out of him. A 7th round pick and a prospect who isn't likely to make the NHL at all isn't even a good return. But who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Yzerman isn't stupid. He knows the ins and outs. Stuff we don't hear in the media. Maybe it had something to do with Vrana not being a team player, not getting his shoulder surgery done during the off season like the team wanted him to, then he got hurt and had to get it during the regular season and was out for half of it. Maybe it was the PAP. Who knows. Only Yzerman knows. Maybe he felt like he couldn't depend on Vrana. Maybe Vrana had a bad attitude. Maybe Yzerman felt like Vrana didn't want an extension. But I also believe Yzerman was going to go with the best deal available. If the blues were the only team that wanted to make an offer for him, they get to set the terms. We got to trust Stevie Y. He seems to have changed from building around Larkin, Athansiou, Hronek, Bertuzzi, Mantha to building around Larkin, Raymond, Seider, Rasmussen, Zadina, Edvinsson, Johansson, Kasper, and Cossa. Let's not forget we also have 4 first round picks in the next 2 drafts. That's not including the other picks or prospects.
