  • Chile, Gabrielle Union done ruffled the girls feathers when she revealed that she and NBA husband, Dwyane Wade split the bills 50/50. Most people reacted before they really unpacked the lives of the two celebrities. Let's unpack this!
Elon Musk says no one should work from home. He feels that it is not fair to the people who have jobs that won't allow them to work from home. He says it's a morality issue. I call bullsh!t. Let's discuss...

The average person just want to do their job to the best of their ability and go home, but in the office there's covert operations taking place. You never know who's reporting back to the boss about you even when you mind your business. Don't be an introvert that really causes unnecessary problems for you. Some people moved out of state during the pandemic, and once we started going back to office, those people who moved didn’t want to come in 2 days a week, our new wfh standard. So they had to find new jobs. That’s what happens if you don’t want to come in; you find a job that’s 100% remote.

I firmly believe in doing what works for you and your household. However, women need to be aware that many men equate being 100% financially responsible with complete control over you and the home. Gabrielle doesn't have to pay bills she CHOOSES to as a way to keep a portion of control and keep her marriage a partnership. I'm not mad at her.

When Covid-19 broke out the best thing my job could have done for me was to find a way for us to work from home I saved on travel time, the frustrations of traffic jams every morning and the time it takes to get dressed make my coffee and pack my lunch it was a blessing I worked from home the entire pandemic the only reason I stopped is because I retired after 33 years I had enough it was a very stressful job but I grateful to be able to continue to work through the pandemic. I think any job that can be done from home the employees should have that option or limit in office days to maybe 2 days a week, definitely not 5 days.

I totally agree on your Elon Musk points!! Our job never set a policy after the pandemic. There are ppl who are remotely 100%, some hybrid and some in the office. It doesn't bother me that ppl don't come up here, i like giving flexibility. Its definitely a control issue.

Agreed. Micro-managing at its finest and it’s all about trust, or the lack thereof. After the pandemic, our City Council (I’m from The Netherlands) decided to change their policy into 50/50. For me it means working 3.5 days from home and 1 day at the office as I work part time. Because of this new policy, the City has already ended the lease of several buildings to lower the costs. Win-win! 😊🙌🏾

You better preach Funky!! I have been married for 27 years and me and Husband have had our ups and downs when it came to our finances . At times he made more money than me and at times I made more money than him. We DO split the bills when it make sense. It’s been times he had to pay 100% when I was off on bed rest with my first pregnancy. He went and got two jobs.
So yes it can be 50/50 60/40 70/30 when your partnership is right.

When the workplace/department is toxic… working from home is a bonus and such a blessing.. once the worker know their role and productivity is sufficient.. why not allow them to work from home! Boss who think like that mad because they don’t have a warm body in the building to yell at blame or vent.. executives and the “big” dogs carry y’all tail into the office every now and then and delegate business!!! They mad because ppl have some peace of freedom mine and don’t have to engage with others that don’t know how to conduct themselves in the workplace

With Dwayne being worth roughly 175 million and Gabbie being worth 40 million, the 50-50 split doesn’t seem fair to me considering both are still taking care of other households including a household that was created on me on the ‘side’ allegedly. They got it though! Go head nie rich people! 👌🏾

I'd like to add another reason that upper management want people in the office. They have already spent top dollar leasing office space. It pisses them off when people work from home. In their minds, they are wasting money. I am experiencing this BS right now.

At some point people have to stop trying to live by someone else’s standards and focus on what works for them. Do what makes sense in your household. Some relationships don’t suffer from uneven power dynamics due to who puts in what, yet others do. I’m so over the whole male/female divide. If 50/50 works, it works for them. Some of the same people having fun at her expense are sick of their partner who expects them to do full time house work when they get home from their 9-5 due to gender roles and they are unhappy.
