SG Bearded Aquarist Ok friend and I will be waiting for you with new clip from you
yesterday bought 12 tiger barb.
for RM7.5
after watching your video i bought tiger barb yes they freaking cheap IDR 10000 for 8 equal to 8 tiger barb for 1sgd i bought 16 of them for 2sgd
Hi Can I ask you a question about tiger barbs. Can I keep Albino tiger barbs together with normal ones.
@@normanlim1214 yeap you can
A turtle, tiger barbs, a flower horn and clown loaches Interesting combo never seen it work.
I'm all about breaking "rules" ;)
It’s so crazy now every fish has its own personality
This is AWESOME! We have a red eared slider and just added 5 tiger barbs. Please keep sharing
Yeah thats...
Seen it heaps (minus the flowerhorn)
I’ve had tiger barbs in the past, and loved them...just set up 18 in a single species tank, and love to watch them. When I walk around the room the whole shoal follows me (they know where the food comes from) so much personality and activity in these guys. Totally recommend keeping tiger barbs!
😊😊
I just got my new aquarium set up. First aquarium I have had in like 25 years. The first fish I got was a school of Tiger Barbs. They look really great in my aquarium with natural river rocks and plants and mopani branch. Their colors and stripes look really great in the environment.
Your videos are both amazing and inspiring... I’m strongly considering getting at least 6 to trial with my juvenile Flowerhorn. Thanks for breaking the rules and helping others think outside of the box.
I've got all the barbs! Tigar, black ruby, and rosy barbs. I love them! I also have 1 long fin tiger barb with 7 regular ones. He doesn't get picked on at all! Its crazy I was extremely worried when I had gotten him but I've had him for months now n he's doing great!
I have a Blood Parrot with Tiger Barbs too. Nice to see someone else with this combo. Lovely tank.
You have absolutely convinced me to get tiger bards. They are really stunning and seeing them in you tank with a turtle. That aqua scape really makes those fish pop. I love it
I ordered my first Tiger Barbs, they are arriving tomorrow. You really have me excited for them. Thanks.
They still excite to this day. Their feeding and schooling behavior is just so fun to watch
They still excite to this day. Their feeding and schooling behavior is just so fun to watch
I also love Tigerbarbs. Fun to feed and great colours! Another good video bro. 🎩
I love them. My own tank is just a single species tank with 30 tiger barbs and its way better than TV. Just constant drama and activity!
what size tank do you have?
I have 25 in a 50 gallon. A bit overstocked but my filter is rated for a 75-90 gallon, and so far no problems.
Super active fish. I recently dropped in some boiled mussel flesh and they attacked it like piranhas
@@jigokutsuushin they're definitely like mini piranhas, very cool to watch
Great video dude, makes us want to get some again. We have always wanted to see like 200 tiger barbs in a 200 gallon tank....one day
Love this series!
Very beautiful and enriched environments that you have for your fish.
I've always wanted tiger barbs or rosy barbs.
Best aquarium related intro I have seen so far man!
Wow totally cool editing dude!! Amazing ! =)
Great video Ashley, really enjoyed it. Nothing beats a tiger barb!
Thanks for the clip credit, bro!
Thanks James!! Tiger barbs are the way to go!! And its my pleasure. Your tiger barb tank is legit my favourite!!!
Your tanks looking great buddy really nice scape, nice to see someone not afraid to try something different! The turtle is awesome 🙂
I was going to have a guppie tank but I fell in love with tiger barbs , the energy, the curiosity, and they Soo cute . No regrets they are like puppies that want to see everything and do everything look in ever nook and cranny they love my barrels and Pirate ship. 💜💛
Wow, that’s really surprising that you were able to cohab a flowerhorn with tiger barbs. Nice aquarium, by the way
Thank you! And yes it wasnt easy to get them to cohab but its very rewarding!
How about a turtle?
Amazing brother. Love the way your flowerhorns KOK is growing
Thank you raja! Yeah its crazy how much his kok is growing everyday!! Its even bigger now 😁
Tiger barbs are one of my favourite fish aswell. I have them in my community tank and I've never seen them be aggressive towards my other fish. I have rosy barbs, rainbow shark, a blue gourami and molly's etc etc
Everyone: Tiger Barbs.
Me: Piranhanemo.
Sick video man I just picked some up!
my first love started with green tiger barbs. I love them for the same reasons of yours.
Awesome video! That's so cool that you have a turtle in with them!
Thank you! Wasn't easy learning how to get my turtle to live w fishes! 😁
Nice info, man that turtle is king!
I think I will actually get a small shoal of Tiger Barbs. My Clown Loach will love them. You have convinced me after all these years.
Oh yeah! When the loaches and barbs school together... most amazing sight ever.
I just added two Tigerbarbs thats all my shop had and they instantly were adopted by my 9 clown loaches and they all shool together half the time when they are not being barbs. Cool video i like Tigerbarbs too cuz
tiger barbs are my choice as well. unfortunately they aren't as cheap here as they are where you are. 15 of them is around 50 to 70 US dollars for me
I got 4 tiger barbs, 3 rosy barbs, 5 small snails and a pleco in 1 tank. I love ‘em all 🤩
I first started this hobby back in 2014 but stop at around 2017 due to expenses like paying for the electricity etc etc. whilst seeing fish videos like this makes me want to start it all again
This helps a lot thank you!
Love how he said to smash that button! LOL
Love your work, I'm going green barbs with a festae
Hey SG BEARDED AQUARIST ..I'm so glad you too love tiger barbs.. those are my favourite too ! Tiger barbs seem like a wolf pack ..I mean similar to them they fight for leadership and follow the leader.. absolutely right info given in the video tigers require a spacious tank that's it then you can keep them peacefully even with neons and cardinals ..I'm keeping tiger barbs and tetras together from past 3 years no problems occurred..again that was nice video there .all the best
Thank you Rahul! Happy to find others who love tiger barbs as much as I do. And yeah, they definitely aren't as bad as their reputation have them. I love them so much its my dream to get to see their natural habitat in Indonesia one day. Maybe even spot them in the wild.
@@SGBeardedAquarist man you replied!! Great ! I never thought you'll reply as most of the CZcamsrs don't ..that's very humble I watched many of your videos and I loved them especially that Asian arowana series! You doing a great job keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words man! I love getting to know other hobbyist. :) and yes more Arowana (and so many other) content lined up!
Very useful and nice video. I was sketical about keeping barbs as my next setup but now almost decided to keep after watching this video. Can you suggest which all barbs and hows can i keep in my 5 feet tank?
Really informative!
That tank is SICK!!
Thank you!! Feeling like rescaping it 🤔
I was contemplating adding a school of Tiger Barbs to my 125 gallon tank. You have convinced me! I am so excited!!! If only they were as inexpensive here in the US as they are there......But I can't wait to get some!!!!! BTW, LOVE the intro!!!!!!
Thank you! You won't regret adding them in. What else is in the 125 currently/in the future?
@@SGBeardedAquarist I have 2 silver dollars (they are BIG), 3 Honey Gouramis, 2 Blue Gouramis, a King Tiger Pleco, a long fin Bristlenose pleco, 5 Ancistrus Plecos, 2 Striped Raphael catfish, 3 Clown Loaches, and one common Pleco named Percy. Percy is the sole reason I upgraded to this 125 gallon. I have returned several common plecos to the LFS when they outgrew my 55 gallon tank, but for some crazy reason I got really attached to Percy! I just couldn't let him go!!! He's almost 10" now. As I'm writing this, it sounds like a lot of fish, but most are bottom dwellers (I'm a pleco/catfish junkie!!!!!) and I recently moved my Angel fish to another tank. They were the only ones preventing me from being able to add Tiger Barbs. How many do you think I can add? I'm wanting to have around 40. Of course, I'll only add them 10 at a time.
Yeah 40 sounds like the minimum ill go with in the 125. I dont see an issue with adding all at one go, just wouldnt do any big feeding in the following few days. 10 a time works too and is of course a much safer way.
That sounds like a really nice tank you have there. Would love to see it. If you're on instagram send me a video/photo! (@sgbearded_aquarist)
@@SGBeardedAquarist I'm not on Instagram. I guess there's no a way to share a photo here?
This was the video I saw that made me want tiger barbs 😍
Kool tank my friend..... I just started a channel myself and still learning
Thank you. Keep it at. It's a very steep learning curve :)
Fantastic video. Please keep it up
Easily the coolest fish tank I have ever seen
Thank you for the kind words! 😁
You should have way more subs bro great content
Thank you for the kind words 😁
Love your video keep it up
Thanks Joel! 😁
I have tiger barbs.& watching their schooling very nice 😍
Great vid but i think there is 1 more reason i love to keep tiger barbs and that is because they are beautiful fishes. They look awesome too.
Thank you! Yes tiger barbs look amazing!!
That’s the aquarium I want!!!!! Especially with a turtle!!!
These fish are intense ! They will definitely be my first fish
I have a group of golden tiger barbs bought frm C328 in a pack and still thriving now with my xb arowana. 👍🏻
Nice! How long have they been living together? And what size is your xb? No casulties so far?
@@SGBeardedAquarist couple of months. No casualty so far. XB is abt 14-15 inch. Just bought 10 more normal tiger barbs and the jade green ones. Shall upload a video on my channel soon.
I'll be looking out for it!
Love that turtle in a tank nice set up👍👍👍👍
I got 4 mollies, 3 tigers, CAE, and a snail. They all chillin
Subscribed ! Great info and really interested in some. How will they do in a 29gal with a lone Electric blue lobster ?
Tiger barbs are my absolute favorite some of my family don’t see why I like them because they lack color in there words but there personally is amazing there always só entergetic sadly I lost a good 10 fish and I’m down to my last 6 leaving me with one tiger Barb all because I didn’t see ick on the fish until it was to late but good news is my six remaining are all in good health and the water is back to being spot on
Bro i love your comtent ashley! where you been at bro i love everything you post man. Much love. You keep it real. I love tiger barbs as well they are beautiful. They school but they dont at the same time. They are agressive but not at the same time. Decently hardy. They thrive in most conditions. They look great too
Thanks Dillon - tiger barbs are the best!
Happy Saturday! SG Beared Aquarist. Thank you for this great video! I have a 55 gallon tank and a Cascade 1200 filter ( in addition to the filter that came with the tank) We are setting it up now to upgrade the red eared slider. We have 5 tiger barbs and are in the process of adding aquatic plants and drift wood. Are there any plants that are nutrient rich for turtles that you would recommend? We would love to add more tiger barbs how long should we wait? or is it ok to add different types of tiger barbs?
I want to know this answer too! I have a slider and will be putting him in a 55 gal and want to add fish. By the way, do you like the filter?
Idk if it’s cause it’s zoomed in or cause the other fish aren’t as big, but those tiger barbs are huge lol.
I have tiger barbs in with my red belly piranha they get along well
Ashley, I just got 12 of these and 6 rainbow sharks. Man these Tiger barbs are Awesome. Really friendly and mine already come up to the front of the tank when I enter the room. Mine are small right now. Have seen them dive and break water. It was sweet! Thanks for making me a fan.
Tiger Barbs are one of my favorites fishes.
What are you other favourites? :)
SG Bearded Aquarist I also like bichirs and mostly monster fishes or fishes that are aggressive.
what are some good tank mates for tiger barbs, I have a rainbow shark in a 55 tank its about 1.5inch now, looking to add about 15 to 20 tiger barbs, what else can I add that will be good?
I completely agree with you, every community tank I have/had I put tiger barbs in, all of them green, melon no matter what species
Which is you favourite variation of the tiger barb?
Good question it’s between the black ruby or the snake skin, what’s your favourite?
Tough one man. I think the red and green tiger barbs look out of this world but I really cant do without the classic normal 🤣
SG Bearded it is a difficult question, there all nice really l, very nice, yeah can never go wrong with the classic tiger 🤣 a classic always makes my tank too lol
Great video, thanks :) What do you do with Tigers who are been nipped on and loosing their fins? do you put them in a different aquarium or do euthanize them?
I usually leave them as they are. Nipping isn't much of an issue with my school so the nipped barb will just heal in there no problem.
I have two glowfish tiger barb. They are cute when they sleep by turning their nose towards the floor of the tank and just drift along. They are expensive at petco. they cost about 10 dollars a piece.
You got 2.1k more subs in 4 weeks congrats
Yes it's crazy! Thanks for following my journey 😁
I'm going to get 3 or 4 red-bellied piranhas, and from what I can tell, tiger barbs are an excellent fish to have co-exist with them.
Of course, with piranha, once in a while some of your tankmates will disappear, but ... you'll have that.
I might also attempt another centerpiece fish with the piranha ... like a convict or some other type of South American cichlid.
I've seen videos online w tiger barbs and piranhas (not big one yet) living together. I think itll be a really cool display to have a small school of big piranhas living together with a huge school of tiger barbs
Very nicely explained 👏
Ok may i know whether tiger barb can be kept with black widow tetra??
And your blood parrot one too 😍
Ur videos are awesome
man if i had tiger barbs for half the price of neons id have 100s of them lol. they are just so fun to watch. stiking looks too.
Picked up 15 tiger barbs tofay.pretty cool fish. I wanna put a turtle,do you have a place on the tank for the turtle to surface every so often?
Barbs are awesome. They get along great with me sharks. Ive seen people house them with paranas.
I can confirm that Tiger Barbs are the best aquarium fish.😁
Oh yeah! Tiger barb lovers unite! 😁
Snuggletummy Lol they were my first fishes so I can agree
i was thinking about getting bala shark, but then watched this video, so i think i might be getting them to try if that would stop my fh aggression
Great video 😍
Thanks bro! 😁
Yes , it is a great video .
Your tiger barbs are healthy and lovely .
You mentioned that you treated them with medication when they had white spots / ich . What medication did you use ?
My 15 tiger barbs too was infected with ich , 5 died .
What are the causes of ich ?
Thank you for your sharing and advice .
First time owner to green and albino barbs! Going to be getting some tiger barbs soon! Beautiful tank!! What is the all white 🤍 fish in there?!
I have a 7500 gallon lagoon. I had eight medium to small tiger barbs. I kept finding my large prize fish dead. I finally figured out the problem when I saw the tiger barbs attacking a large pleco. I got rid of the tiger barbs, no more dead fish.
Very interesting. Which large fishes did you find dead and how many? Did you buy back the same fishes again?
SG Bearded Aquarist I found that all of my plecos had been chewed on to where their fins were almost gone. Three of them died. All were over 8" long. The rest, of the plecos, after a couple of years still have messed up fins and scars. I lost 7- 3"-4" angels. 5 blue guoramis. All my fancy goldfish. After returning the tiger barbs back to the store, I've had no more fish come up missing or chewed on. They were pretty, and they were reproducing in my lagoon. Unfortunately, there are enough plants and hidey holes I didn't actually see the attacks until many had died. I'm starting a new lagoon on the order of 56,000 gallons. Would love to have someone to discuss it with. It will be in Nicaragua on a peninsula into a fresh water lake full of native chiclids and a green spotted pleco.
SG Bearded Aquarist I failed to answer your question. I did buy several rounds of angels before I knew what was happening. They all died pretty much immediately. I'd find their bones in the lagoon. But my rosy barbs and rummy nose barbs, and swordtails were reproducing so fast, I didn't go buy other fish. I like watching them school.
i could say a hundred reasons why they are awesome!BTW do u remember me?
Me too. I had to limit myself to 5 reasons and you've no idea how much I had to edit out because i was just rambling on and on about them. And OF COURSE I RMB YOU. Been here since I was 40+ subs. ;)
@SG Bearded Aquarist how many gallons is ur aquarium your fish tank with the turtle and the other fish like the flowerhorn and the convict
Hey there aquarist! I have this one tiger barb that keeps nipping other barbs’ tail. I have isolated him into his own bowl but i love the little guy and wonder if I should continue isolating him. Is there any way to tame him given enough food and space?
Hi, Sg Bearded Aquarist. You got a nice tank. I love tiger barns too! What’s your largest tiger barb, male & female? How long have you been keeping them to this size? I heard they get to more than 4 inches in the wild. What do you think?
Hi can I check how long did it take for your tiger barbs to grow to that size? And what type of good helps promote their growth? I recently bought 25 of those at around 2-3cm. Hoping to Comms them with my thaisilk.
My biggest ones i got them as juvis and they got to that size in about 4 months. Any good quality food would do, i would say more importantly is multiple meals a day and very clean water. Low nitrates.
I plan on getting 35 tiger barbs for my 65 gallon
I thinking of keeping tiger barbs!
Great helpful video awesome
I've always liked Tiger Barbs
I love all barbs, but tigers are awesome. In a large enough group, they'll leave pretty much everyone else alone. I've even kept them with a betta (plakat) without issue. They ignored him. Sadly, I lost the majority of my tigers due to a ph swing when I did a large water change. My water comes out of the tap like liquid rock, but it turns acidic in the aquarium. Small water changes for me from now on!
Omg so sorry to hear about the loss. That must have been a really drastic swing. They are such hardy fishes. Hope you give them another go and yes, small water changes!
Thank ypu for sharing sir very informative, hope we can colab in the future.
What collab are you thinking of? Where are you from?
about our hobby, but im too far haha, im from the philippines bro.
people have criticized me in the pass because my fish dont seem to school, but i think thats because they don't feel threatened. the only time ive ever seen my barbs truly school was when i introduced angels into the tank. they were like "woah who are these guys". pretty interesting to see.
Yeah sounds like your fish are pretty happy hence they don't school!
I very like your channel and I hope you will update many more clip on youtube( my friend)
Thank you! Updates are always coming :)
I love tiger barbs you're my favorite fish.
The albino ones are even better but I can't find him anywhere other than online stores and I really don't buy anything online.
Albino ones are really common here in Singapore. Not too hard to find the green and red varieties too. Where are you from?
I'm from the 10,000 lakes area Minnesota
What size tank do you have? I have a 75 with a 5 inch Oscar so I was wondering if it would be possible I have gotten other answers from Reddit not to do it but I am curious to see if it would get along with my Oscar
Nice VIDEO BRO 👊😎
Thanks bro! 😁
Ashley, do you think it’s possible to keep tiger barbs with a couple of Needle Nose Gar (xenentodon cancila)? I was worried the needle fish would try to eat the barbs but I see you mention they aren’t ideal food for show fish due to size. Great channel.
Hi Xavier. I gotta say this is a hard one. Follow me through my thought process. First I would factor in the gars current diet. Has it been train to eat live food for its entire live? Was it once on live food but now dry food? Or was it always in dry food? The ideal is never eaten feeder fish before. Or not even frozen fillets. But this affects your odds. Even if it is on live food right now its still possible, just very risky.
Next, current size of gar. If its gigantic or small enough that the barbs cant fit into its mouth then again, good odds. I've seen this with arowanas. When they are big enough, they ignore barbs and tetras because they are insignificant and not worth the effort.
Finally comes down to the size and scape of the tank. A big tank gives more room for the barbs to swim at a different level from the gar and maintain distance. A scape allows them to swim in and around it to become hard prey (and hard prey is usually all it takes for a fish to decide to just ignore it altogether).
If odds are in your favor and you decide to try.. i would add them in cautiously too. Ideally the barbs go in first then the gar but if you already own the gar and netting it out is too hard, make sure the gar is very very well fed and add the barbs in at a different spot and time you usually throw food in. Adding it at night when everyone is asleep might be even better.
Hope this helps!
SG Bearded Aquarist thanks for the great reply brother. I haven’t purchased the needle gars yet. The setup is 75 gallon with plenty of plants. I’m thinking of getting three baby gars at about 2.5 to 3 inches. And the tiger barbs and clown loaches will already be in the tank. Remember, the Asian gar will be wild caught so they will already be used to chasing prey. But they will be very young. It should be interesting. Thanks as always for the great advice and the awesome channel. Keep it up. Cheers from over here in Miami, Florida.
They are In the same family as cyprinids which includes goldfish, carp, minnows and others
Bro i just stumbled upon your vid. Damn! How did you get these tankmates to work
I do love the blood parrots. Is your white fish a parrot as well?
I thought so at first but later found out its actually a short bodied pink convict cichlid. At least thats the consensus. Goes by the common name Jellybean Convict!
Planning to get a shoal of these but where do they sleep? Do they mid swim when sleeping? My clown loach fill the bottom of the tank and I don't want to create competition for that space.
Hi. I'm new to fish keeping and right now I'm cycling a 30gal or 120liter tank. I'd like to put zebra loach and tiger barbs in it. Are they compatible and how many of each would you say to get. Thanks
Where are the fish shops in Sg where mostly Tiber barbs are available. It is my favourite fish since 50 years ago, I am going to acquire a 3 footer aquarium and I need advice where to buy in Singapore and what should be the thickness of the glass to be SAFE for this size. For a 3 feet long aquarium what ought to be the Width and Height of the glass. I also need a a simple metal structure support. Thank you for any prompt advice.
You can find tiger barbs at very decent price at clementi 328 row of aquariums or at nanyang trading aquarium as well. For the aquarium aspect, I might not be the best person to advice
