Same thing happened to me today....and I called my husband to tell him the bad news...and yes, he got really mad,, and much more mad when he came home to see it in person. Just curious, what's your reaction when your wife damaged your garage?! 😅

i forgot to put my car in park and let my foot off the brake and i bent the heck out my parents garage door, i had to stay up all night trying to fix it without waking them up, you helped alot, thx

Did you get all the dents out? I have the door working now, but the dents are so obvious. The door is some kind of plastic and it's hollow so I can't get to the dents from the other side unfortunately.

Glad I saw this vid tells me that the slight bend on one of my panels can be correct unlike the repair guy telling me that a panel on a 11 month old garage door may be bad.

What if the top screws came out would I still be able to put the hinges back in ?
For the hinges on the inside, probably not, but maybe you can just move them over a little and make new holes for them

@Because Stuff Breaks with Justin Peters The garage door place didn't offer me the option of repairing it, but because of your video, a friend was able to come by and fix it for me. All he had to do was remove one of the center hinges and hammer out the bend, and now it works perfectly. We probably wouldn't have thought of doing that without your video, so you both saved me $1800 on a new door. Unfortunately, the damage is all on the outside of the door, but otherwise I am thrilled. Thank you!!

This happened to me, i kind of hammered it in but its still bent. The door opens but with alot of effort, i'm afraid my spring will die early cause of this.
The spring isn't going to be affected by that. You need to be more concerned about the opener motor burning up or the opener pulling the lifter out of the door if the door gets jammed. Thanks for watching!

@@simonshah8570 I had a door jam once and then the opener ripped the lifter out and then the door came crashing down. Thank God we weren't under it when it happened.

Well....Im here... because I backed up on our garage door halfway open, totally forgot about it and it hit my car antenna... oh lord! And now it won't close fully.
Are the bottom rollers out of the track?
To be honest, it's not really that bad, yes there's a dent in the middle but it's not like it's destroyed or something, everything is intact, rollers still there.. but the LCD screen says "Error code 4-1 excessive closing force detected" ..I want to fix it myself but I don't want to touch it because he's mad at me right now lol 😅
Lol. My wife is the one who hit the garage door. I could tell she was very nervous to tell me, but I was excited to have something to record myself fixing and put on CZcams. Sounds like you just need to straight everything back up and it will work. Let me know how it goes with you and your husband. I'm sure there's something you can give him to fix that.
@@becausestuffbreaks I'm a new subbie by the way! Tha ks for the response! Your wife is lucky that you're a handyman! Unfortunately in my case, my hubby doesn't have the patience to fix stuff.. Between the 2 of us I'm the handy-girl! I like fixing! So we'll see tomorrow if he will "let" me fix it or he'd rather call someone to fix it. I don't know yet, we haven't talk since this afternoon lol he's at the basement and I'm upstairs doing housework all day to compensate for it. Lol
