  • The Peugeot 308 has been given a facelift for 2017 as well as a new 1.5-litre Blue HDi 130 diesel. We headed to Europe to see if enough has been done to keep the family hatchback competitive in a market inhabited by the Ford Focus and VW Golf.

Love the noise. It sounds like a supercar. Well done Peugeot. Great review.

I thinkg the Golf has no chance against this! Driven them both and I love the PUG! The chassis even in the standard Peugeot 308 is class leading (look for km77 moose & slalom tests)! Ford Focus is ok but left me somewhat cold.

But the difference is huge!! Ok, is smaller than competitors and rear suspension is awful, but try and find similarly priced focus or golf with 130hp 230nm, petrol 8.9 sec 0 to 60 acceleration and torque converter transmission. Hint- you cant. That's why in my opinion 308 have no competition.

Golf chassis is badly setup so I don't understand your point of rear suspension or are you a believer of technical solutions rather than what works in real life? ;)
