Fun fact, the little girl who voiced Boo wouldn’t stay still in the booth, so they let her wander around and just followed her and recorded what she said.
that is so adorable 😆
And they reused her squeals for toddler Riley in Inside Out.
I love that for the DVD release, when they had Mike and Sully on the CD, the hole in the center of the disk is where Mike would’ve been. 😂
lmao forgot about that, you unlocked a memory in me xD
The greatest running joke of any franchise, honestly 😂🤣
I'm 47. I cry every time Boo says "Kitty" and Sulley's face lights up at the end.
Yea, that ending is so so sweet.
46 and same ...
I'm 58 and the same thing happens to me
I’m 22 and it happened to me as well.
The end, where Sully goes through the re-constructed door, and Boo says 'Kitty'....i cry every time.
It's such a wonderful ending.
@@kenfreeman8888 Its so poignant.
Fun facts:
The character of Boo is voiced by the daughter of one of the employees. Her name was Mary, so Boo’s real name is Mary, after the kid that voiced her. All of Boo’s dialogue they got from just following her around with a microphone.
The voice actors for Mike and Sully did a lot of the recordings in the same room with one microphone. This allowed the directors to get a lot more interaction dialogue and make it flow better.
- this was around the time Pixar would do animated bloopers with the characters during the ending credits.
PS this was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. I was 3 years old
Could you imagine Billy Crystal & John Goodman as Woody and Buzz Lightyear? Well, at 1 point they were considered to be the voices, but instead Pixar went with Tom Hanks & Tim Allen for those roles, then later had Billy & John be the leads in Monsters Inc.
@@-M0LE nah, Tim Allen was Buzz, no Goodman.
Interesting! I do remember hearing/reading that Hanks was the second choice but I don’t know if that was to Crystal or someone else.
Yeesh.. Glad it happened the way it did. 😬
The sequence where Sully believes Boo is crushed in the trash machines is an almost shot for shot remake of a Chuck Jones Merrie Melodies cartoon called “Feed the Kitty” about a bulldog (Marc Anthony) and a tiny kitten (Pussyfoot). The kitten is so adorable that the huge dog adopts her and tries to hide her from his owners. At one point, while exploring the kitchen, it seems like the cat falls into a mixing bowl and is cooked into cookies, all while Marc Anthony watches from out the window with the same expressions Sully has watching Boo be “crushed.” It’s a nice reference since in both cases, the cute character is fine the whole time. Glad you liked the movie, truly an adorable Pixar flick. If you’re going through more of them, Wall-E is probably my favorite.
I absolutely love that particular cartoon!
When Marc Anthony puts the cookie on his back and sadly walks away I just can't control the tears. 😢
Every single time I've watched Monsters, Inc. I've ALWAYS cried as soon as Boo shows up. She's just such an ADORABLE character!! And that voice!!!! And the innocence of her (like all babies) is just refreshing.
The restaurant was named Harryhausen's in tribute to Ray Harryhausen, the man who invented stop-motion animation.
Monsters Inc. is one of the sweetest animated movies I ever watched. Just a brilliant movie, and your reaction is the best.
Hihi, didn't notice before that the "abominable" snowman is serving snow cones, which are of yellow color (you know, as in "yelllow snow"). He also mentions when they run out, "I'll go outside and make some more." :D
"O shit! He's checking for poopers! " :)))
There’s a show now. It’s called Monsters at Work. It’s on Disney+. First season came out like in 2021 and season 2 is suppose to come out this year. Season 1 takes place within the ending of this movie after Sully realizes laughs could be an alternative and before they show they switched to laugh power. It focuses on the transition of going from scare power to laugh power and how it wasn’t that easy.
Fun Fact.. the restaurant they go to is called Harryhausens, after Ray Harryhausen the master of making early monsters in movies from 1949 on!
This was pretty mind blowing to see in the theater. Sully's fur blowing was amazing enough, but the door storage room was crazy on the big screen.
Your thumbnails are very clever and adorable.
I dare say the photo for the video adorable in part because I could see her if she was the little kid dressing up in the costume for a funny time playing/goofing about as a little girl in the situation.
If this was your favorite animated movie because of the emotional touch, you may just love Inside Out. I think the other Pixar standouts are Coco, Wall-E, Rataloutille. You’ve already seen toy story and incredibles.
billy crystal is TOO FUNNY in this movie! 😂 and that little girl character is ADORABLE ON STEROIDS! thank you for sharing this movie with us ☺
When this Boo fails to recognize Sully as the threat he represents and calls him Kitty I get melty. Randall's stealth mode? Scary. Nice short features on the dvd. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER eat yellow snow. John Goodman, Billy Crystal, outstanding. Steve Buscemi excellent as Randall. Happy holidays Dasha.
Great and smart reactions! The Toy Stories, this Monster's Inc, and Nemo had me choked up as much as smiling. Thanks, once again, for the smiles and sincerity!
The end of this movie makes me cry every single time.
Ghost World (2001) is a classic Steve Buscemi movie you have to see. 😊
The ending of this movie is pure perfection. 🥰
@Ray Price too bad Pixar canceled the sequel to this movie 😔
@@rickymoranjr9609 They did make Monsters University, but it wasn't on the same level as the original. To be fair though, they've made some other fantastic movies since, such as Wall-E.
@@raeldor you said it
I consider Monsters Inc. one of Disney's best movies, EVER! And thank you for reacting to it and Sharing it with us.
"Monsters are very competitive, you know?" I blame their parents. Best. Mike.
OK, Dasha, now you need to see "Wall-ee". You will really get your heart strings played!
20 years and I just got the subtle yellow snow cones joke
7:51 I loved watching this movie ever since I was a kid, and I never thought of this before. 😂😂😂
I read that they followed one of the crew’s daughter with a microphone, recording her and that became the voice of Boo.
Awww, Desha is soo cute on that thumbnail.
In case you were wondering about the toy on the floor, that happens to be Jessie, a character in "Toy Story 2". It's about as good as the first one.
Also, the movie that came out after this one was more of a prequel, as it's called "Monsters University". John Goodman, Billy Crystal, and Steve Buscemi all reprise their characters from the first film.
Yeah. Dasha should have watched Toy Story 2 first. Hopefully she realizes it when she gets to TS2.
The first 10 or so Pixar movies are great. Then it becomes hit and miss after that but they still make good movies but for the first 10 movies or so that they put out it's like they were Unstoppable. Not because of the successes of the movies but because of how much people love the movies. A Bug's life, all the toy stories, cars, Finding Nemo to say a few
21:35 That's the mobile trailer from the Bug's Life movie, and the Pizza Planet truck from the Toy Story movie.
When my daughter Rebekah was 3 she had no problem watching Jurassic Park but was scared of Monsters Inc.
Fun trivia note: Shortly before Toy Story 1 was released, the 4 guys in charge of Pixar got together for lunch and brainstormed ideas for other films they could make if Toy Story was a success. During that lunch, they came up with the ideas for Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, and Wall-e.
That's one productive lunch.
Wait till you see Rango, it's the best animated movie ever made. Johnny Depp does the voice of Rango.
I would have loved if Dasha would have reacted to the bloopers. I know it was shown during the credits on the DVD. Would have been great to see Dasha laugh more.
Huh
@@Miguel323527 A few Pixar movies had outtakes after the movie. Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc. Like if the animated characters and voice actors goofed like if it was a real movie. You can find the Monsters Inc. one here on CZcams.
@@dustman820 ok
Dasha, please watch Moscow on the Hudson, starring Robin Williams as a Russian immigrant to New York City in the early 80's for comedy, drama, and romance; all of which you shall definitely appreciate! Thanks in advance from a big fan of your's!
"That thing is a killing machine!" "La la la la la" -- That is the funniest part of the whole film.
*#Dasha** is rocking her (Mr T) starter kit around her neckl📿*
4:02 Randall talking like Lahey 😂😂
Love this movie. Saw it in theatres with my sister and her kids. Showed it to my daughter many times. So good.
Super reactions to Monsters Inc, Dasha!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽The Pixar movies really do a great job appealing to both children and adults. The "Toy Story" films are probably the best sequels from Pixar.
Now you know why Doc from Baby Driver doesn’t like being fed lines from Monsters Inc
"This movie came out when I was just a baby..." *Matt Damon aging meme*
Please consider THE IRON GIANT (1999)
YES!!! "Welcome to Coolsville ... population? Us! 🤣😂😂🤣😂💘🤖
@@LightsCameraJake 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Great reaction! I am glad you watched this movie. It is my favorite Pixar film.
The end does the same thing to me. Every. Single. Time.
As in life, I'm always crying about or over something. Usually over things I witness in nature that remind me of how people SHOULD BE. And when I see a father out walking with his child. Because I didn't have those experiences with my own parents or the "guardians" in the foster care system. So, I was really moved by your reaction, Dasha.
#SteveBuscimi is an amazing person (on top of being a great actor).
He stars with #AdamSandler and #BrendonFraser in AIRHEADS ... an amazing Rock Comedy. I highly suggest you check it out.
Keep up the great work Dasha!
That ending makes me cry every time.
Just so you know, Mike is voiced by "Miracle Max" in _Princess Bride,_ and Sully is "Walter" in _Big Lebowski._
When i babysat my little cousin, i would put this on and she would stand watching it mesmerized
Thank you so much, this was adorable 🥰
😎👍 I've noticed that you've already watched "The Big Lebowski," which also starred John Goodman and Steve Buscemi. There's still lots of other great Disney/Pixar movies to watch. Check out "Finding Nemo" (2003) 🐟 and "A Bug's Life" (1998) 🐛.
Boo is still the cutest baby I've ever seen.
Glad you enjoyed it Dasha. It’s a wonderful movie and one of my favourites ☺️⭐️❤️
Thank you for sharing your enjoyment of another good movie with us.
The scream exractor looks a lot like one of those masks with tubing that they put over your face and tell you to count down from ten when you're going under anesthesia. Because of this movie, every time I go to a hospital for a major procedure, I'm like "do not put anything over my face while I'm conscious. If I need anesthesia, knock me out with an injectable. If I need an oxygen mask or anything like that, I'll put on myself."
Great reaction! Loved the movie, loved watching it with you.
there’s also a prequel to this called Monster’s University! :)
I thinks it's great that the movie states that they live in "Monstropolis", which is a portmanteau (a blending of multiple words to form a new unique one). So, Monstropolis is a portmanteau meaning Monster + Metropolis. Metropolis is one of the usual generic names the use in movies and TV shows when they don't want to refer to a REAL place. Other examples of generic names besides Metropolis that are used are, Metro City, Smallville, Central City, Center City, etc.
However, but I think it would've been much funnier if they had called the city, "Monstrosity". In case you didn't know, the word "monstrosity" means, a "thing", which is usually large/humongous and unsightly, like a "big building". So, the name "Monstrocity" could serve as a pun (i.e. double meaning):
1) Monster City, a large city sounding name, like (similar to, "Grand Rapids", a REAL city in Michigan)
2) Blended with the meaning of the word, monstrosity (large, unsightly)
IDK, it sounded funny in my head 😁😊👍, but "I" wouldn't go in there if I were you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Dasha saying it came out when she was a baby informs me that she's like a year or two younger than me. That is a horrifying bit of info. Being older than people is a greatly upsetting proposition. No birth year is supposed to begin with 2 >:c
Say whut
I clearly remember when i went to see this movie to the theater in 2001 i was 5 and now 27 years old. Good old times.
Fake 👆
You should do Despicable Me or Finding Nemo next
WELCOME TO THE HIMALAYAS!! lol my favorite part in the movie.
My favorite Pixar film!
Great reaction to a great film 👍
Those bloopers at the end were extremely funny! I bet the animators had a great time making them also.
So if you like Monsters Inc, there's a guy on CZcams who makes entire songs just from clips and snippets, and he does a song from this movie. Look it up, he's Pogo and the song is called "Boo Bass".
This meme is based on "The Odd Couple" TV show.
I use to baby sit my Nephew, and this was his favorite movie to watch. I get emotional when I watch it now....
i love your thumbnails 🤣❤
Boo? KITTY!!!
😃
Lilo & Stitch might be the other top Disney/Pixar movie
Not to be missed.
Much like Toy Story 2, this has "bloopers" during the credits.
This is one of my favorites.
Love this -- I have cried at every Pixar movie I've ever watched, I think. This one, and Toy Story 2. I REALLY cried at, lol.
That trailer house is the same one that's in another Pixar film : a bug's life
If you get around to watching the Disney movie “Brave” there is a very interesting connection to this movie in the Brave movie
I love the thumbnail.
Crushes: Niki Glaser, Aubrey Plaza and Dasha 😅
Other great animated films you should watch are the Despicable me films and the Wallace and Grommit films.
The Wallace Grommit films won several oscars. I'd watch 'The Wrong Trousers' first, which is massively popular.
Aardman who made Wallace and Grommit also did a collaboration with Dreamworks to make another film 'Flushed Away' which is also great fun.
Could not disagree more. Wallaca and Grommit is psychological torture to me and Despicable me is Despicable me.
Love your Chain 😁
Monsters Inc, is a classic and definitely one of Pixar's best films, my personal favorite though is Ratatouille, can't wait to see your reaction to that one eventually!
Probably my favorite Pixar film, too.
Fantastic invention, hilarious movie
This movie always makes me cry lol
0:57 Thanks for making me feel depressed. Lol
There’s a prequel, Monsters University, its pretty good!
Great reaction as usual Dasha. Did you ever think cartoons could make you so emotional? Pixar is great at story telling. Go through their entire catalog. Wall-E is one of my favorites. Boo's doll wasn't Woody, but Jessie from Toy Story 2. 🙂
"Monsters University" is next!
Dasha actually give me life, did she watch the end credits?
The best western animation movie, but I like "Over the Hedge" (2006) a smidgen better. Have you considered some eastern animation movies, like "Princess Mononoke" (1997) or "Spirited Away" (2001)?
Thanks for reacting to this... Hope you'll be able to watch it's prequel - "Monsters University" one day.
May I suggest "Joyeux Noel"? It's a war movie, but a good choice for christmas
Dasha certainly looks like a monster...
in the thumbnail 😃
❤❤❤❤
Love this movie ☢🍓
