Fun fact, the voice actress for boo they had a hard time recording her voice so they had to follow her around the booth with the mic while she’s running
I imagine it being a nightmare for the studio to capture clean audio while running around. It almost impossible to get clean sound with the mic constantly moving.

What makes the scene where Sulley scares Boo a bit more sad is that Sulley has been always the top scarer for who knows how long, and he never seen the effects he gave to the children until now. So when he began to realize that Boo has become frightened of him and loses his trust, it slowly began to sink in knowing that this is what a top scarer does to children.
Plus in Monsters University, they call back to this one by saying not using the right roar will make a child cry and not scream

Fun Fact: 21:23 This scene originally had the restaurant blowing up, but because this movie was made a month or so after 9/11 it was changed to be a forcefield. This goes for a lot of other movies made around the same time where certain scenes were changed.

Fun fact the force field on the restaurant was actually supposed to be an explosion but this came out during the 9/11 era so explosions were a touchy subject so they changed it to the force field
But still, the explosion would make more sense and also why the bag was burned. They forgot to remove that.
Lilo and Stitch had to do something similar, where the plane the character's were supposed to fly during the climax was changed to a spaceship, and the city landscape was changed to mountains.
Believe it or not,originally there was a scene where they blew up the whole restaurant but they replaced it due that the film was released near the events of 9/11!
Monsters Inc. was my childhood growing up, it's kind of a shame this movie didn't get a sequel apart from Monsters at Work.
It was actually supposed to get a sequel where Mike and Sulley visit Boo for her birthday, but realized that she doesn’t live at her house anymore. So the two would have to go on an adventure to find her. But it was cancelled.

One of my favorite scenes is before the end, Mike surprising Sully with the door and then the shot of his calloused, raw palms to show how much time he was digging for these specific scrap pieces of wooden shrapnel . Idk it just showed great character, how much Mike cares for his best friend even through all his selfishness/ self centeredness he knew this would be the best way to give back in some manner

after watching this, and the prequel, you should watch the sequel series, "Monsters At Work". Season 2 just finished airing. The first season is decent, has a lot of heart, and a good slow progression, but Season 2 is MILES better, with more drama and more lore involving both movies.

In the original drafts for the story, Sully was meant to be a failure of a scarer like the monster in the beginning, with Boo being an older girl who would actually show him better ways to scare children. Somewhere along the line they decided to make him a savant in the field instead.
Plus, there were different theories about this to like especially the Incredibles two theory though like how Jack Jack is supposed to be in this one because the news report people say that sort of stuff but this is why we need like more back stories again just so we can like see what else happens
I heard somewhere that someone made like a fanfiction sort of rendition of Boo all grown up with a kid of her own, and Sully is old when he visits boo. When boo sees him, she says "Kitty?" and it's really wholesome because she remembers
