"Now that Earth has been restored to a life-sustaining status..."
🤨 "-ish!"
🤣
1 thing that I like about WALL-E that not enough people bring up is that if you isolate the parts with just WALL-E the story works, but if you isolate the parts with just the Captain the story also still works. It's 1 of the few Disney films that actually does a subplot that is just as interesting as the main plot.
Agreed 😊
Good catch I never thought of that 👍
Nicely put, that is very true.😊
I love that Dasha watches a wide variety of movies and unlike some CZcams reactors, is broadminded enough to actually comprehend appreciate them, but seeing her watch movies that make her go "Awww" is a singular delight.
Feels like you made up a person to get mad at.

Indeed
I said in a previous video that in 1994 the 4 guys in charge of Pixar got together for lunch & brainstormed ideas for other films they could make if Toy Story 1 was a success. During that lunch, they came up with the ideas for Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, & WALL-E. Well, WALL-E was the last of those 5 films made, 14 years after that lunch took place.
explains how only the brainstorming made good moviessssssss
4 instant classics.
And A Bug's Life.
But how can you plan good movies when you are not sure of the exact cultural talking points and what relevant virtues to signal at that time?
Are you trying to tell me focusing on good and interesting stories is more entertaining than focusing on political rhetoric, humbug.
the weakest film of that bunch is still better than 80% of movies out there. goated lunch.
@@nrrork awww I love A Bugs Life!
2:43 "Oh, well. He's not a morning robot." That's okay, neither am I!
"What a waste of resources. I don't think they swim." 11:27
I don't know why but that part took me out 🤣🤣
4:55 the cockroach is there because of an old joke that the only things left after a nuclear war would be Twinkies (cream-filled yellow sponge cake filled with huge amounts of preservatives for longer shelf life) and cockroaches (all human and animal life died from the bombs and fallout, but the cockroaches survived).
So WALL-E has a cockroach friend, and he feeds him a Twinkie.
The most romantic and sentimental tearjerker movie ever.
This movie is brilliant. You think it's just about a robot, but it speaks to the Human condition on top of it.
Couple of things: first, you should watch the credits, they're an epilogue of the story, with a sly joke - the song is by Peter Gabriel, who was the first lead singer of Genesis. And, the voice of the ship is Sigourny Weaver, and it's a direct nod to all the scifi she's been in. And, while it may not seem like it on the surface, this was a cyberpunk movie - it has all the key elements; ecological destruction, a megacorp that's assumed governmental powers, loss of humanity through technological dependence, AI or technology running amok, and an iconoclast protagonist that starts off as part of the system but later rebels. And like many c-punk stories, the protagonist seeks some sort of redemption for themselves or others that does not exist in the world they know.
agree up to the cyberpunk...its sci fi, pure and simple.
yes, yes, yes, yeah-no walle just wants some cute robo booty from outer space and indirectly earth. if you really wanna take the cyberpunk aspects fully then wall-e should've gone the way of i have no mouth and i must scream where upon wall-e would have a loathing for all things human.
Are you serious? We got to see her tear up, laugh, saw Hugo, and we saw her care about robots and a cockroach. ❤ this might be my favorite video of hers 😊
I"m with you. Definitely my favorite reaction I've seen to this movie, and maybe my favorite of any movie from anyone. Fantastic reaction all around.
11:17 "They only look at the screens!" said the woman looking at a screen to the thousands of people looking at their screens 😁...
😆😆😆
Cuteness overload 😊
Pixar really can hit the heart strings, love reaction
8:51 " poor cockroach is now alone." 😥
:(
I think more people need to talk about what a hero Captain McCrea is!
Speaking of underappreciated points, I love the fact that when Captain McCrea "lands" the toy Axiom on the globe, he lands on Africa, not America, not Europe, Africa. That actually is an important statement.
4:06 "Oh, that's _another_ robot. But it's a... _fancier_ robot."
To be clear, Wall-E was _already_ pretty impressive. But he's been working for a couple of _centuries,_ while humanity has been away, developing _upgrades,_ and this is _one_ of them.
Dasha, be sure you don't miss the epilogue through the end credits. It gives you a glimpse of what happened next!
I completely missed the credits when I saw the movie. Thank you mentioning it.
One of the best credit rolls ever.
I agree, and I always worry that reactors don't get to see them because they pause and start sharing their thoughts... 😅
Plus you get to hear one amazing Peter Gabriel song "Down To Earth" czcams.com/video/KTQD0weUTF8/video.html
Wall-E definitely has one of the best end-credit sequences ever. I love how the art style evolves as the story progresses.
AUTO is one of the few Disney and Pixar villains to never actually be inherently evil - only acting on orders that he had received. Even his attempted murder of WALL-E was not out of malice.
The code AUTO gets to never return to Earth is A-113, a code used in many other Pixar films. It references the classroom at the California Institute of Arts where Andrew Stanton, the director of the film and other Pixar staff learned animation. This is the first (and only known) time A-113 was incorporated into the film's plot, as well as the second time overall that a Pixar Easter egg has a major role in a Pixar film, with the first being the license plate of the Pizza Planet truck used by the toys to chase down Al during Toy Story 2.
AUTO is the only robot in the film who speaks in full, unprogrammed sentences the way humans do. The Stewards' sentences do not count, because it is programmed inside them.
AUTO also appears in the WALL-E short film BURN-E, but only as a very minor character.
AUTO is the only main Pixar antagonist who temporarily succeeds at killing the main protagonist, but still ends up being defeated in the end.
AUTO's "voice actor" is so far the only case where Pixar has used a non-human thing to voice a talking character. Apparently, sound designer Ben Burtt had recorded his own script and injected the vocal transcription into MacInTalk to generate AUTO's lines.
AUTO's role in the movie is a matter of debate. Whether he is a true villain preventing humans from returning to Earth because he wants control, or is merely doing everything he can to follow the orders he was given has been debatable among fans. This issue can be looked upon either way.
Due to AUTO's apparent lack of true sentience (he was always very mechanical) it is very possible he was just following his program - however, when a machine follows its program, it can easily be seen as "evil" by human beings since a being that is run purely by logic does not have the capability to understand ethics (in fact, ethics are often the opposite of logic) - this means beings that follow program often appear ruthless, authoritarian and even evil: the idea of a being void of emotion is alien to a lot of humans, and thus is seen as negative regardless of whether or not the character itself is "good" or "bad".
Another theory states that he is neither "logical" nor "ethical". However, ethics, which govern proper conduct, must always be in accordance with reason. It can be said that a rational being would interpret mankind's position in the Axiom as physically and intellectually decadent, while their return to Earth shows a realization of duty and a sense of active control over their own fate. Because such a solution is defended in this way, it can be argued as the ethically correct solution for the way humans behave.
Often, a cold and emotionless logician does not factor in some of the subjective values that must be taken into account when considering the conduct of people, but AUTO is not trying to think of the best course for humanity. Thus, he is illogical. He operates logically within the confines of his programming, but this is limited to a single mission: "stay the course," and "do not return to Earth." He only thinks of the most efficient way to keep these things true. Thus, he is not "evil" in the sense that he has malice or ill-intent for his own self-benefit. No, he doesn't think at all, he just does. He is an extension of an outdated order from centuries past. He is amoral, though his actions, not the being, are immoral because they would ultimately harm mankind.
Sometimes a animated cartoon can carry a deeper message. In the end humanity returned back to nature and escaped being dependant upon technology. Wall- E gives out that message really well and your commentary Dasha was ultra cute. You really dive into a movie and give honest reactions toall movies, and that is appreciated dear lady
The robot language and sounds were created by award winning audio engineer, Ben Burtt. He is most famous for his sound designs for all the Star Wars movies.
nice
Wall-E is the cutest, sweetest ambassador for robots, just as Dasha is for Russians.
What Dasha said at the end about getting attached to a robot girl and a robot boy made me reflect on a CZcams reactor on different channel who said she couldnt feel sad watching the opening of "Up" because the characters were "obviously not real." That difference reminded me of psychological studies about different people's ability or inability to feel empathy for anthropomorphized inanimate objects.
I couldn't feel sad watching Up b/c I'd known these characters for about 10 minutes, I had no investment in them and it just comes off cheap and manipulative
@@helvete_ingres4717 I did feel sad because they packed enough into those 10 minutes that you can mentally fill in the blanks and get a feel for all the decades they lived through together. That doesn't mean that you were wrong, just that you were coming from a different place mentally/emotionally.
It's not full-on psychopathy, but it's down that road a bit.
With many comedic scenes in movies, I laugh the first time or two I see it, and from there on it makes me smile, but rarely actually laugh out loud. The scene where Wall-E puts a dirty tread print on Mo's face is one of the exceptions. It always makes me laugh. Never gets old.
The man behind the amazing sound effects of original Star Wars did the sounds for this. Ben Burtt gave it soul.
I really enjoyed that they made the Captain virtuous and heroic.
I'm not ashamed to say the ending gives me happy tears
The story shows that the human spirit lives. Not just to survive, but to reach out and live life.
“He’s not a morning robot.”😅🤣
WALL-E and UP were Pixar being MASTERS at "showing, not telling" in regard to story-elements. Not just settings, but history, life arcs, and emotional connections.
So sad that this type of visual representation has been lowered over the years. But during the WALL-E/Up era, they were far better at it than anyone else.
Damn cartoon making a grown man tear up
Damn ninjas chopping onions 😢
"I don't wanna survive. I wanna live!"
At the end of “The Martian,” when Matt Damon uses the oxygen tank to fly, he references “WALL.E,” a fun callback.
Also Gravity with the fire extinguisher
Genuinely one of my favorite films of all time. When I saw it in theaters, I realized how good Pixar had gotten at storytelling without words after Wall-E was repaired and didn’t act like himself anymore, because I heard a little kid say out loud, “Wall-E died…”
Some trivia for you, the voice of Wall-E was provided by someone very important to the history of robots in cinema, Ben Burtt. He’s a sound effects engineer who created pretty much every sound effect in Star Wars, including R2-D2, lightsabers, TIE fighters, Darth Vader’s breathing sounds, as well as single handedly popularizing the Wilhelm Scream.
The lifeboat Eve tries to send Wall-E away in is numbered 1912… because that was the year the Titanic sank, an important year for lifeboats.
The voice of the computer of the Axiom, where the captain gets his information about Earth, is provided by Sigourney Weaver, who plays Ripley in the Alien films.
Been waiting for this , one of the best pixar films ever ! 👏
Remember watching this in theaters, loved Walle
15:20 I love how you say, Rrrrrogue Rrrrrobot! It's adorable, never change! 😂❤
The imagery during the end credits tells the continuing story. It's beautiful.
9:10 "...like the puppies falling in love or something."
the cuteness 🐶🥰
Wall-E is one of my favorite movies. With so little dialogue they were able to tell a love story. Loved your laugh when Wall-E put dirt on MOs face. 😀 Love the Hugo cameos too. 🐶
Every time in the first act she's like "Aww, it's so adorable!" "It's so beautiful!"
I just start beaming because I'm thinking "Oh, you ain't seen nothin yet."
This is my favorite Pixar movie by a mile. And a strong candidate for my favorite movie full stop.
I've always questioned why he did not use spare parts mix & match the other robots to rebuild them before this new modern exploring robot came to visit
One of Pixar’s best works during their good years
The future humans are not supposed to be obese; they are meant to be like babies. Babies sit or lie all the time, they can’t move or do things on their own, and all their needs are provided for them by someone else. But when it’s time, they start learning, and walking, and doing things for themselves. Even the humans’ clothing is meant to resemble a baby’s onesie.
We learned from The Martian though that plants would flash-freeze on exposure to the (relative) vacuum of Mars's very low pressure atmosphere, and certainly to the vacuum of space, which would kill the plant.
This movie is rare case because there are no incompetent characters. Just two opposing goals
Wall-E is an animated masterpiece.
The amount of character and emotion they managed to draw out of basic shapes and almost no dialogue is just amazing.
If you haven't already watched "Short Circuit," it is an amazing robot movie
I remember watching 'Tobor The Great' way back in the early 60's when I was a child. Tobor the Robot gets 'killed' and I cried my eyes out.
Heh, if they can get you attached to a static volleyball, it's child's play to get you attached to a robot that emotes.

The Incredibles, WALL-E and Up are by far the best Pixar films I've seen. Brilliant storytelling.
"oh my goddess" count went over the top on this one 😅 - "so adorable"
"Wind in my . . . this things. I don't know how it's called. Whiskers." Do you mean the things on the cockroach's head? Those are antennae! 🪳
For a long time.. I was Wall-E.. I know what it's like to have been forgotten by someone I loved. How many years I spent holding my own hands like he did.. Waiting for the girl I loved to remember me.. To remember who she used to be... And it didn't happen.. She died last June in my arms with me telling her that it was going to be ok and that I loved her.. The girl I fell in love with never came back... And now I am truly alone..
@DashaReacts
There's a Russian reference in Wall-E that I think you missed. When Wall-E is hanging on to the outside of the rocket ship as it takes off from Earth, and it crashes through a whole bunch of satellites in orbit, one satellite briefly gets stuck to Wall-E's head. When he turns his head the satellite detaches and floats away. That satellite is Sputnik!
Another lovable robot movie is "Short Circuit"
1:36 fun fact this was explained in the WALL-E games, in which they got destroyed by a sand storm
Btw WALL-E is 700+ years old .. google says "Personality. Because WALL•E has been alone for 700 years, he has developed a "glitch": sentience and a personality. He has become very curious and he keeps anything interesting he can find."
If you watch the credits at the end of the movie you'll get an idea of what happened after they got back to Earth! It shows them eventually building things and getting thinner and back to a healthier way of life!!
your dog is a spirit , at 2:15 i saw him disapear then magically reapear at 2:21... it was incredable
Hi Dasha! I love WALL-E, it's so touching. And the late great trumpeter & vocalist Louis Armstrong crooning classic tunes. *sigh*
"It only takes a moment." A cpl of the songs that are sung used in this film are from movie musical, HELLO, DOLLY! starring Barbra Streisand, Walter Matthau and and British actor Michael Crawford (whom originated the role of the "Phantom" in the musical THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA in London's West End & on Broadway in 1987 & 88. I was a teenager when I saw it back then).
Gotta love Sigourney Weaver's voice on the ship. She's terrific as a voice actor.
Excellent reaction as always.
Michael Crawford was also Condorman.
As an in-joke, they had Sigourney Weaver play the onboard announcement system from the movie "Alien."
Dasha gives the best reactions of all. A very intelligent and good hearted woman.👍
25:53 "... warm feeling, like miracles happen..."
wow, if a movie made me feel that way I would definitely give it two thumbs up 👍🏼
Now that you've watch WALL-E, you really have to watch BURN-E. It's a short film about a repair robot on the Axiom and what he does takes place during the movie. It's really funny. You'll love it.
Such an enjoyable movie, and I loved your reaction, Dasha.
It is not just another "Robot Love Story", of course. It has so Much Heart.
But on a serious note, it also provides clues for a current topic,
the potential dangers of Artificial Intelligence. Otto, programmed to serve the Captain
as best he could, had trouble compensating for a changing situation, and became
the enemy. An internet-connected AI that misunderstands something -- anything -- could be quite dangerous.
You know, as an entomologist, I have to tell you that insects don't feel anything at all, which means they see you or a human as a source of nutrition.
Director A. Stanton said he was inspired by ‘Trumbull’s underrated masterpiece Silent Running’…
With Bruce Dern! Excellent film.
@@Stogie2112 I agree, I see reading comments how this film is more appreciated nowadays than in the past decades.
This was the first Blu-ray I owned. The sound design is so good.
This film makes me cry ...
I can't tell you how many times I had to watch this over and over, I mean when the movie ended, start again Grandpa 😃
What an absolutely fantastic reaction, certainly my favorite I've seen for this movie, maybe my favorite reaction to any movie by anyone. Thanks for really making my day. So... Wall-E or Monsters, Inc? :)
22:10 - "He's walking!!!" So. Dang. Funny. That really made me laugh. 🤣
Other upper tier Pixar films I think you should see are Ratatouille, Inside Out, Toy Story 2-3. Thanks again, Dasha!
Disney really fell off the bandwagon on their recent animated movies. I think this is one of the last movies that made me shed a tear.
I was hoping for Short Circuit 1 and 2 by now.
System diagnostic and command operations. I think we just figured out what Dasha does for a living.
Your pure reactions to movies never fail to make me smile Dasha!
Sooooo adorable, Dasha. Who knew HELLO DOLLY was so important for our future. I love this nearly silent movie. Wall-e and Eve are a cute couple. There is a nice short feature BURN-E. I'm really wanting to see those Pizza plants. I'm guessing they could be out there since years ago there were these spaghetti bushes or trees out there. I even think someone was growing marshmallows. So anything can happen on April 1st. Lots of smiles today Dasha. Thanks
*Wall-E* looks like the a baby robot conceived by *Johnny 5* from *(Short Circuit)*
Might be my favorite Pixar movie (making it pretty close to my favorite animated movie of all time). Pretty close between this and Finding Nemo.
"He's not a morning robot". 😂 No, he isn't.
One of the easier to spot A113s in Pixar movies.
It's weird how all the junk on Earth in the first act is all from like a century before humans even fled the planet.
An old, top-loading VHS. An old game of pong. A CRT television with dials on it and shit.
It's like a version of Earth that never advanced past 1979... except for the near-instantanious interstellar travel.
0:54 dasha dancing 💞
The movie that Wall E is watching is “Hello Dolly”, a classic musical. Could be fun to check out
Supposedly it was the musical that killed big Hollywood musicals.
@@amyjordan195 it’s not the strongest of all the musical movies out there
Ever since Dasha's reactions started to be censored on editing, I started cherish every reaction of her she's not gets over censored.
Wall-E always reminds me of the movie "Short Circuit" (1986), check it out if you have a chance :)
I agree!
“The robot has a very, very sad face.” Yep, she’s definitely Russian.
A very underrated film suggestion that I know you wil LOVE… What Dreams May Come starring Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr.
TV show that someone with your attention to detail would be fun to watch is The Last of Us. It’ll make you absolutely SOB, but the story is worth it. 9 episodes, it is a modern day classic.
I was so happy when I saw you're reacting to this one. There was no way in the world you wouldn't love it.
Beautiful movie, lovely reaction.
Your dog is back!! 🙂
If you have a chance, watch "Burn-E". Takes place at the same time a Wall-E and shows how Wall-E caused so much trouble for a maintenance robot on board the Axiom. Its short but amusing.
this is a top 10 for what it is.. wall e has been so alone he learned how to love...
wall-e was a garbage/recycle robot... it looks like he was the last one..... the humans sent out a probe E.V.E. to show earth can be re-inhabited... and this movie is fun cute but sad all at the same time
5:36 hugo is the quietest puppy 🐶
I had a fish thing too. Mine sang "Let it snow". It was a christmas gift from my cousin, and I hope it was a regift and he didn't spend money buying me that.
If it was just hanging there, it was ok, but when it sang it was like a dead fish moving, really creepy. I remember I didn't want it in my room when sleeping.
While Incredibles is by far my #1 Pixar film. Wall-E is a Mary Poppins category of movie as in “Practically perfect in every way” The ending OMG, Urgency, Herculean effort, followed by hope then utter despair… and well you know the conclusion. This is a perfect movie to see Dasha’s reaction. Still want her to see Ladyhawke.
In my head cannon there were gene and seed banks onboard the Axiom that were then used to restore life to earth after they returned. And a call was made to bring back all the other ships still out in space.
Amazing gurl. Watch these shows like a beast!
Still one of my favourite movies!
🤖👍 If it's of interest, the movie that Wall-E is obsessed with is the 1969 musical, "Hello Dolly" which is well worth watching in it's own right. The use of it in this film was a harbinger of things to come, as a decade later, Disney wound up purchasing 20th Century Fox.
Dasha: 😦 U killed WALL-E!
AUTO: 🤖 I HAVE KILLED WALL-E, BUT I HAVE SAVED THE PASSENGERS OF THIS VESSEL
Yeah, AUTO’s just following his programming.
I really love how passionate you are when reacting to these videos. ❤️
I've loved this movie since I first watched it. It's a beautiful series of love stories (Wall-E and Eve, Helpful Purpose or "directive", Friendship, Loyalty, Humanity, Earth, etc.) But until today I didn't know how much I wanted to hear Dasha say Rrrrogue Rrrrrrrrrobots. :-)
Pixar knocked the ball out of the park, story first followed by ground breaking animation
This is my favourite Pixar film. Everyone says _Toy Story_ or _Up_ - and those films are superb, but _Wall-E_ is near-perfect. Maybe because I identified with WALL-E - a vertically-challenged loser who loves a girl from afar. Maybe one day I'll find my own EVE (though at 41, I reckon it's too late).
21:38 - This reminds me of one my all-time favourite film lines, from _Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country_ : "If there is to be a brave new world, our generation will have the hardest time living in it."
Work out and get buff, and girls will flock-even girls who “don’t care” about that sort of thing. Forty year olds often have an easier time than twenty year olds, because while men are attracted to beauty, women are attractive to resources. Men age like wine, women age like milk.
