10:25 lmao i always loved that "Give him the Bob Barker treatment" joke. Bob advocated making sure your pets were spayed/neutered
The white bronco reference wasn’t just for car chases in general, but the O.J. Simpson chase specifically.
It was all we had to watch for days; got in the way of cartoons and everything.
Beat me to pointing it out
Dude what!? I never caught that!
@Andre Juarez Yes, his car was -- famously, after that chase -- a white Bronco (Ford SUV).
@@bigdream_dreambig that is WILD man! of all the things I missed as a kid. I guess I accepted the obvious cops and catnip joke and never looked any deeper. Shrek made an OJ joke, good lord.
Probably the best joke in the movie.
29:00 - Puss in Boots is a 16th Century Italian fairy tale, so the character's name is pretty much set in stone. Puss is voicesd by Antionio Banderas who starred in The Mask of Zorro a few years earlier. So they're playing on that connection as well.
When Donkey fell over backwards, he said "I'm coming Elizabeth". This was an ode to Redd Foxx, a comedian and star of his own sitcom "Sanford and Son" in the 1970's. Elizabeth was his departed wife and every episode (it seemed) he would say this and fake a heart attack to get his way with something. This movie had many little things like that.
Sanford and Son was the US version of Steptoe and Son, a classic British sitcom which is still hugely popular.
@@speleokeir Amazing. You really do learn something new every day.
One of the best movie sequels ever!!
What about "Ice-Age" ?
@Mathias Weitz or God father, terminator, back to the future, Aliens, beverly hills cop or lethal weapon
Arguably THE best sequel movie, period.
8:36 I thought she was gonna say "he hired a kitty." I was thinking "Wow! She can tell straight away just by seeing his eyes?" 🤣🤣
I could, but I'm a cat person lol. I think Dasha's a dog person.
@@jeremyfrost2636 I honestly couldn't tell the first time I watched this. But then again, I was just a kid. I thought he had like a lizard's eyes as a kid. Like a reptilian.
You missed the exciting reveal in the credits concerning donkey. Go back and watch it, it is very cool. Great reaction Dasha. Your commentary is always so cool.
Mongo was the true hero, a child marched to war. RIP noble cookie
What you said RIP Mongo.
Dasha- the name "Puss in Boots" is from an Italian fairy tale, later spread throughout the rest of Europe and the world, about an anthropomorphic cat who uses trickery and deceit to gain power, wealth, and the hand of a princess in marriage for his penniless and low-born master.
7:24 "I misjudged the fairy- fairy godmother."
Yeah. We _all_ did. She was _written_ that way.
Whoa! I forgot what The Fairy Godmother was made of. Literal tears. Weird.
This movie is a masterpiece, thanks for the reaction
Puss In Boots is one of best parts of the movie!
I love the additional cast they added for the second movie. Antonio Banderas, John Cleese, Julie Andrews, Larry King, Joan Rivers. The casting was just fantastic.
Dasha missed the White Bronco reference.
In the UK they replaced Larry King with Jonathan Ross (a British talk show host). He wasn't as good, because part of the reason that joke is funny is because Larry's voice is so deep, while Jonathan's is not.
They also did the same thing with Joan Rivers, using a British red carpet interviewer instead.
21:40 "Oh my gosh! It's like a car chase!" Not just any car chase. They say they're chasing a "white bronco"; OJ Simpson was famously in a white Bronco (Ford SUV) when the police were pursuing him to arrest him for the murder of his wife and her friend.
The 3rd film is also good. Also "Puss in Boots" is an Italian fairytale from 1860 which is why he is called Puss.
You are SO fun to watch... And you are very sharp with the jokes... Keep it up young lady!!!
2:59 That's from the classic Frankie Laine western song Rawhide, from 1958, about herding cattle. The next year it was used as the theme song to a TV show of the same name which ran through 1966. The lyrics of the chorus are:
Move 'em on, head 'em up, head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up, Rawhide
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in, ride 'em in, cut 'em out
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in, Rawhide
As the father of three wonderful daughters I can tell you that you're right. No one will ever be good enough for my daughters. However, as a man, I would do whatever I could do to encourage and support whichever man each of them chooses.
Impart whatever wisdom and guidance you can to their suitors. While you can't prevent your daughters from choosing who they want to have a relationship with, you can offer advice to the young men on how to be better men. A good man should be goal oriented, motivated, and focused on what steps they want to take to provide a future for themselves and potential family of their own. I have met the parents of the women I dated, and I only date with intent to marry. Make sure to vet the men for their intentions, and encourage your daughters not to give time to men who aren't interested in long term/marriage oriented relationships.
Here in Britain it's pantomime season and Shrek is basically a cartoon panto. Pantos are theatre productions based on fairy tales. They're for kids, but with lots of adult jokes too.
This Shrek film had a fantastic cast, I'm wondering how many of the voices you recognised?
- The King was John Cleese, one of the Monty Python troupe.
- The Queen was Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins/Sound of Music)
- Puss-in-boots was Antonio Banderas
- The Fairy Godmother was Jennifer Saunders, a famous comedian here in Britain.
And there were loads of other great actors and comedians.
Dasha if you liked Shrek's and Father-in-Law's relationship in this, you will love Meet the Parents (2000) with Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro...
Flippy! Hey, Dasha should react to Happy Tree Friends.
@@jeremyfrost2636 Bro...

12:03 "That's the Fairy Godmother's cottage."
"Then why don't we pop _in_ there for a spell."
Badum, _tsh!_
26:22 In case you don't know, "pigs in a blanket" is a common appetizer with tiny hot dogs or other sausages wrapped in pastry.
Your dog has a healthy looking coat. Beautiful. You are taking good care of it.
Holy, I never noticed the "Pork Illustrated".
That raises some... disturbing questions.
The female frog asking the King if she knows him is so funny
Donkey becomes the White Bronco from the O.J. freeway chase! 😂
"Happiness is just a teardrop away."
Can’t wait to see you watch Shrek the third, Shrek the halls, and Shrek forever after next. Especially, Austin powers goldmember.
@@nsasupporter7557 It wasn't as good as 2, but that's a hard act to follow. It wasn't bad though. Solid 7/10.
That white Bronco joke is pure gold. That's the famous car OJ Simpson drove while running from the cops. And you know OJ from Naked Gun too.
@@nsasupporter7557 It was explained to her in the comments of her Naked Gun reaction.
I've watched this movie 46 catalogued times and never noticed how alike Shrek and the King are. Both just want what they think is best for Fiona but are too stubborn to just listen to what she really wants. You have a real talent for pointing those things out and giving new perspectives to people like me who have seen it so many times before!
Most of the characters in Shrek are either from kid's nursery rhymes, kid's songs or kid's stories. The cat is Puss in Boots, a character from a children's story book.
bob barker treatment donkey eluded to was a segment from bob barkers show where the final moments would come he would say the message spay and neuter your pets.
Shrek 2 Post Credits, if you want to know what was wrong with Donkey's Wife.
“You dip the cookie” was hilariously adorable!!!
One of many reasons why this channel is one of my favs on YT easily. 🍪 🥛 😅
12:58 She's basically saying that *Fiona* doesn't live happily ever after because she's part ogre
26:17 they were that *CLOSE* to kissing but she never took that potion
2:29 That's from the theme song to the classic TV show Hawaii Five-O launched in the late 1960s. (That show is the origin of the slang expression referring to police as "Five-O".)
I like the Shrek movies and I liked Dasha's reaction to them. It was fun. Thanks Dasha for sharing this with us.
The fairy godmother helped the frog become a prince after he was kissed - the Princess and the Frog. That's why he owed the fairy godmother. AND why the lady frog in the bar thought she knew the king.
In the original script Dragon was supposed to become a Pegasus due to the potion's effects, but later in the development they decided the potion shouldn't be able to work on pregnant animals. I would have loved to see it, but I understand that what people want isn't always what the characters need.
One of the best animated sequels !
Hope you didn't miss the ending bit where Dragon shows up after the party.
Okay now you have to do Shrek 3 you will like that one too
Hi Dasha!🙂Nice to see the return of the "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" t-shirt. Hugo looking nice and healthy. Great reactions to the 2nd Shrek film, Dasha!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Please stop! I’m a grown man, 6.2” in my 60s. You just made me cry in the first 30 seconds with your puppy. Please!
The White bronco chase is in reference to O.J. Simpson
The white bronco chase was a reference to the car chase of OJ Simpson where he was in a white Ford Bronco. ✌️❤️🌹
You must watch Mask Of Zorro now Dasha, for more of the dashing and courageous Antonio Banderas! I still can't stop laughing when I think about him in the recording booth making the hairball noises 🤣🤣🤣
Once in a while, movies come along that are _primarily_ oriented toward _one_ particular age group, but written in such a way as to include material that _other_ age groups are going to appreciate. The _Shrek_ movies are movies like these.
Like, there's this clothing store called _Old Navy._ _Shrek_ pokes a little fun at them by having a store in the background called _Olde Knavery._ Is there anything the average parent is likely to object to in having one of their kids see this? No. But it's the kind of joke their kids are not like to appreciate. The parents are likely to appreciate it, though. This is a nugget added for the appreciation of any adults in the audience.
This sequel was very well thought out which is why it’s a masterpiece, your reaction was awesome
Hi Dasha, Merry Xmas to you & your family. Compliments of the Season to your other subscribers & commentators !! I always enjoy watching your reactions !! :)
Thanks for another reaction, i really enjoy them.
There is a scene after the credits you missed, i dont wanna spoil it but its big.
This film also had a post credits scene. You'll need to see this before watching the series further.
Fun fact: Antonio Banderas voiced to Puss in Boots 3 times, first, English (original language), second, Spanish for Spain and third, Spanish for Latin America
The Versarchery(Versace) and Epiphany & Co(Tiffany & Co) jokes always went over my head when I was young cause I never have been there.
I am glad you liked this movie. I enjoy watching your first time reactions because it makes me feel I am seeing a movie again for the first time.
The figure of the Fairy Godmother has been disneyfied a lot, but in the original fairy tales, the fair folks (or fates) are often sheming little buggers. Her portrayal as a kind of mafia boss is actually closer to the original than you think.
Nothing good comes with dealing with the fae
They pulled off a movie for kids while also entertaining the parents with adult ideals
Hi Dasha, love your channel. I would like to suggest, Child 44. It’s a Russian true based movie set in the 1950s. It stars Tom Hardy and it’s excellent.
There is an end credits scene that if you don’t watch something in the 3rd movie will be very confusing.
Another great animated movie Dasha reacted to was "How to Train Your Dragon"! (edited)
She already reacted to it. It's on her channel.
Remember 8:09 Once you know he used to be a frog... :D
We're not really allowed to use our phones during work hours but I will risk it for this one
Puss n boots went on to have his own movie.
And has another one coming.
I like that you like it, so nice to be on the lighter side 😊
Dasha, you already whatch the aftercredits scene? That scene explais why Dragon is in a funny mood
10:00 What does a 600 pound parrot say? (in a deep voice) "Here kitty kitty kitty"

Great job Dasha and hello Hugo! This was a fun reaction to watch and it was nice of Hugo to come say hi. Keep up the great work Dasha.
Dasha, the Lady who talks for the Queen is Julie Andrews. I don't know if you've ever seen the movie of "Mary Poppins" which came out in 1964. If you haven't seen it then please watch it. It's a Disney movie and Julie Andrews plays Mary Poppins. I would love to see your reaction to Marry Poppins.
Shrek is the reason why fairy tails are not boring 😂 love it. 2 I def my fav
I think you're one of the few female video reacters that laughs at dark humor, I love that xD
I also liked the third.
The 4th movie...I was sick and tired of their Marriage being in danger and they just repeated themselves in the 4th movie. "Aww...they've already done all this!"
It's worth it to catch the rest. While the 3rd one was not done as well, (but still has some great laughs), the 4th one had an interesting twist that wrapped the series up nicely. And hopefully, you went back and saw the after credits scene of this movie.
25:09 I freaking love you accent, it's so adorable lol
I would never take a "happily ever after" potion. I would not trust it.
We have an expression in English, "If it's too good to be true, it isn't true."
I miss the selection on the DVD where Donkey just starts randomly staring names for the movie, every one had donkey in the title
Me too. I called the Brady Shrek, if I remember correctly.
2:34 That's the theme song to the American TV show Hawaii 5-0. Worth checking out if you like cop shows.
In addition to Shrek The Third and Shrek Forever After, there's also a short holiday special called Shrek The Halls that's honestly one of the better Christmas specials and Puss In Boots has 2 of his own movies (the second one is in theaters now, I believe).
You missed the mid-credits scene. Go check it out.
24:45 to 26:01
DASHA'S reaction
"Do you know the muffin man?" is a classic children's song.
Along with the Shrek movies, you also need to watch the Shrek Halloween TV special.
It's been years since I saw either in their entirety, but 2 gets a very slight edge, because of the presence of Puss 'n' Boots. I'm a crazy cat daddy, I can't help it.
its about time !!! ive been excited for you to see shrek 2. sooo good. sadly the next few shreks arent as good. still good. but shrek 2 is unstoppable.
Banger after banger 😎😎
Being overprotective always backfires
I love the reaction 10:08
Oh my God she's so happy. 😊 I'm glad she's so happy, such a wonderful woman that gave me back my soul. 💔 amazing
Good movie 😊
Dasha, you gotta do 2 reactions to Antonio Banderas in his Zorro movies
Part 1:The Mask Of Zorro
Part 2:The Legend Of Zorro
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
You missed the post-credits scene...
You should definitely show more hugo.
White Bronco reference goes right over Dasha's head....LOL.
Привет Даша, из России удачи набрать много подпищиков.
this also brought on the age of question, Did dragon get affected by the potion, what did she turn into or as some would say, was she already perfect?
My biggest question is who was the mushroom's true love?
I actually had a theory that she gave birth whilst under the potions effects, hence why the children came out the way they did.
I wanna see the Shrek final chapter reaction! 😳
I feel like Hugo's name should have been 'Clifford"😄
Best sequel since "The Godfather 2" and "Police Academy 2".
i still wonder what dragon turned into
there was post credits scene 😞
