What I think matters more than the director is the story. The reason Gunn worked well as director in the MCU is that he was working with material he’d crafted himself and cared about. No matter the director, Marvel won’t ever have the success they did with the Infinity Sage until they figure out what the story they’re trying to tell is, get someone to write it well, then allow whatever directors they get to shoot that script instead of fiddling with it up until release.
I'm seriously worried the Marvel Studios has become allergic to talented directors.
Russo brothers aren't talented but they killed it in the MCU.
Its mostly that theyre allergic to non-yes men directors.

If they brought in Jordan Peele to do what most Marvel directors seem to do which is make the movie Marvel wants them to make while following Marvel’s instructions to the letter, then I’m not interested. But if they got Jordan Peele to pick a character he’s interested in and gave him free reign with that character, I’d be very interested

Yes. Midnight Sons. He’s become an accomplished horror director. I think he’d be a great choice.
Yeah, I don't think the directors are the problems. I'm not discounting their impact but based on what I've seen since EndGame, writing seems to be the problem.

I couldn't give a F. I just want to watch a good comedy at this point that isn't from a giant IP. I haven't watched a movie that made me laugh in years.
There won't be a Peele Marvel movie even if he directs one because Disney will drain it of any character it might have and turn it into pablum for man babies.

At this point, I wouldn't trust him to handle any of the white characters respectfully. He'd probably make a dope ass blade movie tho.
