    Hey Ralph, great video. I currently use the gx 400 and was wondering if you know of any tricks to prevent the film from sticking while cutting as it happened in your video. I also use this machine for paint protection film and am having issues with the film tracking while its cutting the film. Any ideas how to prevent this?

      When I use a plotter I have a table set up in front of it that supports the film. That keeps it from folding onto itself and sticking like it was doing in this video. I still stand next it to make sure nothing bad happens but that's what works for me.

    Hey Ralph, I recently watched you tint a vehicle with “cheap” film, I’m pretty sure it was you. Anyway, what’s the advantage of using better film besides the purpling effect we see later? Does it simply lie down better? Look cleaner?
    I recently used a cheaper film (I believe) I bought on eBay, and I can see on the film where I hear shrunk it... ?!?!?

    • @FlexFilmPlus
      @FlexFilmPlus  Před 5 lety

      Cheap film will cause trouble on every level. Usually make installation more difficult. Product usually does not look good. Product will begin to deteriorate rapidly from exposure to the sun. Peeling, cracking, fading, color change, and adhesive failure, etc.

    @smookee408 Před 5 lety

    Ralph you’re wasting time weeding like that. Put the pattern with the liner facing up and then cut on the edge of the pattern where the machine cut. Then do a cut outwards and now you can rip it at a 90 degree angle. Then all you’re left with is the pattern with liner ripped at the edge of the pattern. Hopefully that made sense.

    • @FlexFilmPlus
      @FlexFilmPlus  Před 5 lety

      I'm not sure I follow that???

    • @smookee408
      @smookee408 Před 5 lety +1

      I guess it was hard to explain. Basically with this method you’ll end up with a pattern that looks like you hand cut it. Lay the film liner up and make a 2” cut. Cutting the liner where the machine cut it on the tint side. Then go sideways and you have two tabs you can pull. If pulled at a 45 degree angle it will tear the liner exactly where the film was cut. With this method it’s super fat once you get the hang of it. An added benefit is when you’re shrinking you won’t get burnt liner like with the method you use to weed.
