And Cal who's a light side Jedi, That during the game uses the dark side because he needs to protect the ones he loves the most
It's an interesting dynamic, because Merrin was a dark side user that learned to see the light because of Cal. And Merrin in return saves Cal from being corrupted by the dark side. He shows her the light, and she protects him from the shadows

"Shipping" is the process of imagining two characters as a couple. Every fandom has a group of people like that, who go as far as write fanfictions where the characters fall in love and live some stuff together ; some even draw art for their ships.
Although to be fair, I don't like splitting people between "shippers" and "non-shippers". Most people happen to imagine certain characters together sometimes, it's natural. I'm sure some take it to an unhealthy level, but that's the same for everything.

I played a twi'lek slave character in a Star Wars TTRPG campaign once.
Started out by keeping tabs on the party for the Hutt crime boss who hired them, but over time, the character became the face with a silver tongue, able to convince people of just about anything, talk her way out of trouble, convince people that what happened didn't happen, or what didn't happen actually happened... Started as a slave, ended the campaign as an entrepreneur. You can have more mature themes, and still tell a good story, with good characters. The Acolyte isn't it.
