  • Time to UPGRADE your Ring - 3ct Lab Grown Diamond vs 5ct Natural Diamond Solitaire Ring
    Is bigger better? And how big should you go? In today’s video, I compare a 3ct Lab Grown and a 5ct Natural Round Brilliant Cut Diamond Engagement Rings, and give you some tips to consider when you’re deciding to purchase or upgrade to a bigger stone. Which one would you choose? Let me know in the comments ;)
    With 3ct Natural diamond starting at $38,000 and up
    With 3ct Lab grown diamond starting at $16,000 and up
    With 5ct Natural diamond starting at $90,000 and up
    With 5ct Lab grown diamond starting at $36,000 and up
    #bybonnie #3ctround #6ctround #engagementring #labdiamond #roundcut #rounddiamond #solitaire #6prong #flushband #signature #signaturesetting #labgrown #platinum #cathedralring #knifeedgeband
    Tip #1: What does having a tapered band do? It helps accentuate the center stone and can give the illusion that the stone is bigger when you wear it.
    Tip #2: Cathedral settings allow you to have a thicker and more flush wedding band.
    Tip #3: Think about how and where you’re going to wear your ring. Will you be wearing it daily? At work? In social settings? During physical activities? Considering your lifestyle can help determine what will be a suitable size diamond for you.
    Tip #4: Don’t forget about the wedding band! Cathedral settings can usually accommodate a thicker wedding band, whereas a knife edge might not give you as much clearance between the wedding band and the prongs around the center stone.
    Tip #5: Solitaire settings are some of the most forgiving on the color of the diamond. Without stones on the band to compare and contrast with the center stone, you have a wider range of color options when selecting your diamond.

    I don’t think a diamond can ever be “Too Big” lol , at least not for me ! I have a 5.94 carat round brilliant in a custom made tulip style setting in platinum and I still stare at it all day every day !!! These are both gorgeous though !

      Not me lol, I wear a size 5 and I don't think I could stand anything over 2Ct. I am just not a big blingy person and I work with my hands and have to wear gloves all the time so it would just get in the way. It's awesome that's what you love though. Some women look amazing with big bling I'm not one of them though

      @@mandywaynick8725 for sure ,if you wear gloves to work daily , I totally agree that a larger diamond would just get in the way . If I had to wear gloves to work daily , I wouldn’t wear my wedding rings to be honest . My son just chose a 2.25 carat oval for his girlfriend and it’s gorgeous ! I love the look of the 3 carat diamond ring she shows here too . I even love my sister in laws 1.25 carat round brilliant on her . However for myself , I have always been a lover of jewelry and I had always wanted and dreamed of having a larger diamond . My Hubby’s uncle being a jeweler when we got engaged is the reason we were able to go larger like I always wanted and the reason we were able to custom design my setting together . Larger diamonds are for sure not for everyone though , I agree on that ! For me it totally works lol ! 🥰🥰💍💍💍

    Hi Bonnie, Love your videos. I've learned so much. One complaint; there's always a black rectangle covering half of your page and a lot of what you are showing. Could you make that much smaller? Oh, I lied. One more thing...when you're talking about your creations could you mention the price or at least price range for us serious dreamers? Thanks

    What would be the cost of a nice 2ct round or emerald cut? Man made vs natural? 2 ct is my dream diamond so I am trying to plan ahead budget wise. Color ?? Clarity is important to me, no less than a VS1 on a round and higher on an emerald cut.

    Even though that 5ct is amazing, I feel it would be too big for my size 6 finger. It would look like I just have a diamond sitting on my finger with no ring because of the spread of the stone, you wouldnt see any band. Personally, I would rather have a 3ct higher quality diamond. Personal preference.

    • @tigre9271
      @tigre9271 Před 2 lety +5

      @@ROISSYMOISSY I agree. It depends on your finger size. A 2 CT would probably be perfect for a size 4 finger. Personally on my finger, a 5 CT stone always looks like a cocktail ring. And I do have other rings with large stones like Moonstone and Mother of pearl which I wear on my middle finger.

    I notice the diamond on the shank, are they at risk of damage scratching on the worn wedding band?

    • @ByBonnieJewelry
      @ByBonnieJewelry  Před rokem +2

      Hi Ginger! Great question. They would touch but in terms of being at risk of damage and scratching the wedding band, it would depend on how you wear it. We recommend that people who are more rough and active with their hands get solitaire bands, and people who are gentle with their hands and don't do much housework are able to get pave bands. Hope this answers your question! -Team By Bonnie 💎
