I really keep thinking that the atmosphere of this soundtrack and how it blends to the game is so damn unique. No one other MGS has reached that level.

Woah when I hear the Introduction theme... omg... can't tell that any other game has such a good and mysterious menu theme. It sounds so epic that you can't resist to play this game.
It tells 1000 stories... so thrilling, mysterious, awesome... that game had such a serious atmosphere... It was always more than a game, more than a story. Playing that game for the first time felt like experiencing the seriousness of life for the first time (I played this when I was a child)!!! :D Sweet memories...
and I am still studying to it lol , my last stretch of college , metal gear is keeping me going ,

Greatest game I've ever played.
The best music in a video game EVER in my opinion. The theme was something to rival James Bond and Mission Impossible and the in game music was fantastic, it added so much atmosphere and tension you felt as if you were in a epic movie and I'd never felt like that playing a video game before. It left some impression on me as a nine year old and I still regard it as the best video game ever made. If Konami struggle for inspiration now Kojima's gone they just need to look at this masterpiece. Absolute perfection 👌

Thank you posting this. Duel and Encounter are my favorites, it brings back all my memories on playing this game on both Hard and Extreme. The music coupled with every scenario had my heart racing in every Boss Fight. 🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️

Back when games didn't have a problem with being quirky yet very cool. Nowadays, a lotta games take themselves a little too seriously with their AAA Hollywood-like budgets. Sure, it makes for awesome graphics and tighter production values. But I kinda miss that carefree personality of the older games. ;-; We need some of that funky quirk back.
+dantespimp Yeah I'm right there with ya. Metal Gear Solid did have an in depth story but Hideo loved to remind us it was a game. Things like that really helped to set it apart from any other game out there. Who could forget the time we had to put the controller in port 2 to beat Psycho Mantis or having to read the back of the CD case to get Meryls codec frequency? :)

After careful consideration, I can say that Metal Gear Solid remains the best of the Metal Gear series in my opinion. Due largely to the replacement of David Hayter and the terrible lack of story in The Phantom Pain(at least relative to the rest of the series), I shelved MGSV before I could finish it. And with my waning interest in gaming, Metal Gear Solid will probably retire in my top three favourite games ever played, along with FFVII and Resident Evil 2. I guess gaming peaked for me with the original PlayStation.

I played this game when i was like 12 years old, i can´t play the game with all the "hard" controls...and keep away like a month, then i played again and it was awesome!! I finished the game like 10 times or more, with the bandana, stealth, different endings, playing with the enemies, doing crazy stuff and etc... So goood old times!!
