This music really does a good job of inspiring dread. Not fear, not awe, but Kafkaesque dread. Something very dark lurks in the guts of Arsenal. A truth that may have been better kept under the ocean.

I’m so glad I decided to try this game out for the first time in 2021 October. I’m shocked it was made 2001, so many things are relevant to today and man the graphics and cutscenes hold up extremely well. Not to mentioned the characters and OST like this creepy theme - really ominous.
This one hit me hard recently because I applied it to a soldier in a desperate combat situation for the first time. Like imagine being called up by your CO and being told this. It'd be devastating.
Man, it's sad that MGS2 has gotten the praise and admiration it deserves only in the last decade. It was way, WAY ahead of its time. And considering how messy the entire MG storyline got after MGS3, with MGS4 and unnecessary prequels, the series should've ended here or with MGS3.
Mgs3 is a masterpiece as well, the saga could have perfectly ended there. However, I still play mgsv a lot so I really wouldn't want that game to disappear
MGS3 is one of the best sequel/prequels ever made. The whole series is a great story and franchise. If Kojima had made MGS4 with a bit more enthusiasm, it would have went better with the later games. By the time Kojima got to MGS3 he was wanting to move on beyond the MGS series but the fans kept wanting more. Kojima didn't put the same passion behind MGS4 like he did the first 3. This was seen again in Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. Peace Walker was great. Kojima had gotten burnt out on the MGS series and tbh with how Death Stranding went, I think he's reached his height in the gaming industry.
If i remember correctly, Colonel says "Honestly? You've been playing this game for a long time, don't you have anything else to do with your free time?"
This part didn’t last very long but god is it memorable. The fear of being caught and having no defense or way of taking them out was intense. Plus the game doing its best just to mess with you and this spooky music bring it all together into this beautifully creepy package. Plus the random sneezes, that sucks
The Colonel being AI with that skull codec face is one of the most haunting things my young eyes ever had to witness. Stuff of nightmares. Good job Konami, good job.

Wow I loved this game as a kid but I’ll never forget replaying it years later when I was old enough to understand it! It was such a powerful experience and one can endlessly dissect all the meanings behind it. A true masterpiece
COOLEST PART OF THE GAME!!! I MEAN ... WOW.. THE NOSTALGIS OF WHEN SNAKE AND RAIDEN WENT I THERE TO FIGHT THE LAST FIGHT WAS AWESOME!!!! GOOD SOUNDTRACK MUSIC TO PLAY DURING THIS FIHGT!!
I played this ages ago and never forgot about this soundtrack, amazing. Creeped me out back then, but I guess it was one of my first favourite video game OSTs.
The eerie beginning of the ost reminds me a bit of the anime called "monster".. just the vibe. I haven't really played any MGS games but i think it is time..
This is the music that plays right before you check out, for real, I OD'ed on heroin and I heard this exact same shit right before I passed out. Woke up in the emergency room thinking I was about to fight metal gear ray. Weirdest shit ever, still can't explain it.
This is honestly one of the best games ever made, and proves Kojima is a pure artist. Everything about this area is extremely disturbing, and completely changes the perception of what the game originally was meant to portray. The random and crazy codec calls from the colonel, the music, the ambience - it almost feels like a horror game. The player is now surrounded by a machine that has been completely infected by a virus. It is actually incredible how Kojima was able to immerse the player by including elements that make us believe even our own Playstation 2 was infected and compromised. You don't see things like this in video games anymore.
This moment felt like I was watching Evangelion's final chapters or something, it took me with my guard down, not to mention I was playing in the middle of the night with my headphones connected, I know some people found this funny because of the weird things the Colonel says and naked Raiden, but when I experienced this by myself it was just one of the creepiest moments in a game I had.
I think it goes like this, MGS1 is Evangelion episode 1-13, MGS2 Tanker is 14-15, MGS2 Plant is 16-24 and MGS2 Arsenal & NY is 25-26 and EOE MGS4 is the Rebuilds, I’m not sure what MGS3 and 5 are though. MGR is some action anime, I’ll be honest I’ve only ever watched EVA and Lain so I’m not too educated haha

infiltrate..... the enemy fortress...... outher heaven... destroy the final weapon metal gear
This music disables everything I have come to know and recognize.
I'll do all the work, you just go home!
Ill do the fighting! You can just go home!
This one hit me hard recently because I applied it to a soldier in a desperate combat situation for the first time. Like imagine being called up by your CO and being told this. It'd be devastating.
The flapjack with the tuning fork does a raw number on hairy carry. I need scissors 61.
I am confused with your statement.
No fucking way could I imagine a world without mgs 3
I certainly agree with how the series went with 4 and after.
This has been playing in my head like crazy lately.. I wish I could go back in time
You got a PSG-1? You can use it against Sniper Wolf. Hurry up and save Meryl!
I've accidentally thought the title were "Arsenal's nuts"
There are roses clogging your throat.
GSP is being torn apart.
*The Blob is here.*
If i remember correctly, Colonel says "Honestly? You've been playing this game for a long time, don't you have anything else to do with your free time?"
The answer is no.
Official soundtrack of this world
Big Boss here... Enter the track on the bridge to the right... Over.
I hear it's amazing when the famous
purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space
with the tuning fork--
does a raw blink on Hara-kiri
Rock. I need scissors! 61!
Yeah,i m one of the millions that played this part of the game, late at night and at a young age.
This plays in my head every once in a while when I’m “overthinking”
This is the only upload of this version of the song on youtube. good on you for uploading it
i love how it builds up and trails off over and over, like at 42 seconds. the alert phase makes the song tho.
Come back... The Fission is a Mailure.
The first few seconds sound like little tune when it asks you to switch to disc 2 in the original mgs1.
The eerie beginning of the ost reminds me a bit of the anime called "monster".. just the vibe.
I haven't really played any MGS games but i think it is time..
Such a fantastic composition. Every game in the original Solid trilogy has that amazing score.
Du lourd dans les tympans, merci gmaster2647.
This stage although the enemies were enhanced it still sent chills down my spine same as the flood level on halo combat evolved
This is the music that plays right before you check out, for real, I OD'ed on heroin and I heard this exact same shit right before I passed out. Woke up in the emergency room thinking I was about to fight metal gear ray. Weirdest shit ever, still can't explain it.
This sounds like something the Colonel would say wwwwww
lmfao
That sounds like some S3 crap going on. Watch out for A.I. impersonators.
This song is one of the most unsettling sounds I have ever heard in my life... It is beyond description
Welcome to our new reality. We need to fight against AI Voices and AI Art making apps, along with AI Writing software
Even my patience has it's limits. I just can't leave this thing up to you any longer. I'll do the uploading! You can just go home!
No matter what this will be the most unforgettable thing in video game HISTORY!!!
'Darling in the Franxx' OST Track #10 (called... 'In the Franxx') heavily reminds me of this one.
Both sound sooo trippy, and I freaking love it
This moment felt like I was watching Evangelion's final chapters or something, it took me with my guard down, not to mention I was playing in the middle of the night with my headphones connected, I know some people found this funny because of the weird things the Colonel says and naked Raiden, but when I experienced this by myself it was just one of the creepiest moments in a game I had.
I think it goes like this, MGS1 is Evangelion episode 1-13, MGS2 Tanker is 14-15, MGS2 Plant is 16-24 and MGS2 Arsenal & NY is 25-26 and EOE
MGS4 is the Rebuilds, I’m not sure what MGS3 and 5 are though.
MGR is some action anime, I’ll be honest I’ve only ever watched EVA and Lain so I’m not too educated haha
" Raiden do you copy? You must continue your m-mission."
This was the perfect theme music for the truth to start pouring out to.
The insane earth shattering truth.
Perfect
