    I've generally found Hori to be a solid brand who makes good officially licensed accessories. Thanks for the review. Fair and balanced.

    I bought 2 of them and also bought 2 13ft extension cables. Thay way, I'll just use the extensions for SFII and use the wireless controllers for everything else. I will say, I've seen reviews on other sites (reddit, etc.) where people said they had issues too. I get mine in next week, so I guess I'll see.

    I couldn't decide between this controller and the Nyko Mini Boss, so I went with Hori due to the "official" sticker that Nintendo slaps on their stuff. And so far it's been great, the DPad feels great as well as the buttons, haven't had any lag issues either.

    • @tinusn.4082
      @tinusn.4082 Před 6 lety

      The b-y-a-x buttons on the Hori are not exactly the same way aligned as the original SNES controller. That's my main concern with the Hori at the moment.

  • @galin3world
    @galin3world Před 6 lety

    I completely adopted this controler for my super nes mini and like I doesn't like the design of the console with the two dongles on the front I mod my console my two dongles are now on the machine, thanks to thie verry smart conception of the Hori dongles (I think they think about that whan they design the dongles (only people who have already open them can undestand what I would like to say ^^.)
    At the origine I hesitate between 8bitdo and Hori controler but I defintively happy to have make the good choice.
    1st the 6 action boutons on the front are so cool for fighting games.
    2nd the AA battery cause if I hate something with wireless things it's when you whant play you have dead battery here no problem just to keep 2 AA rechargeable battery ready to go. And more battery life semms to be verry good after one week of daily gaming I haven't recharge them.
    3th the historycal look cause back in the days the Hori fighting commander was THE snes controler and now with this reisue it's possible to revive this absolute amazing gaming experience ^^.
    I make this mod one week ago and for now absolutely no problem and I realy thinking about bought me one third for mod it on an arcade stick but I need found all material for make this little experience ^^.

    I bought one brand new past month for just 10 bucks, and every problem that others have found I experienced whit mine, the d-pad was mediocre and it looses inputs frequently. Very sad, I wanted it for my Wii, but had to return it, luckily enough a week later I scored an SNES Classic in nice condition in box for 50 dollars, so now I have the controllers that I wanted

  • @robowarriorx
    @robowarriorx Před 6 lety

    Straight up, this is the ASCIIware controller from back in the day, same adjustable turbo buttons and everything. For a 3rd party controller, that one was the most legit, though it didnt have that Genesis layout, at least mine didnt. It also had funky start/selet and a different D-pad, but otherwise was solid..Great for games like Phalanx.

    • @robowarriorx
      @robowarriorx Před 6 lety

      Also, when I first threw SF2 Turbo back up I couldn't throw any moves down at all...and then I realized my tv was set to optimal mode, and not game mode. Set the tv to game mode, and I was back to shoryukens and tiger knees.

    • @Madlittlepixel
      @Madlittlepixel  Před 6 lety +1

      Yeah thats rite, forgot about the ASCIIware, was a pretty cool controller back in the day! Hori has been making these commander controllers since before the Ascii pad. The Super Hori Commander and the Mega Commander were released before the ASCII Pad was released. But Japan only I believe, where as the ASCII was in the US.

    • @robowarriorx
      @robowarriorx Před 6 lety

    The D-pad is terrible.. Your review gave me hope for it. But I have been playing with it for an hour and now I am super frustrated with it. Where as the 8bitdo fc30 kicks arse for me. I nail all my moves with ease with the 8bitdo. I think you might have got lucky with yours, and there is probably some quality control issues with these controllers.. my dpad clicks ffs.

    Yo, I left one of the reviews on Amazon. I’m really surprised you didn’t seem to have an issue. I love Hori stuff but was so disappointed. Only difference I can think of between us is you’re using a hacked nes classic whereas I was using the snes classic. If and when you get the snes classic can you do another review?

      I have had the SNES Classic since Wednesday. Ive used it on the SNES classic rite after filming. Had exact same performance. No issues on my end. I honestly was ready to tell people screw this controller. But I had a good experience with it.

      That’s crazy then. I tried it again just now to ensure I wasn’t losing my marbles and averaged 15% fireballs but wired was 90% at least. I wonder if there are different versions from different factories in China. I almost want to take out the screws and look at it’s guts.

    • @Madlittlepixel
      @Madlittlepixel  Před 6 lety

      Im curious as well. Maybe some are fitted with a different pad under the directional pad? I was very honest with my review of this and feel its a good but not perfect controller. My performance is definitely better with the original controller, the dpad is for sure slightly more stiff on the Hori for me but not so much so as to not being usable. Im just unsure with the diagonal input issues people have reported as im not having those problems.

      I bought this controller a month ago for 17 bucks and I see what they mean. The range of this controller isn't that good, it cause the controllers to fill laggy due to drop signals. Fighting moves needs to be finessed a little bit more to be pulled off. Besides that it's not a terrible controller. It is really good for Contra 3 for double crush guns when you set the X button to Turbo hold.
