Hollywood's PATHETIC Blackwashing of History

  • Once again, Netflix misrepresents key historical figures. After rewriting history for Queen Cleopatra of Egypt, now Hannibal Barca of Carthage, from modern day Tunisia. It's a sad trend in Western entertainment to adapt history content for "modern audiences", and make it about representation rather than factual information.

If they want to reach a "quality depiction of black people" in hollywood, they will need to bring some original stories and characters to the table. Denzel Washington is an incredible actor! He should not, however, be engaging in historical roles twisting history. He’s on camera as being upset about a Brady Bunch skit and their comedic twist of “Malcolm X” at that year’s MTV Movie Awards.
And… how do you look at the statues and other artistic representations FROM THE TIME and think they weren’t exactly represented by the artists (artisans?)?! And, coins, statues, paintings, drawings, et. al…. Would have been done by artists of the day. More than likely, would have a more skewed of anyone that was not of their ethnicity. If Hannibal had been black, there should be some variation of his image by sculptors, engravers or painters/artists.
Their defense will be, “Why shouldn’t black actors be able to stretch their abilities by playing white roles?” Sure. Just as soon as you allow whites to play traditionally black roles. The Rainbow Community got upset when actors were wanting to play trans and gay roles. You know… stretch their abilities? But NOOOO! It should go to a trans person. What if all the trans people who tried out were shit actors?
17:15 Exactly! Indoctrination aimed at setting in stone of the minds of a few generations bad info. At least that’s the hope. Nevermind that young children might grow up and get into the science and could be able to do their own research which would likely prove their beliefs to be wrong. I’ve had my DNA analyzed by Ancestry. As a very pale individual and all of my DNA points to Western European heritage, where most people tend toward white skin. I have no trace of sub-Saharan African or other African DNA. Yeah… ONE individual found with different DNA, possibly suggesting dark skin? That’s not proof of a majority having had existed.
There’s a POSSIBILITY that a few dark-skinned people ended up in England and Western Europe and coexisted with the indigenous people of the region. It doesn’t mean it was common or that they had been the original inhabitants. It’s amazing that this so-called “evidence” for “a bigger black presence” in history has only been brought up more recently. But somehow, that is “proof” to some that black people have been oppressed and suppressed throughout history, and that it’s some vast conspiracy. I believe evidence. I I realized about thirty years ago now, that when presented with the evidence Jesus Christ would have a vastly different appearance than the “accepted” idea he had a very Western European appearance. That he would resemble the Jews that lived in that region and that since a beard was considered vulgar at the time, he likely would have been clean shaven. Some of those details could be disputed or proven wrong, but likely, it’s still more true than I, as a Western European descendant, would be considered to find more acceptable.

Hannibal was a mauritanian(or numidian, same people really) which is a black country that was conquered by the Arabs after Islam so unless at one point in time white people ruled Mauritania, then he was black. at the end of the day what you guys don't understand is 3/5 of the mauritanian population are Sudanese descendants so the argument you're really having is are Sudanese people black Arabs or are they just Arab and not black at all. this is a real argument in Sudan today

@@ast.george3565 Only presenting geography as an argument does not work in antique Mediterranean history because the cultural fault lines did not follow continents back then. The Mediterranean functioned as a super-highway, so the region where cultural exchange and travel took place was "The Mediterranean" which comprised southern Europe, Northern Africa and Western Asia (Levant). People around the Mediterranean could have very similar heritage independently where around the Mediterranean you took the sample from, so to drive your point home you have to present genetic or colonial evidence alongside a geographic birthplace. Many cities around the Mediterranean sea were Greek or Phoenician colonies for example.

The pre historic skeleton found in England did not have sub saharan genetics, but the reconstruction of his face makes him look that dark. To say that Britain was a fully 'black' country before the white people is just nonsense.
