Can confirm. I'm English, white, family has been from here for generations and the overwhelming message that i've received over the last 15 years is that my country and my government hate me, i would absolutely never join the military because i have no desire to spend my life defending people who despise me.

@@Akendesuu It's complicated. There are several reasons acting together. One big reason is the ideology of liberalism. Another influence is wokism which is hostile to ethnic identity of any Western people. Another big reason is the class system which originates in the Norman conquest of England in 1066. Another big reason is the people who rule Britain don't identify themselves as English (or Scottish or Welsh or Irish) but have different ethnic interests altogether. If you're from Romania, be glad that your country had decades of misery under communism, it had many downsides but it was an excellent vaccination against wokism.

@@Akendesuu They don't hate him. He's making it up in order to play the victim card. The reason the UK military, as with all other public sectors is suffering is tory austerity,, tory useless rule and the redcuction in GDP (approx 5%) due to brexit. We can't afford the size of military we had 50 years ago.
Then add MOD procurement into the mix and it's easy to see where all the money goes. We have an aircraft carrier that cost billions sitting idle because there's no money to utilise it.

We are in the age of freedom of information! I'm not saying to hate your country, but to be fair and have morals, that's what makes a man. just one example: the Jews are today massacring the Palestinians on the land of their ancestors because of: Pastor BLACKSTONE, Cromwell, Balfurt who sold other people's land to Rothschild and that is already a crime!

More crazily, even though she is in the navy she never had to go anywhere near a war. Within months of joining the navy, she was told she was being sent to some war zone. As if by magic, she had an affair with one of the officers, got pregnant, and was excused active duty. Now nobody wants to join up and if they do it's a long process carried out by a profit driven civilian contractor who haven't got a clue what the army wants. Penny pinchers in Whitehall have cut cut and cut again to the point where if the Falklands happened today we would struggle to put a task force together. Add to that the army that remains is still treated badly both in service and after you leave so it's no wonder no one wants to join up. All the money saved by cutbacks has been diverted to our ever growing social security bill boosted by mass immigration. All in all this country is in a terrible state with no patriotism or discipline. 😢

I would resist anyone conscripting me, I grew up watching my father suffer from his war years in 90's Yugoslav wars. I was born in Serbia, I still live here, we got 300.000 Russians who fled Russia after the war started, many draft-dodgers included, they all hate Putin and the war. First one family opened a bakery near my house, lovely lady, but unfortunately then it closed, next another Russian family opened a fast food place, and I talked to their son there. He said that during the 300k mobilization in September 2022 he was chosen to be sent like meat into Ukraine, and they threatened his whole family - if he doesn't go, then they will send his father, brother, uncles, to the worst zones in Ukraine. That's when they, as a family, decided that Russia is not a normal country, and decided to collectively leave. Now, unfortunately, the West discriminates these Russian migrants, so they only had few choices, Serbia, Turkey, Georgia, even Kazahstan or Mongolia. I gave this guy a friendly fist, called him my free brother, as is anyone who rejects to fight in these trash wars for the politian elites who benefit from us bleeding for them, ending up without arms, legs, wearing adult diapers, disabled in a Eastern European country with no facilities for the disabled, mentally shattered like PTSD. War is no video game, movie, or tv show, the fact is that both Russia and Ukraine value their fighters with minimal care, sending them like cannon fodder for the agendas of Zelensky, Putin and Biden. It is quite another thing to ask them to be spear-carriers for the New World Order. In my younger years I was quite patriotic and wanted to do my part, my dad was a chief petty officer in the Navy. Despite my physical and educational requirements exceeding the requirements,
I was rejected twice in 1999 and once again in 2000.
First, due to an administrative issue from a name change when I was 9, second time I was rejected for a diversity quota as that’s when it started to become a thing.
Third, went through the whole process with flying colours to be dropped last minute with no explanation.
After that it just wasn’t worth the effort.
If the last 15 years have taught me anything it’s that this country isn’t worth fighting for. The powers that be have actively made life worse for the working class and have blatantly screwed over the people to further their own political agendas.
In addition to that, I’m sick of being in a position where I have to be apologetic for being white! Multi culturalism just doesn’t work, there’s some prime examples in Europe of this. Yet the powers that be and many people ignore the problems and pretend these failures of society haven’t happened, ironically I feel the forcing of such ideals creates the bigotry it’s trying to avoid.

Then you say, but I want these 10 people to be 'diverse', as in non-white. So in one fell swoop you eliminate 900 applicants, leaving you only the 100 'diverse' people to pick from. Plenty to pick 10 people from you would say. Yeah, but previously your requirements were so strict so as only 1 in a 100 would make the cut. Because you wanted and needed that quality. Now you are left with only 1 good applicant, cuz 1 in a 100 after all. Are you going to leave the other 9 positions vacant or are you going to lower standards and get crap workers?
This is what DEI does. It shrinks the recruitment pool, it does not expand it and it lowers the quality of the people getting hired. You think you are reaching you didn't reach before? I was an Infantry Officer in the US Army from 2009-2018. I still have many friends who are active duty now. The Army used to publish a journal about the state of the Army, one section of which had a demographic breakdown of where soldiers came from, race, and what branch they were in. US Combat Arms were predominantly composed of white guys from the south, midwest, mountain west etc. That same demo has been demonized for a decade now and the recruiting numbers are showing. My active duty friend, who is an Artillery Officer, told me that their unit got selected to deploy to Poland for NATO training. Even stealing soldiers from sister Brigades, they could only manage about 70% staffing. The military has gone through periods numerous times when they're sure that technology will allow them to field leaner, smarter, and more nimble units. Till they get smacked with reality and have to recruit anyone and everyone again. I think next time this happens, there won't be anyone willing to answer that call, and for good reason.

The USA has a self proclaimed 'silent majority' who never shut up about how big their guns are an how many guns they've got. If you convince people their country is impossible to invade, less people will join the military to defend it. This influence could increase after Ukraine's self trained militias turned out to be some of the best units in the world.

I am enlisting in the military of a commonwealth country soon (not the UK). I have lived in the UK (mainly London) for nearly 5 years, I am able to get citizenship, however, after my time living in London, I would have absolutely no hope and pride for serving for the crown under the current Union Jack, these people are not the people I care to put my life on the line for and protect, they hate the crown, they hate the military, and they would most certainly hate me. I walk outside and I see crime left, right, and center. This country has lost the plot, it is not what my ancestors served and gave their lives fighting for. So many people I meet and know have been mugged, and there is nothing they can do about it. It essentially boils down to how this country cares so much for being woke and allowing immigrants in that don't appreciate the crown one bit, wont fight for it, and would rather commit crime. The statistics in London certainly show that the majority of crime aren't being committed by Britons (I believe the statistics are heavily under reported and are wrong, it has been proven before that arrested individuals have their race wrongly labeled often). Why should I fight for a country that has more care for foreign immigrants than their own people and their safety.

Here in the United States for MANY generations, the vast majority of enlisted recruits came from regions like Appalachia, the Mid West, and of course Texas. Lots and lots of young men from rural areas and small towns. As boys, most of these young men grew up in a culture of being in the outdoors, competitive sports and firearms. Many also developed basic automotive skills as well. As a result, the US military had an excellent pool of raw material. Sons enlisted because their older male relatives had served. It became a tradition. Wokism has largely destroyed this. It's worse now than post-Vietnam when I enlisted over 40 yrs ago. Why should we expect these young people to serve when they are constantly told their nation is evil???

It also has the best job prospects in UK due to availability of a large service sector, financial institutions and multi national companies. So it makes sense that military recruitment will be lower since young school and college graduates have much better Job / internship / research / apprenticeship opportunities that pay better, closer to family, easier on the body and most importantly, doesn't bring the risk of dying while invading and destroying other peoples' countries several thousand miles away.

The UK Armed forces were way ahead of the game. I attended a course at Shrivenham Defence Academy in 2005. During it and totally without context to the course, they marched in a team of civilian race grifters who then proceeded to give us a lecture on how racist we all were, and indeed the UK and everything it stood for. I was the only person out of 40 in the room who pushed back and told them they were talking nonsense and race grifting. The Directing Staff (DS) quickly shut me down. Although one of the DS did apologise to me privately later when she looked into one of the grifters ridiculous points I had dismantled.
Anyway after 30 years service I left, realising that I was serving to protect a nation that was busy facilitating it’s indigenous populations replacement through mass legal and illegal immigration and that our core national values seemed to have spiralled down to LBQXYZFiddler rights and radical climate change nonsense. Who’s going to join up and fight for that? Indeed I have got the hell out of the West and retired to Thailand. It’s better to be a foreigner in a foreign country than a foreigner in your own.

I have served in the Royal Air Force and the TAVR. The one thing I learned was men and women do not fight for Crown and Country they fight for the comrade standing next to them. In day's of old King's and Queens would fight along side their armies, not any more.
To me it seems that the UK would rather spend money on overseas aid, fighting pirates and illegal immigrants. Our Military are no more than the cannon fodder of the U.S.A. military, we go were the U.S say's we should support their troops. The " Stiff Upper Lip " has turned to Rubber.
Some months ago I talked with a Sargant in the Army about the rifle they now use. I asked what happened to the one used back in the Falklands War. He told me it was considered "over kill". The 7.62 round used could pas through up to 8 men standing one behind the other. The thinking today is it is better to wound an enemy so that it would need two other soldiers to carry him off the field, thus three men less to fight. But did they tell an enemy to lower the power of their bullets to.
The Falklands War Prince Andrew was there doing air sea rescue. Where was our new King? In Afganistan ( if I spelled that right) Prince Harry was there. Where was William? If the people in politics want to start wars then they should be the ones to go and fight them.
I am 75 years old with osteoarthritis in both hips and survived two cardiac arrests but I would happily join "the peoples army" but not with the pea shooter like the ones the Army has now. People won't fight for a Country that won't fight for them.

While in the Army in Germany in the fall of 1984, we deployed to Graffenweir training area for a 45 day training exercise. While there, we we billeted at Camp Achen and one night in the battalion canteen playing cards a British Sergeant Major and a Major came into the canteen. The Sergeant Major saw us playing cards and asked if he could join in, to which we invited him in. This guy was the best card player we'd ever seen and could do card tricks that blew our minds. He was larger than life and a true man's man and gave us a sense of comfort knowing we had men like this as our allies. After watching the utter destruction of the British military, I truly doubt there are men like this in the British army and wouldn't be surprised if it was frowned upon. Those were great days.
