I have only been cutting for about 2 years, and involved with the local gem guild. The older members remind me to try and make pairs of gems, not just for the practice or ear ring pairs but as an insurance incase of damage setting the gem. I'm almost at my 50th gem cut, I'll practice a bit more before I tackle the Greek Cross. Great Videos!
Sounds like great advice from the members of your guild! Let us know how your Greek Cross turns out!
Wow, What beautiful gems and great design!!
Thank you.
Thanks for a video upload after a break
You are welcome.
Thnks sir the idea how to cut and how to set passage number to cut in even number set up.
You are welcome.
I'm hooked to your videos I've been thinking about getting into lapidary but I'm not sure if I have the skills for it.
If I can do it, you can do it! ...and there are many awesome gem cutters around who will help you along the way!
I thought that girdle layout meant just round the girdle, and was just a limitation of the software
You may be right. However, I have seen instructions for a rounded girdle that say "Continuous Girdle". The notes on this design say 48 facets. Again, I don't know for certain.
Legal
Thank You!
Please let me know what is that liquid? From where I can buy ?
If you are asking about the Cerium Oxide that I spray onto the Tin Lap when polishing, it is 1 teaspoon Cerium Oxide powder and 3 ounces of water. That formula came from Nick Michailidis and I explain it in my previous video. You can buy Cerium Oxide powder as well s Aluminum Oxide powder and other oxides from most lapidary supply stores.
