This loss is a blessing in disguise
Losing against India in the Asia Cup, World Cup, and T20 World Cup is actually a blessing for Pakistan cricket. If they are serious about a long-term vision, they should permanently remove the dead-end liabilities who selfishly stat-pad, are unfit and lazy on the field, are neither pure bowlers nor batters, can't finish any important match, make repeated tactical blunders, and are jealous of each other's progress.

Yesterday's match was all but lost because of this same reason. We lost the WC final because of this. Pant was lucky many times in yesterday's match, or it would have been worse.

Mohsin Naqvi and board is the culprit, the root cause start from the top, everything need to be change.
Bumrah's full tosses (and generally all his balls) are generally difficult to hit coz of his release point (& also coz of his awkward action) which is some inches forward than other bowlers' release points. So, Bumrah's balls always seem to arrive quicker to the batsmen as compared to other bowlers even if the speed is the same (say 140 kph).
Above that, Bumrah executes most of the time his variations with so much accuracy. Also as a batter (or even as a viewer) we generally do not know which variation he is going to bowl next, which makes the batter always guessing.

@36:00 Shadab's poor show and form with the ball was evident after asia cup 2023. He returns back to Pak, wastes time attending Shaheen's wedding thinking that some magic will happen in India. It didnt. He then gets injured against SA after really poor 6 games. He and Babar could have mutually agreed to bench him and bring Abrar from reserves. However, you scratch my back and i will scratch yours comes into play and he sits out on the bench injured but there's no place for Abrar.
The sad part of me wanting to watch this pod the minute Babar got out and knowing it was over

Honestly, I would listen to BF much earlier than this but after Sunday, my anger hadn't started to dissipate till yesterday when I heard (because I didn't watch obvs) that Pakistan won against Canada (roaring to the target of 107 in..... 17.3 overs) and I read Osman and Danyal piece on CricInfo. The India loss was a tipping point for me with this team and individuals (focusing more on the players) on their lack of mindset to win and just be absolutely brainless in matches. Idk when I will watch these guys again until they change for the better.

Excellent episode...Ahmer makes a great point about the evolution of bowlers v batters (apropos Gary Kirsten's statement) Our bowlers have been doing their best to improve with all the heavy lifting they do.. and yeah, like you say, Ahmer, Pakistan ki batting awal se aakhir is problematic koi bhi redeeming feature nahi hai.. well maybe the tailenders are ok, Naseem especially, the poor lad.

You already admitted that overall, in 2024, Pakistan’s T 20 batting is sub par. Then how can they earn run a ball, against, currently best fielding and bowling attack of India with Bumeah, Hardik, and Arshdeep? That hope is nauve, and Imad Wasim sort of said that in his post match interview that how Pakistan was caged by Indian bowling in death overs. Losing to 2024 Indian team was destiny . Losing to USA was stupidity of decision making.
To elaborate on Usman bhai`s point from the earlier part of the episode, Ifti didn`t miss just 2 of Bumrah`s full tosses, he actually missed one from Siraj as well and that too was a no ball free hit delivery. I still believe the one he got out too was slightly difficult one to hit compared to the other two which were waist high ones... Siraj`s one was outside off, he could have smashed down the ground easily as Siraj is lesser in pace as well. This is where the most interesting point about Pakistan`s batting comes, its always a disjointed sort of effort from the batting unit, if openers perform, the middle and lower order fails, when you rely on a guy to fulfill a role, he starts failing in that exact role... same is the case with Ifti... he promised, he performed in this slogger role in patches, he got us hooked nd showed promise but is only a shade of what he used to be initially. This India game, he just had no touch to his game like Imad n Shadab who were equally hopeless. The biggest thing is, all three guys only had the leg side slog to rely on. A guy like Naseem came and showed them that runs can be scored in imaginative ways in a T20.... To be honest, there was nothing special about Indian bowling in this match and they were expecting to lose themselves until the Rizwan dismissal. Even if Rizwan got out to a bad shot which wasn`t required, I still believe, with 37 to get of 30 and having Iftikhar, Imad, Shadab at our disposal, these three guys should have seen us through whatever the pitch was doing (which did not have the venomous demons in it, like the earlier games, it was only keeping lower slightly making hitting that little bit more difficult). From 49 needed of 50 and Fakhar still there with Rizwan,,,, this is the lowest of the low. Yes our batting has been pathetic since ages now but in the past after a shoddy loss, guys would come together and show a real fight and give positive results in next games or series (The 90s, Salman Butt, Akmals times, even Hafeez, Malik times of the last decade) and we will win some games or a trophy or series. This past few years since Babar has become captain, dont remember last time we had any real consistent winning run

Today an identical match happened between Bangladesh and South Africa. Given that Bangladesh too fell short in the same way as Pakistan despite being more proactive (better strike rotation, more attempts at boundaries), is there a case for judging Pakistan less harshly?
Yes because Bangladesh isn't really the kind of team you want to envy. They're decent but not world beaters.
The score of 120 on that pitch was equivalent to 200 on a flat track. So I don't understand the criticism of Pak. It's not just coincidence that both teams scored under 120.

Win or loose there is no blessing from this system. Since management is so unstable there is no direction there is no unison of board. Stars align once in a while and we win something other than that this is product of our system (insecurity from top to bottom), this is totally expected, totally norm. #brownuncle

one point Osman is missing is that your middle order does not have any momentum so the middle order position which is already very difficult is doubly difficult in this double-triple anchor setup. Also blaming imad when no player from both sides was able to play after the 10 overs is baffling.

An honest criticism of Pakistan team, they need to start picking players with education. High IQ helps with calmness, coolness under pressure, positive body language, humbleness, respect for your country, teammates, fans and opposition. Lack of brain cells causes panic, headless chicken & rabbits in the headlights type of characters. Also stop blaming BCCI for everything that goes wrong in cricket, if you other countries want to be in that position start working on your adminstration. There are multiple reasons why Pakistan are in the position they are in, the people running Pakistan are 90% flawed characters, try to employ honest people with integrity. Pakistan is the 2nd largest cricketing nation interms of population but they are awful, this goes to show large population is not everything. You need quality more than quantity. By the way India were bad also, but it was an aberation whereas for Pakistan it is the norm.
I agree with the education bit to a great extent. The greatest captains we've had were IK and Waz. Waz had a high cricketing acumen, and IK was highly intelligent and had a great education, which I feel enabled him to transform Pakistan cricket and also have a great career. He had fame like no other cricket player (from the subcontinent or the SENA countries), but never let it get to his head.

I have a one question for you guys, I'm unable to understand the logic behind the decision. On what basis Haris, Shan and Waseem jr. were dropped from the squad? They played the final and since then they are not part of t20 somehow. Is there no value for impact and clutch performances because without these three we wouldn't have played the final in last T20WC.

I feel like babar threw shadab under the bus by promoting imad ahead of him and changed shadab's role from being a middle order batsmen who can at the least form a partnership with an out-of-form batsmen against spinners to finish an innings to bashing 5 balls every over while batting with the tail. There is nothing that shows babar's insecurity with his middle order better than whenever he shuffle's his batting line-up around.

Hard luck, guys. I thought Pakistan was the better team right until the final moments of the match. I think their confidence and morale is shot, given their poor t20 form this year. I believe that was a big reason for the late collapse. Love the show as usual. My biggest takeaway from yesterday was that BOTH of these teams are fairly mediocre and will get found out if/when they get to the later stages of the tournament.

no matter how much you guys compare with india but players are ready for india currently, unlike pak players who're undercooked. i'm sure comparing with india give little bit relief for pak fans but pak team is absolute 💩. there is no like to like replacement ready. very undercooked. captaincy ability also 💩. this 15 squad consist of rohit, kohli, samson players with 50+ leadership exp. hardik, pant also have 20-30 matches leading exp. these guys know how to take responsibility. in india our conditions also different in different place and been there in such situation. so these have capability to absorb pressure make decision. but pak lack this.
good cricket doesn't exist in pak team since last 3 -4 yrs maybe. even india lost many instances in icc tourn. there is some energy in players, passion, good cricket in them but pak side looks just depressing.
