Wahab riaz sitting in that dugout is so bizarre. I can't imagine any way in which he could be contributing positively to this team's identity or playstyle or decision-making, or morale.

For some reason I feel relieved by this loss, this world cup is pretty much over for us. A team which drops players like M.Haris, Zaman Khan, M Wasim and selects players like Azam, M Amir or Usman, deserves to lose this world cup.

Even before listening, I can say this wasn't the worst defeat because at least I could see it coming. Babar was destined to deliver this. While the list of responsible parties is long, Babar is the dumbest of them all to jump on this sinking ship when he had earned so much public sympathy and support for his unceremonious (but well justified) removal.

Worrying aspect is you would have expected guys like Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen alongside Amir, Imad and "Ifti Chachu" to take hold of the situation and rally the troops. But unfortunately the dressing room harmony for one reason or another doesn't have that so these results and performances happen.

I think you guys are overthinking and over complicating things to weave a web of I don't know what. Pak doens't have a world class team. They don't produce world class players any more. It is a ICC ranked 5th or 6th team; which is quite accurate. They will have their moments not a full day.

For some reason, the losses to Bangladesh in 1999 and Ireland in 2007 stung a lot more. But that is probably because I was younger and a lot more emotionally involved. But on an objective basis, this is definitely the most shocking loss in Pak cricket history.
Most of the blame for this loss and the general shambles is on the dinosaurs in the PCB and their massive egos. First you remove Babar (why?), then you remove Shaheen (why?) and then bring back Babar (why?). And never mind the nonstop management changes.
Mohsin Naqvi was so rude and disrespectful when he addressed the team when he took over and never mind the obnoxious promotional videos of Naqvi on the PCB CZcams channel. It seems more a Mohsin Naqvi fan channel than a channel for the promotion of Pakistan cricket. And he's not even the worst PCB chief (yet!) I have seen.
The fossils running the PCB are ensuring that an average joe like me completely stops caring about Pak cricket.

That's why we Shouldn't globalize the Sport. If we do, we may be at par with them in terms of skills, but we will lag behind them in terms of Strategy, Tactics, etc. When India lost to Bangladesh in 2007 world cup, they decided to revamp their whole Domestic Structure. It took time, 10 years, and finally, it's yielding results. Today, they got 6-7 150 Kmph Pacers (Umran, Kuldeep Sen, Mayank Yadav, Karthik Tyagi, Nagarkoti, etc.) which used to be our forte. Dhoni dropped VVS, Ganguly, etc. from ODI team owing to Fitness Issues.
If we don't sort our Cricket System, we will end up being a No 12 to No 15 Ranked team in next 10 Years. There are new teams coming up every year. Nepal, USA, Ireland, Canada, and few African countries as well, Their Cricket is in an Upward Curve. They might soon replace us if we don't fix ourselves.

The whole mindset conversation just leads me to think that we have completely missed the plot once again. It’s as though, the thing that Usman khan is missing is just the fearless approach and if he had that, he would be the same as will jacks or Phil salt. Umm no imad. There is a massive divide in skill. We have to confront that. We don’t have the skill to confront highly skilled bowling. Mindset comes much much later. We are a Babar Azam retirement away from having the batting line up of a nepal. That’s basically how pathetic we are. Stop creating distractions and focus the conversation on where it needs to be, ie skill development from the grassroots to the national side. Get better pitches, better coaching, better fitness, better competition.

It’s second time in my life that I am rather happy over the losses Pakistan team is suffering in last one year or so. The first time was when in 1996 Waseem Akram team lost in the World Cup QF against India and then continued the same until the 1999 debacle. Otherwise, I am the one who has always been a very emotional supporter of Pakistan who would celebrate the wins like crazy and mourn the losses painfully.
What a sh*t we have gathered in last few years especially after the MisYou era. It’s not that we haven’t been doing such ridiculously unbelievable performance in the past but after the MisYou era, the team has seriously become a plethora of garbage, a bunch of greedy, selfish, self-Centred, extremely unprofessional, immature and to be honest very illiterate and uncultured players who don’t have a reason to represent a country on an international forum. To top up this, the team is led by a duffer captain who is only dying to be compared with the likes of Virat, Smith, KW and Root. He is way way too behind them.

Why all our power hitting is only towards like Mid Wicket? Why not Cover, Point, Long Off, Third Man, etc. Why can't we develop Technically correct batters who got power game as well, Babar being the closest to that description, and Saeed Anwar in the past. When I look around the World, for technically correct batters with power hitting abilities and impeccable Range of Strokes (In Short, all Format batter), I see a David Warner, Jos Buttler, Rohit Sharma, Gill, Daryl Mitchell, Aiden Markram, Tristan Stubbs, etc. We got none, maybe PSL 24 Babar. It's better to have Saud Shakeel, Abdullah Shafique in our team than these Ifti, Azams, etc. At least, we won't have a batting collapse regularly, and we will end up scoring higher majority of times, expect for once in 5 times when these Sloggers click.

Imperialism works well because the institutional powers that be have an understanding that there are some things they will always be aligned on - power and control - and the rest can be dealt with the optics of political parties who will genuinely or disingenuously fight over other issues. This inevitability creates a semblance of stability despite democracy's inherently designed unstable features.
The PCB could learn something from this. Sit all these rinse and repeat rotational PCB chairs in a room. Have them agree on the things they all love to remove and replace, all the things they refuse to publicly agree on, but privately can - say, stop changing the captain, invest in them, stop changing coaches and restructuring the domestic structure, invest in them - then publicly disagree only on the how of these elements, and in fact be political and take credit for the success of predecessors if something is working, don't remove and replace it, privately be fully aligned.
For all the politics in the PCB, kamaskam they could actually learn from political collusion tactics to fix the root problems of the institution.
