Exactly there’s nothing that sucks more than a movie trailer that gives everything away and basically shows all the good scenes
This 7 year old comment aged nicely. Trailers have gotten worse in 2023. They're even longer & give away everything. Watching the movie feels like filler so the 3rd act can happen. You know the story, what's going to happen & who survives. The thing is happening at the place with guy & now he's got the MacGuffin. Oh, plot twist? How did I not see this coming... Oh wait, the part & MacGuffin connect together to make the plot hole shown 35 seconds into the trailer. It makes no sense how or why. Credits roll, you reflect. The only thing you didn't see coming was guy getting & staying injured at the end. He didn't magically heal. That's why the MacGuffin was needed to do the thing that saved everyone before he died.

Surprisingly awesome action movie with a cool 80's vibe to it! Dan Stevens' on-screen presence is totally magnetic. This would have been an absolute cult classic if it were released 30 years ago.
Anyone who thinks this movie is stupid or bad doesn't enjoy great cinema. It's an homage to all the cult classics from the 80's. It's supposed to be surreal, absurd, creepy and funny. The excellent soundtrack ties everything together. 2 huge cut off thumbs up.

Really, this movie has so much potential to get a sequel and a prequel.
And with the same soundtrack of course(and some new awesome ones too). Cuz this soundtrack and the movie are incomplete without each other. Made David Collins the badass.

Souvik Sikder Prequel should be how he met their brother and then that fire and all stuff before also why did he come to visit them. And sequel should be about that doctor in Miami and him changing fingerprints and all. Also they should add what happened to the kids. I would watch all of them :)
Nickey You are right. Prequel should show his early life, how he got into the programme. The relation that he had with their brother and the training he went through to become this kickass "programmed" to disappear soldier and what led him to turn on the organization and what his mission is. The photograph that the highest ranked officer shows to the mother is intriguing enough. I mean look at his face in the picture.
The kids should definitely be in the sequel and David Collins being the badass that he is should be kind of a guardian devil(cant be guardian angel :D ).

Even the movie soundtracks were so good throughout the movie, I'm quite impressed. A must watch!
I loved the scene where he sees the heavy machine gun pointed at him and just rolls his eyes. It's subtle things like that that make the movie! I also liked the sudden change in tone halfway through the movie from a seemingly normal film to twisted thriller. Soundtrack was also amazing and the scene inside the maze and mirror room with music made it great!
Loved this movie so much, and Dan stevens kills it, I know its not a drama, but he should've been nominated for an oscar, I'm serious, the guy had so much charisma, it was impossible to take your eyes off him
First half has the Drive spirit, second half has the John Carpenter feel. The ending scene is fantastic, with this retrowave soundtrack. Drive, The Guest, It Follows, go check those underrated movies if you like Stranger Things.

Main actor is a young protagonist Dan Stivens (1982). Ones who like thrillers, have to watch this amazing thriller movie.
Just seen this and it was amazing. Honestly the best film I have seen in ages surprisingly. Decided to watch this because I was bored and definitely didn't expect it to be so good! Had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through and the ending didn't disappoint at all, hoping there will be a sequel.
Did anyone else see the "VISITING SOON" instead of "coming soon" BECUZ it's called the guest. Ha!

That's your opinion, not mine! I enjoyed every minute of this film. It's very 80's-like, with a fantastic soundtrack, plus the famous "the killer is not really dead" scene at the end. This has reminded me much of the horror movies from the 80's like "Friday the 13th" or "Halloween."

I loved it. Loved the dark tone of it and the soundtrack is absolutely genius- just adds to that cynical feeling. I hope they make a sequel. I expected a cheap action movie but what I got is a deeply cynical mysterious thriller. Awesome!

Watched this today without knowing anything about it and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The storyline is unique as is the delivery of the film. And the soundtrack is pretty sick too and goes brilliantly well with the film.

I saw the first 5 minutes and thought it would be an alright movie....I didn't expect to be stunned!!! This movie delivers, hands down!! 'You did the right thing...*Thumbs up*'
This is marketed as an action thriller, yet it is more of a psychological thriller. I went to see the movie today and thought it was good. However the mainstream audience will watch this trailer and get the wrong idea. It is very gruesome and sometimes darkly comical. Some audiences will not like it because of the tone. Just a warning to anyone who is thinking of watching a fun action movie. It is still fun at times but the majority of the movie is very weird.
thats just how it should be. Some 80s music, violence and plenty of action and wierdness. Its what makes it better than the mainstream shit out there.

If I had to describe it, it would be "Bourne identity meets john carpenter's Halloween".
Ryan Hollinger I just saw it today, one of the best films I have seen in a long time. It did feel extremely similar to Drive in its style. If you haven't seen that and liked The Guest then give it a watch.

Amazingly underrated movie, went into this without seeing any trailers which was great seeing as this one gave away quite a bit but still highly recommend seeing this. The lead actor being phenomenal in this role so charismatic.

The soundtracks of this movie were awesome. This is a kind of movie where you don't care about the before or after part and just about the part of the story being shown. It is way underrated , great movie. A must watch!

So many people watched this without understanding what it was supposed to be--a thriller/black comedy with roots in classic John Carpenter movies. Its goofiness juxtaposed against violence and insanity was entirely intentional, and brilliantly done. I adored it, and can't wait to see more Adam Wingard/Simon Barrett collaborations, and more of Dan Stevens.
Also, the soundtrack was just incredible.

This is a good movie from beginning to end. I watched it before coming to the trailer and could tell what his intentions were from the beginning. I'm an experienced movie watcher who often gets bored with movies but this was really good. Its all in your type of movie. If you want it to be a happy ever after... don't watch it. This is a thriller with action and more. The guy's got a plan and he's gonna carry it out no matter down to the wire.

Dan Stevens (main actor of this movie) would make a great James Bond. Did read producers where looking into this after Daniel Craig leaves the roll. He has the look and physical presence for the character. And before people moan that his American he isn't, his a British actor.
The male lead is Dan Stevens and he played Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey season 1 and 2. When I saw he was in this I had to check him out because I was totally convinced it wasn't the same actor, omg I'm shocked he's so mean and sexy not what I remember from Downton at all. Defiantly worth a watch just to see the transformation alone.
He should be the next James Bond!!! Can't wait for The Beauty and the Beast!!

Right? Dan would be unbelievable as 007. Only negative about Dan Stevens being 007 is that he has never liked committing to a project for more than three years (Downton Abbey, Legion, etc.) and the Bond franchise requires 6-8 years.

@@wiinterflowers4277 Not a bad idea, considering his commitment would only be for that one film, or possibly more. But he would be so perfect as 007 -- so elegant, and such deadly charm. His voice is simply mind-boggling and he could buff up if need be (not too much). He has also done some outstanding work narrating Audiobooks for Casino Royale (award winner) and other Ian Fleming and Agatha Christie books. So ultra-talented, it would be a real kick for him, but again, a big longshot to happen.

frustrated it took me so long to watch this movie, I would genuinely recommend it if anyone hasn't seen it. It doesn't do anything wildly above and beyond as far as filmmaking goes, but it is a quality film written and paced extremely well.
Watch this to see Dan Stephens and Maika Monroe's great performances. Such an underrated movie. I absolutely loved the soundtrack as well. If you're looking for a thriller to watch this is the one!

Dan Stevens is not that new, he is relatively known in the UK and is best known as Matthew Crawley of the popular British show Downton Abbey. He usually plays upper class Englishmen and so far is seen more as a Hugh Grant than a Jason Statham; this type of role is a first for him.
