      Sooooo what kind of amp do you plug it into? That’s the part that confuses me

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 2 lety

      @@douglasboyd8475 Hi, Douglas! Thanks for your message. Good question with a few solutions/answers. If your priority is the acoustic emulations, then direct into a console/DI box, powered PA cabinet, or acoustic amp provide the broadest frequency response. When you switch to the electric pickup then some kind of amp in the box pedal or DSP pedal (Line6, Headrush) helps you get a more convincing tone. If the electric guitar sound is your priority, a traditional amp does compromise the fidelity of the acoustic tones, although some like having the more gritty tone. Lastly, an AB box allows you to switch from direct to amp or mix, if you like.
      Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Happy Thanksgiving!

    I have an original acoustasonic Tele and love it. I wanted a thin body acoustic that didn't sound cheap or cheesy since I play electric and large acoustic bodies are hard for me to get used to. This one is nice and comfy. I'm so glad they made one at this price. Plus I like the 9V battery access better than the mini USB mine has. Much more user friendlier. And I like that the sound is modeled and not a quacky piezo pickup. Also these guitars sound great just unplugged believe it or not! It's not a huge full dreadnought tone but for simple jamming and home playing it's great and puts out some volume. I was also surprised at the electric tone. It's not a compromised sound, but is legit Tele tone with a slide of the blade switch. Tim Shaw knows his stuff and it shows. I think mine is cool and Fender did a great with it. If a full sized acoustic is too big this one is a great alternative.

    I have the Tele American version and really like it. The MIM that Don is using sounds pretty good too. For me, the convenience of playing a slimmer acoustic is what I like most. And yes Don, I was the one (see if you remember).

Google "Thumb-picking" or "Travis-picking," there are a bunch of great lessons, too. I did a video on how to play Blackbird by the Beatles, which uses a technique akin to thumb-style. I bought one there at Sweetwater: for a compact truck cab acoustic guitar that can be plugged in. I like it except I can’t get the same amplified volume level out of my first string. I have to play it about twice as hard as the other strings to match their volume. I’m not sure what to do about it. I put a 13 and 17 for the first and second strings. Would that cause this?

      I've has that problem before on most every acoustic guitar that I've ever owned. The problem is that the bottom of the saddle is not flat! The saddle HAS to make contact with the same amount of force that the other strings have. If there's a convex bow and it's high in the middle then you can have low contact on either end of the strings making the volume less. If it has a concave surface then the middle strings will be a problem. That saddle MUST be flat on the bottom all the way across and square with the sides. If not, then it's not making good contact and you'll have some strings louder than others. Any Luthier can correct this problem!
