A big thank you Unfa for making this detailed video on the latest FOSS music production tools. Thanks once again it was really helpful.
Thanks! I am happy to know it's useful :)
comment for the algorithm because your channel deserves 1M+ subs right now. i don't what i would do if you stopped uploading. you have godly talents at this :)
I got all my knowledge of Ardour with your videos! Only you made me able to use Ardour! Before I did all my drum covers in Audacity. Since a week I changed everything and now I'm recording in Ardour! It's so much better! Thanks for all your videos! I hope I can try to compose songs sometime!
Great! You can get help in my community chat regarding making songs - chat.unfa.xyz
that's a cooool video, i learnt a lot new stuffs from here!!!!!🥰
Great to see you explaining different synths inside Ardour. I still consider myself an absolute beginner and the multiple possibilities sometimes dazzle me. Like, overwhelming. It great to see you go through the various options and modules with explanation, which is very helpful.
I sometimes forget about some synths I have installed on my system.
I really need to DO more, instead of watching YT video's about it. ;)
So, thank you for this video!
Hi Unfa!!! Long time, no see!! (
As always writing a comment to support the channel
Thanks! Engagement is a very important metric on CZcams :D
44:20 You are very brave. Jumping right in with the F word. :D
Too bad it didn't work lol :D
you are *the* authoritative youtuber on OSS audio!
Dziękuję WARIACIEEEEEE !
+ Muzyka na imprezach nie jest nudna jeżeli się do niej tańczy - polecam. xD
Po to ona jest. Interesujące kawałki do słuchania są turbo kijowe do tańczenia.
Do usług ;)
Tak, odkrywam dlaczego muzyka stricte taneczna jak house, techno, trance etc. jest relatywnie monotonna, ale myślę że ma to też sens bo to jest trochę tempo zmian w utworze które można wykonać na żywo dwoma rękami.
Great stuff, looking at starting out with Linux for production. The What the FUCK! moment was gold!!! 😄😄😄
Some drum n bass yay 😀
You look like Aphex Twin, btw I appreciate your content!
Bro you should make a video about ubuntu studio!. I just installed it on my main rig and im amazed that its preconfigured with everything you need. (Using LTS version right now).
I don't know if i still want to stay with Ubuntu, i might eventually hop back onto endeavourOS however when i learn how to configure low latency kernel, jack/pulse and pipewire and all that stuff. Will definitely be going through most of your videos. Cheers for all the tutorials :)
Hey Unfa. Do u have or someone here has a clue how to install and use wineasio, I trying for weeks now but its not workin not Ubintu JJ nor Manjaro. I just would love to use Linux bud still perform live with abelton live. Bud latency is to high.
Can someone help me?
Have you seen a video from Dan Worrall about analog summing?
I am not sure if I've watched that one. Possibly.
Cool! Thank you for that introduction. I thought you live in the US of A and were originally from one of the Eastern bloc countries. Hello neighbor! 👋😁
I see you're adding one of each synthesizer. I added 3, then a 4th vital synth recently to ardour. At 4, the UI won't open. Multiple allows me to run a different vital synth config on different midi channels. I note there is no way to midi control the current pre-select (philosophical design choice?). Aware of the reason, a fix, or a workaround? Thank you so much. To better health!
I think I've had this issue before. I tried using Vitalism in VST3 format rather than LV2 and that seemed to help. Sometimes restarting Ardour helped, but I really never got to the bottom of this.
I certainly didn't use 1 instance of each synth to avoid such problems - I wanted to demonstrate as many among the best tools as I reasonably could :)
Not KHU, but HKU. Wrong caption?
Fixed, thanks!
Reaper also supports LV2 inline display ;)
That's awesome!
@@unfa00 It's a bit of a "hack" based on the Reaper "embedded UI" and can either be placed in the Track Control Panel or the Mixer Control Panel (not both at the same time :( )
Wow, now I really want to move to linux, but i need to finish a ton of my half done FL projects 😅
I am not sure about all your plugins, but it's possible you could run FL on Linux via Wine and carry on this way :)
then I guess I have no excuses😅. anyway, i will look into it
Ardour is my dark horse. It fucked up all my compositions but i still love it :)
Love&Hate
@@unfa00 I don't hate Ardour. There are so many good things in it

Hi unfa, you mentioned an guy making cool hardware modeling effects, but a bit too quickly, can you please remind the name of them? ❤
This was sick. Nay, ill! Downright unhealthy. It gave me covid-19, monkeypox and a shellfish allergy! And I liked it!
Get better soon :D
Im a Linux Mint User From Brasil...and im a "Bedroom Dj"my only "DAW"is the Mixxx Dj Software...my"composing"process is Overdubbing all music Tracks with"Mixing Layers..with Mp3 audios...
Whatever gets you going creatively! Sounds like an interesting way to make "remixes" ;)
@@_DRMR_ Mixxx can be a Raw overdub station, because that App is,actualy a Sorta of Mixing Table,or a Track mixer....i can sync a drum,a keybord, guitar, vocals with those fake records running toghether with the Colorful sinewaves from that spectrogram animation....
@@fabricio4794 Yes I have used mixxx for over a decade, am familiar with the program.
We can even host LV2 plugins inside of it!
@@_DRMR_ im Releasing my Instrumental Rock Album with only Samples called The Unspoken on the Sunset i will Upload it to Bandcamp soon but the"creation Formula is like work with Overdubs"If you Have Live instruments you can Plug in the "Real mixing"sound hub table on the Computer...and Play the Instruments separated by tracks and Match them Together on Mixxx again....as a Final mixing..

@@BrianFields Thank you! I've added them to the videos description so CZcams adds chapters on the timeline. I've credited you.
i wish i could use linux again, because building ardour on windows seems like too big of a pain in the ass. but current limitations on linux (x11 and wayland both have problems that make linux unusable for my needs) and my setup (nvidia) make it impossible for me to switch back to using linux without having to sacrifice usability
I see.
I wonder what are the problems you have with X11?
As for Ardour - I pay $1/mo to have access to all builds and I'd recommend that option. Or just get the 6.9 version as a one-time purchase (minimum of $1).
If you're into FOSS and audio - feel free to hang around my community chat! Maybe you'll even find people who can figure out the issues you're facing! Or at least you can learn more about doing what you want on Windows :)
chat.unfa.xyz
@@unfa00 i have 2 monitors that have different refresh rates and x11 doesnt really like that. wayland apparently works better with different refresh rates but doesnt really work with nvidia or monitors with different resolutions and it also has forced vsync.
i might pay for ardour when i get paid next month
@@hornattila I'm using two monitors, a 1440p144Hz Samsung with FreeSync and a 1080p60 AOC and they work fine , but I have a Radeon GPU - not sure how it works with Nvidia.
Now he is telling me , he was in my country. .....
Which one? :)
